IPOD Videos Show up in Music Folders! WHY?

I downloaded some vidoes to my iPod and they were put in the appropriate video folder for a few weeks. After letting my brother in law use it, the videos mysteriously showed up in the music folder and now they wont play on the iPod. They play fine when connected to iTunes, but not directly on the iPod it self. I also had purchased one of the vidoes directly from iPod store and that one as well is in Music folder and wont play. Can Some one help me to fix this problem?

I've got the exact same problem! Happened 2-3 times now. I've just got the iPod, and I'm starting to get frustrated!

So basically I have had my 30GB ipod video (5th gen) for quite a few years and have never really had any problems with it till now (aside from a slightly faulty backlight).
The other day I tried to turn it on, only to find that the screen alternated between the "sad ipod face" icon and the "please wait, very low battery" icon, despite being plugged in to my usual wall charger. After leaving it a while and messing with the buttons, attempting to reset it and such likes, it came up with a message telling me to connect it to itunes to restore, which I did. However, neither my computer nor my itunes would recognise the ipod and it came up with the low battery screen more frequently.
I left it plugged in to my wall charger in the hope it would charge and after trying a couple of times it worked, I tried using the 5 r's as far as possible though, not very succesfully as i could not access the ipod through the computer. I also tried following the instructions on some other sites, though once again to no avail.
After having carried it around in my bag for the past couple days, with some more attempts to fix it I decided to have another proper look on the internet and managed to get it into diagnostic mode and then put it onto Manual Test mode >IO > Hard Drive > HD SMART Data, however when I do this it comes up with a message saying "SMART not supported" What does this mean? I also tried the auto test and as far as I am aware it seemed okay, though I am not really sure and I couldn't complete the test as i haven't got a firewire cable.
Is there any hope for the harddrive or do you think it is time for a new ipod?... should I try taking it apart, considering I have no experience?....
Any ideas on how to fix it would really be appreciated!

I tried this before, but I just got it to come up with the connect to itunes to restore message again and i connected it to my laptop and got an image of a circle with a line through it, a message saying do not disconnect and the battery charging icon in the top left (though it looks different to normal). However my laptop still would not recognise it and went back to the sad ipod face after about 5mins.
Also I dont really live anywhere near an apple store and can't really afford to send it off anyway, it would probably end up cheaper to get a new one. Thanks a lot for your help! Any other ideas would really be appreciated, however unusual....

Ipod Video 30Gb no sound music and video

Since two days I have a strange problem on my Ipod Video 30Gb.
On the display it seems that the tracks are playing or that the video is playing. But when I listen through the headphones I hear nothing. Even when I connect the Ipod to a dock or a dockspeaker nothing happens. I allready tried to reset the Ipod and I even installed it's software again but nothing helps.
The last thing I did before the problem occured was that I have upgraded my Itunes to version 8.0.0.35.
Please give me some suggestions how to fix this problem.

IPod Video Folder = All my Music

Okay, first of all, i've had really bad luck w/ iPods Lately... I had a 30Gig Photo, it "sadface icon'd" and i sent it in, got a new one and sold it to my friend and bought the new 60GB Vid. My friend had troubles w/ the new one and luckily got a new-er one for free. Hassle.
But anyway, i have the 60GB Video iPod and when i click the Video Folder, when i click movies it shows all my "songs" and when i click Music Videos it shows all my "artists"... It seems like a simple fix or lame gitch. If i send it in, i'll lose all my movies (didn't back them up). Over-all... the Music works Great, but even when i find Movies or Music Videos in the "songs" in Music Videos, they only play the sound and has the first screenshot on the page (and this isn't the "TV Out" issue, because i've tried that).

Ohh yeah... and this same deal happened to two of my friends, EXACTLY.

ITunes shows my music but when I connect iPod it shows all my music twice

I recently purchased a new computer so I used my iPod as an external hard drive to move my songs. I upgraded my iPod software and installed the latest and greatest iTunes on my new laptop. I thought everything went well until I contacted my iPod to my new computer. The iPod updated and I was able to view my iPod in iTunes. But I can't play any of the songs from the iPod folders (Recently Played, Top 25, etc). I can't even highlight the songs that are categorized under my iPod. I can play all my songs from my library in iTunes when the iPod is connected to the computer or not. Why are all of my songs showing up in iTunes twice when the iPod is connected? I know it didn't do this before the upgrade. Where did I mess up? Please help.

