IPod Video Vs new iPod nano

i currently own a mini and i am thinking of upgrading, but i dont know which ipod to get. should i get the new nano or the ipod video, the price between the most expensive nano and the cheapest video isnt that much. so which one? thanks
iPod Mini   Windows XP

It really depends on what is important to you. If you want an extremely small and light device and you don't care about video or gobs of storage space, the nano is for you. If you need lots of storage and want to view videos, the iPod with video is the best option.

Is it possible to get itunes music videos to play or do I need to get new ipod.   It works on my iPad and iPhone, but not through iPod Classic.

Are these music videos located under Videos on your iPod?  Do it play other regular movies (if you have any on the device)?

Yes, of course.   Did you set up with your Apple ID?
Reset the iPad to factory and set it up with your Apple ID and password.   You can still sync different apps, music and other stuff onto the iPad,  the devices need not mirror each other.
I have an old wifi iPad, an iPod touch and a new iPad mini with cellular.   All on the same Apple ID and password, different content on some apps, same on others.

  • How can i transfer music from my old ipod to my new ipod that is not in my library

I just purchased a new Ipod.  How can I transfer all my music from my old ipod onto my new ipod?  I have songs on my old ipod not in my library.  I have a new computer.  I want all my music from my old ipod transferred to my new ipod

You need to transfer all the music on this old iPod to your iTunes library first before you can sync it to your new iPod.

  • HT201269 iTunes is recognizing my iPod as a new iPod even though I have my old stuff restored to it and it says the name of it but still asks to set up as new iPod or restore from a backup.

iTunes is recoznizing my iPod as a new iPod and only gives me the options of set up as new iPod or to restore from a backup. I put my old backup on it and everytime I plug it in it still recognizes it as a new iPod. I've tried restoring it several times and it doesn't help anything and I've also uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it but it didn't help. Please I really need some help I can't download any music with it doing this.

There maybe better ways to do this, but this worked for me when things stopped working a couple of updates back.
Try this; Make sure your stuff is backed up on your computer first. plug the iPod to your computer and do the restore to factory setting. Then set up as if it's a brand new out of the box iPod. (DON"T use your backup copy) Go through all the steps of first time set up. Once complete, add back all your stuff, music, apps, pictures, etc. from your computer. I know it's a pain, but it worked for me.
By the way; the reason I'm doing this total restore is the RED square in the RED circle. All my music downloaded from CDs became unreadable / unplayable today, (worked fine yesterday-- today crap!!) and none of the fixes listed in this forum would work for me. So I started over, after the restore, the RED circles are gone and my music is playing.
    Hope it works, Good Luck!

  • Copy music from my old ipod to my new ipod touch

I want to copy my music from my old ipod to my new ipod touch, how can I do that?

You have to transfer the music from the old iPod to iTunes and then sync it to the new iPod.
    - To transfer iTunes purchases to the computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848- To transfer other music you need a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • Transferring music from old iPod Touch to new iPod Touch.

I had a iPod touch but while I was on vacation I either lost it or it got stolen. So right now I have iTunes and my whole library that is registered with my lost iPod. I just got a new iPod yesterday. How do I transfer all these songs to my new one?

Easy.  Just restore the new iPod from the backup of the old one.  When you first connect the iPod to your computer to activate the iPod, iTunes should give you message that says it found a backup and would you like to restore the iPod from that backup or set up the iPod as a new iPod,  Say restore from backup.  Then sync the music you want to the iPod. Restoring from backup will keep all your all settings and app data but you will have to reenter keychain items like passwords.

  • Can I use my travel charger from older iPod on my new iPod touch?  110 charger it fits okay.

Can I safety use a travel charger (110) from an older iPod, for my new iPod touch?

Older iPods, i think up to the 4G iPods and iPod Mini allow Firewire & USB syncing and charging. (Except probably for the first generation iPod Classic"
The iPhone 2G (and probably iPod Touch 1G and iPod Classic 5G) will allow Firewire charging (Not Syncing).
Any iPhone from the iPhone 3G and newer (and also i guess iPod touch) will not charge from Firewire as far as i know.
So if your older iPod has a USB charger (Nearly all iPods have USB to Dock port chargers/cables) then yes you can use it to charge any iPod touch or iPhone.
