IPod Video will Randomly turn on and play a certain playlist

My iPod will randomly turn on and play a certain playlist I have. It will also do it in the middle of other playlist or when I'm just playing music. It is always the same playlist and there is no pattern as to when it will do this. Any ideas?

Turn off the alarm.

ipod touch will not turn on or connect to my computer

I just had a similar problem and tried all of the reboot techniques with no success. I knew it had to be a connection issue inside the iPod, and grasping at straws, I sprayed a little WD-40. I dried it off and let it sit overnight. Today at lunch I plugged it in to my wall charger and it began charging.
***FYI I know they don't recommend spraying WD-40 on your iPod, but it was a last resort for me. I was at the point of paying to send it in for repairs or throwing it away. I wouldn't try this unless you are ready to throw yours away too.

My6 month old ipod touch will no turn on. I have tried holding both the power buton and the home button to no avail. I have it plugged in and still nothing. Any hope for restoring it?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch will not turn on and computer does not recognize the device

I tried resetting my ipod touch, but there is still no response. I have had it plugged into the computer for a couple of days. I don't know if it is charging or what because the screen won't turn on and the computer does not recognize the device. I have downloaded the latest version of iTunes, as well as restarting my computer several times. Does anyone know what to do? I would try restoring it, but like I said my computer doesn't recognize it and itunes doesn't either. Thanks!

  • My ipod touch will not turn off and the battery (charged to 100% with trickle charge) is discharging on it's own.  Any advice please?

My Ipod touch has not turned off for some time.  I reset it.  Now, as well, the battery which is charged to 100% and finished with a trickle charge is discharging completely overnight when not in use.  Help please, I use this all the time

  • Ipod will randomly switch songs and play those

About twice each day, while I am playing my songs, my iPod will switch unexpectedly to "My Top Rated" Playlist and start playing those songs. This also happens when my iPod is off - it'll turn on by itself and start playing the songs on "My Top Rated" Playlist. Then when I press the "Menu" button to scroll back, all the screens will be blank until I hit the main screen with "Music, Extras, etc." That's the only menu that shows up. After hitting "Menu" to get to that page, then I am able to control my iPod again.
This happens whether or not the hold switch is on and it'll happen even if my iPod is sitting on my desk, not touching anything. This will also happen whether or not my battery is recharged - I've tested it on two occasions. Once, the battery was full and another time, the battery was low. In both cases, it still switched itself to "My Top Rated" and started playing whether or not the iPod was on. This problem has been occurring over the past 3 weeks. I've tried updated it using your software but that doesn't work.

    Hi Victoria,
First, I'd try a Reset and then a Restore. Just note that by doing a restore, all your music will be removed from your iPod, so make sure it's all backed up somewhere.
    Hope this helps,

  • Ipod touch will not turn on and will not connect to computer!

Help please!  I accidentally dropped my ipod the other day (it has dropped before and not been a problem) and now it won't turn on or connect to a computer.  I have googled it and tried everything!  It is still under warranty but unfortunately the warranty doesn't cover accidents. Any suggestions??

    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic. It could be that the water corroded the contacts so try to clean any corrosion from them.
    - Then charge overnight and try what you did before
    If still does not work:
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs.. They do not fix yours.

  • IPod touch will not turn on, and is also dead, what do i do? It wont connect to itunes either!

MY IPOD TOUCH IS BROKEN.  it was about to die and my charger broke right? so i left it on my shelf, and now im coming back to my ipod cuz i have a chance to charge it and it wont turn on! itunes doesnt recognize it or anything. i've checked the audiojack and its not pink so its NOT waterdamaged.  i've also tried to reset it with the home/power buttons but nothing. D:

    "...it was about to die."
Do you mean that it was about to run out of power, but because your charger was broken, you could not charge it? Time passed and now you've decided to look at the iPod again.
Probably, it has simply run out of power and the battery is fully drained. In that case, plug it into power and leave it alone for at least thirty minutes. Only then will it show any signs of life. Leave it to fully charge up before you try to use it.

My ipod nano will turn on and play but the viewing screen will not come on and I cannot access the information to select different playing options. It glows white background light then goes dark for the entire time I am using it. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem.  Someone here told me to make sure my earbuds were in securely.  Push until they click in place.  It solved the problem.  The music still plays even though the screen goes to sleep.  Hope this helps.