Why do videos show up in photos and why can't i export them from iPhoto for iOS

Somehow, I just don't get it:
If I take a picture on my iPhone 5s, it is saved to 'Pictues' ... sound reasonable.
If I take a video on the same device, it is saved to 'Pictures' ... that's where it gets messy.
If I receive a video on an app like e.g. WhatsApp ... it also get's stored in ... guess what ... 'Pictures'!
Now that's a little bit confusing.
Generally I would like to keep these different types of media (still pictures vs. moving images) in separate spaces, but it seems like that is not possible out of the box, because if go ahead and tab on that share-button in iOS 7 i get prompted to share the videos to various installed apps like e.g. YouTube, Vimeo, Twitter - you name it.
It seems like there is no way to export videos from 'Pictures' to 'Videos', even if you use iPhoto for iOS in the gap.
The only ways (that I found) to get what I want are way to circumstantial:
Either use iPhoto for the Mac to import videos from the iCloud Photostream to the Mac and from there via "Show in Finder" re-import to iTunes' 'Videos'
or use iExplorer (a third party application for the Mac) and export the videos from the iPhone to a temp-folder and from there re-import with iTunes to 'Videos'.
Why isn't there just a simple share-sheet or export label called 'Export to Videos'.
Why doesn't it just work?
Am I missing out on something?
Is there an easier way to complete this relatively simple task?

Hi. My camera is a Canon 600D. And yes my videos are stored in the Aperture library and they are not referenced. Even then I tried to select all the videos in Aperture and clicked 'consolidate masters' and there was a messge that said all 'none of the files are referenced',... so they didn't need consolidating.
I also tried preferences> export> external video editor > choose > iMovie. And then right click on the video to edit with imovie. Even then the video didn't show up in iMovie. It seems like the only option for me is to import the videos directly to iMovie which means there will be two versions of the same file stored in my computer eating up space.

I am using my ipod video to transfer my music to an new computer

I bought a new dell comp/windows 2000 xp. I am trying to transfer my music using the ipod. I used the online instructions and am now stuck. It says to locat ipod in new computer (in My Computer)
double click on ipod, which I did. Then it says to drag itunes folder from ipod to my music folder. The problem is there is no itunes folder in my ipod. There is only calendars, notes and contacts folders. The other problem is since I have plugged it in the do not disconnect sign has not gone away. Someone help!!! I called the support line and they told me that because of copyright laws they could not help me.

I honestly am not sure. I didnt have music in itunes until I clicked on your link and followed the instructions. I wish I knew what the **** I was doing. I just follow instructions. Are you using your ipod to transfer the music ? If so, I just used this link and followed the instructions. but that is what got me into trouble in the first place. Hopefully I helped. I've restored my iPod twice, please help.

Try:
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

My 30G Black iPod Video shows color diagrams on screen

I put my ipod to charge in the computer via USB cable as usual but while it was charging it fell down accidentally and now appears color lines and squares diagrams only, I cant see anything im scared cause is too much expensive is like wasting my money. What should I do?

this seems like something inside of it broke or got damaged. If i were yyou, i would take it to a shop to have it fixed. My recomendation is The Geek Squad(if yyou live in the USA)

Ipod (Video) Hold Button Problem Anyone know why this happens?????

When my ipod is switched off and is put on hold, when i put the ipod into my pocket the ipod turns on when the hold button is on. The hold button is still turned on and the ipod operates whilst the hold button is on. Is anyone experiecing this or experienced this, if so please can you help???

Can't sync ipod video

i recently bought an ipod video. i immediatley added music to it. it synced and works fine. i can listen to all of the music on it, but when i connect it to my macbook, it isn't reconized. it doesn't even charge. i have a car charger and that works fine. i just need some help figuring out how get my mac to reconize my ipod. help please

I'm suspecting the cable. The car charger uses the Firewire 12V pins while USB is 5V. If you can borrow a replacement, give it a shot.
