IPod w/Color Still Reports Full After Formatting / Restoring
Here's a bizarre one: I am unable to update or sync my iPod. No songs or files are visible in the iPod window in iTunes, yet iTunes reports the iPod as full and refuses to update or sync. In other words, the files window is empty, but the status bar at the bottom of the iTunes window reads, "Used 26.61 GB [bar] Free: 10.53 GB." It also reports having 130 photos on the iPod. This is after restoring and reformatting the iPod. As a result, I am completely unable to use this iPod on this PC.
Things I've tried in vain:
* I have tried the "5 R's"
* Reinstalled iTunes (6.0.4) and the iPod software (1.1.1)
* Tried different firewire and usb ports
* Restored my iPod w/Color Display 3 times to its factory settings
* Removed my iTunes library folder to return the app to a fresh state just in case the XML file got corrupted. No effect. Even in a virgin state, iTunes reports the iPod as full.
* I've even restored and reformatted the iPod on my Mac Mini where everything behaves normally. Bringing it back to my PC where my library is stored and after reformatting and restoring a 5th time, the problem still exists.
* Banged head repeatedly against my desk. No effect (on iPod)
* With fist clinched in air, cursed Bill Gates and his god-forsaken operating system. No effect, though lighting did strike just outside my house).
Any thoughts or tips would be most appreciated. And, 'no' I cannot just switch my library over to the Mac Mini as much as I'd like to. My library is 2x bigger than my Mac Mini's hard drive.

Follow Up: Issue Resolved!
The problem was that I had a network drive mapped to a drive letter after the iPod's drive letter. The tip off for me was that iTunes was mis-reporting the iPod's drive size. Doing a search for that problem in the forums turned up this KB article:

My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!

Ipod touch will not turn on after a restore
I had my ipod serviced by 3rd party warrentee for a broken screen. i used back up before sending off to service. the ipod was returned to me in working order and i proceeded to restore my last back up and now the ipod will attempt to come on (apple logo) then stop after 7-10 seconds. itunes and computer will not recognize ipod since it is not on.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and I would then contact the repair place. -
Ipod wont show up in itunes after i restore to factory settings
My ipod does not show up in my itunes list but it shows up in my computer as a drive
it all started when i got my ipod back after getting it fixed ( it was a problem with the battery) well it said that i needed to restore the factory settings so i did then a message came up and said your ipod is now restarting it will come back to your iptunes list after it has restarted.... but it didnt
and now when i plug my ipod in i get a bubble come up that says:
"windows was unable to save all the data for the file F:\iPod_control the data has been lost the error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or netowrk connection please try and save this file elsewhere"
i have done everything i can to try and fix this (5 R's and such) but i have gotten no results

Mine shows in iTunes and in PC. It will also allow me to sync.
But when I do sync, it runs fine for about 10 minutes, then I get an error similar to yours with a directory location. It keeps syncing and will periodically show the errors. Then it will lock up.
I have run chkdsk, awindows utility (chkdsk [driver letter]: /R /F) over the iPod when it has been restored and it found nearly 400mb of bad sectors.
I though this would fix the problem but is has not. When I run chkdsk over it again, it does not find anymore bad sectors (it does however tell me that it has 400mb of bad sectors logged.)
I am banging my head against a wall trying to fix this, or even find out what the issue really is. I assume it is a dodgey hard drive, but I do not want to replace it and still have the problem. -

My iPod won't connect to iTunes after I restored it.
I've got a first generation ipod Touch and I started having some trouble with the internet and some of my apps just closing down and not opening for long periods of time. Go to Settings>General>Usage. How much space does it show you have?
If you connect your phone to your computer, what does iTunes say is on your phone? Do you see a large amount of "Other"? If so, you may have a corrupted database. You'll need to sync your phone then restore it as NEW (not from back up) then re-sync your data). -

I bought an iPod Nano 2GB yesterday and i had problems with updating it, so I've formatted it (not restored- formatted using the right click in My Computer and ,,Format") And still the software didn't want to install... So I've restarted computer and unplugged iPod.

After you try resetting it, does your iPod display anything when you connect it to your computer, or not?

Question:
When I sync with my iphone I get an error reporting message but the sync still works. After trying to download 10.6.3 Mac OSX Snow Leopard, this message appears every few seconds as long as Entourage is open. This continues until I quit Entourage. How do I turn this message off? It interferes with any other work I am doing. I appreciate any suggestions.I only have one video project that I ever published to iDisk. It didn't have any music or photo files attatched to it, just a few clips stitched together. I can play these clips right now in the Event Library (so I know the source files are on my computer), but strangely, under the Project Library, the project is not there. I'm almost certain that I didn't store the project on iDisk; I just completed the video and published it to iDisk (as a .mov file I think) for family to see. I've tried to figure out how to get iDisk to stop looking for this project to no avail.
I don't know if others have experienced this, but if I click on any project and on the menu bar select Share --> Remove From --> Media Browser... it lists iPod, iPhone, iPad, tv, Computer and MobileMe. Why would MobileMe be an option here? This is the case for any video project I select. Didn't iLife '11 and/or OSX 10.8 remove all mention of MobileMe? I wonder if this is part of the problem too.
Edit: I just removed every project I have from the Media Browser. Still no luck. -

Hi, I'm having problems with my iPod Touch. My iPod went off because the battery was empty. And when I tried connecting it to my laptop to recharge, the "connect to iTunes" screen suddenly appeared. According to iTunes I need to RESTORE it for it to work. And that's exactly what I did. However, after the restore and all, the screen is still stuck on the "connect to iTunes" screen.
By the way, it's a 2nd generation iPod Touch. And it's an MC model.
And to make things worse, my iTunes screen is totally empty. The RESTORE option is gone and I really don't know what to do anymore.

Formating issue after export crystal report to excel format
Hi Everyone,
I have a crystal report devloped in crystal 8.5 and i am calling this report from my .net windows application. I have a problem when i export the report in excel format. One of the column size(which is report footer) gets increased because of which my report is not properly formated. I have reoved all the blank lines and extra space but still i am not able to reduce the column size. Any help will be appriciated.

Please let us know the Visual Studio Version that you are using, just to inform you, VS2005 is compatible with CRXIR2 and above and VS2008 is compatible with CR2008 + SP0.
Do the report display properly from the designer? Does the Export from the designer in xls works fine?

My iPod nano 6G stop working suddenly; After i reset it and even afetr put it in "stand by" mode by accessing deagnostic mode, it is still not working; Now i can access it sometimes (the main screen), but is not playing and is too slow. How can i fix it
If you do not find a solution in the iPod nano (6th generation) - User Guide, suggest that you call AppleCare if still under warranty or take a trip to your local Apple Store or AASP.

Why is firefox in background prosseses for 3 minutes befor it opens
