On the volume limit lock, I lost the combination code. I plugged the nano into my computer to see if it would reset. It did not work. Is there anyway I can reset this combination without restoring the whole entire iPod?

    You have to restore it.

  • My iPod's volume limit is stuck on half way

My iPods volume limit is on & stuck on half way & won't move.tried restoring factory settings but no joy.

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod and still have the problem that points to a hardware problem. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Why is the sound low on my Ipod?  When I have my earbuds in I have to have the volume almost all the way up.  I have the volume limit maxed out also.  Same thing when I plug it into a boombox

Why does my Ipod play at a low volume?  When I have my earbuds in I have to have it at almost full volume, and when I plug it into a boombox it doesn't play as loud as the radio or a cd.  I have the volume limit turned all the way up in the settings also.  All my songs on my Ipod were burned from cd's(if that helps) thanks.

Sorry, I have the same issue.
So far searching threads here is not coming up with anything.
I have set aside my restore discs, to start the process of ripping the drive clean.
I tried Omni Sweep, but all it did was confirm the space I counted up.
Still does not show what's hidding. 113GB worth on mine.
That software really boggs down the system.
I could not load an email with it running.
    Good LUck as well.

If you're talking about the Maximium Volume Limit:
    Setting the Maximum Volume Limit
You can set a limit for the maximum volume on iPod shuffle. You can also set a
password in iTunes to prevent this setting from being changed by someone else.
If you’ve set a volume limit on iPod shuffle, the status light blinks orange three times if
you try to increase the volume beyond the limit.
To set the maximum volume limit for iPod shuffle:
1 Set iPod shuffle to the desired maximum volume.
2 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer.
3 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane.
    4 Click the Settings tab.
    5 Select “Limit maximum volume.”
6 Drag the slider to the desired maximum volume.
The initial slider setting shows the volume the iPod shuffle was set to when you
selected the “Limit maximum volume” checkbox.
7 To require a password to change this setting, click the lock and enter a password.
If you set a password, you must enter it before you can change or remove the
    maximum volume limit.
Note: The volume level may vary if you use different earphones or headphones.
To remove the maximum volume limit:
1 Connect iPod shuffle to your computer.
2 In iTunes, select iPod shuffle in the Source pane.
    3 Click the Settings tab.
    4 Deselect “Limit maximum volume.”
    Enter the password, if required.
Note: If you forget the password, you can restore iPod shuffle. See “Updating and
Restoring iPod shuffle Software” on page 26 for more information.

  • HT203681 Volume limit comes on with Bluetooth earphones on iPod generation 7 and won't go off

WWhen I connect Bluetooth earphones to iPod generation 7 the volume limit comes on automatically and won't go off

    Hi craig9798,
If you would like to change or turn off the Volume Limit on your iPod nano 7th Gen, you may find the following section from the User Guide helpful (pg. 25, PDF):
Set the maximum volume limit for iPod nano:
1  On the Home screen, tap Settings > Music > Volume Limit. The volume control shows the maximum volume limit.
2  Drag the slider left to lower the maximum volume limit, or right to raise the limit.
Note: In some countries, you can limit the maximum headset volume to the EU recommended
level. Tap Settings > Music, then tap the switch in the EU Volume Limit section to turn it on.
Require a passcode to change the volume limit:
1  After setting the maximum volume, tap Lock Volume Limit.
2  In the screen that appears, tap a four-digit passcode.
If you tap a number by mistake, tap , then tap the number you intended.
You can keep tapping to erase all numbers and return to the Volume Limit screen without setting a passcode.
3  When you’re prompted to reenter the passcode, tap the numbers again.
    Remove the volume limit:
1  On the Home screen, tap Settings > Music > Volume Limit.
2  Drag the slider all the way to the right.
If you set a passcode, tap Unlock Volume Limit first, enter your passcode, then drag the slider. If you forget the passcode, you can restore iPod nano. See Updating and restoring iPod
    software on page 59.

  • Do the EU iPhones have the 100 dB volume limit like on EU iPods?

I'll probably change my 1st gen this summer to iPhone 5, and live in France, and I want to switch to iPhone for music as well, currently I use my US nano for that, but if the EU models of iPhones have the same 100 dB volume limit as iPods sold in EU, I'll have to find a way to get the US model.

If only it were that easy!
This level is set in the firmware that came with your iPod (and any subsequent updates).
The US version of the firmware has no such restriction, but links to this download are impossible to find because Apple will not help you in any circumstances to update your firmware with a version that would circumvent this restriction.
Hence the number of hacks that have been provided in the past by 3rd parties.
We can only hope someone will write another one.

  • For the iPod Classic, in settings, how does the volume limit work? After setting a limit, how to re-set to a new volume limit?

For the iPod Classic, in settings, how does the volume limit work? After setting a limit, how to re-set to a new volume limit?

This thread - with a quote from an LR4 Beta thread - says that all 6 central Basic controls in PV2012 (Exposure thru Blacks) are now image-adaptive, as were Recovery, Fill Light, and Clarity in previous versions:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/4253485
Whether they are suitable for creating a Timelapse sequence without significant flicker is entirely subjective and up to you - and of course, dependant on your specific images & how they change over time.  Sorry, not much advice beyond try PV2012, and revert back to PV2010 if you get too much flicker.

  • Ipod shuffle volume limit

I have a first generation ipod and when i got itunes 7 i got a volume limit too. software is 1.1.4 for shuffle. After i set the volume limit i came back today and there was no box for it in settings, so i cant turn it off or adjust it. My ipod still does the volume limit and this is no help because when there is any other noise it's almost impossible to hear since vol limit is so low.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
This is not currently a feature for the iPod shuffle.

I forget my passcode for my ipod 6th gen. model MC525LL.  i want to adjust the volume and can't without the passcode.  How do I reset it?  Thanks.

    Hi blondop,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
If you cannot remember the passcode, you can restore the iPod nano and then set it up again. The articles below provide more details about the maximum volume limit and restoring the iPod.

    How to restore iPod
Verify that you have an active Internet connection, because you may need to download new versions of the iTunes and iPod Software.
Download and install the latest version of iTunes if necessary.
Open iTunes. Connect your iPod to your computer using the USB or FireWire cable that came with your iPod.
After a few moments, your iPod will appear in the Source panel in iTunes.
Select your iPod in the Source panel. You will see information about your iPod appear in the Summary tab of the main iTunes window.
    Click Restore.
If you are using a Mac, you will be asked to enter an administrator’s name and password.
A progress bar will appear on the computer screen, indicating that stage one of the restore process has begun. When this stage is done, iTunes will present one of two messages with instructions specific to the iPod model you are restoring.
Disconnect iPod and connect it to iPod Power Adapter (typically applies to older iPod models).
Leave iPod connected to computer to complete restore (typically applies newer iPod models).
During stage two of the restore process, the iPod displays an Apple logo as well as a progress bar at the bottom of the display. It is critical that the iPod remain connected to the computer or iPod power adapter during this stage.
Note: The progress bar may be difficult to see, because the backlight on the iPod display may be off.
After stage two of the restore process is complete, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear. It will ask you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences, as it did when you connected your iPod for the first time.
