The iPod's filesystem may be corrupted.  This may seem like overkill, but it has been known to help many others in the same boat.  Try doing a low level reformat of the iPod's hard disk using the instructions in this article.

  • My podcast was removed from iTunes.

I rewrote my podcast description and without thinking I put in a swear word.  I'm assuming that's why my podcast was removed.  Now when I try to resubmit my feed it says that it's already been submitted.  I just changed my podcast's name around 16:00.  How long should I wait?  Is there anything else I can do?  Here's the show's feedhttp://changeofaddress.podbean.com/feed/    Thanks in advance for any help.  My head is about to explode.

Waiting won't make any difference: you still haven't succeded in fooling it. You will need to make another slight change to the title, and if you can change the 'link' tag that might help. It would also help if you are able to change the feed URL but you may not have this option.
If all this fails, you could try emailing Support at podcasts 'at' apple.com though I can't promise you will get a helpful answer.

  • I disconnected my nano from the computer when it said "do not disconnect" it is now frozen and will not do anything ..any suggestions?

I disconnected my nano from my computer when it stated "do not disconnect" and now my ipod is frozen. it shows that the hold button is on and that it is now playing a song and the back light remains on. If I try to reconnect to my computer, itunes does not find the nano nor does my computer. I tired to restart but nothing happens. Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • HT3591 I was about to download (buy) some music from ITunes when they said I had to answer these security questions, however I've never answered in my hole apple experience which has left me unable to buy anything because I don't know my security question

I was about download music when it then asked me for my security questions. The problem for me is that I've never answered these questions ever in my hole apple experience and even if I did, I've 100% completely forgot about them. I then decided to email a link to deactivate my questions however this email from Apple had never come, I'm know left unable to download music, apps, and books.

You need to manage your Apple ID and change your security question there.

  • I disconnected when it said "Do Not Disconnect"...

and now my iPod is dead.
I was updating my iPod from my iMac, when my iMac suddenly had a kernel panic. The kernel panic happened a few times earlier so I decided to see what was wrong and open up my iMac. This meant I had to disconnect my iPod while the "Do Not Disconnect" sign was still flashing. Now it's dead as a dead duck. I did the five Rs several times; nothing worked. All it does is flash a sad iPod. Can anyone help? How can I restore my iPod?
    Thanks.

    1. Try these five steps (known as the five Rs) will conquer most iPod issues.
    http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/
    2. Try to put the iPod into Disk Mode if it fails to appear on the desktop

    Still can't see your iPod?
Several things could keep iPod from appearing in iTunes or in the Desktop/Finder when you connect it to your PC/Mac. The most likely causes are listed below in logical order. Check each one starting from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping iPod from appearing.
    3. Try to wait 30 minutes while iPod is charging.
    4. Try another known-good FireWire or USB through Dock Connector cable.
    5. Try another known-good FireWire or USB port on your computer .
    6. Try to disconnect all devices from your computer's FireWire and USB ports.
    7. Windows users having trouble with their iPods should locate a Mac user. We've found that in many cases when an iPod won't show up on a PC that it will show up on the Mac. Then it can be restored. When the PC user returns to his computer the iPod will be recognized by the PC, reformatted for the PC, and usable again. BTW, it works in reverse too. A Mac user often can get his iPod back by connecting it to a PC and restoring it.
    8. Try to do a Erase (Disk Utility) on a Mac computer or a reformat with a PC (Disk Management tool) but ensure you choose the right Drive (your iPod not your Hard Disk of your computer).
    9. Try to run the iPod in “Diagnostic mode” . which can be accessed by pushing the “hold” switch into the “on” position and then “off” (into the original position). Then press the following buttons in the following order: “menu” plus “select” (centre button) then press “reverse” plus “select”. This will take you to the hidden diagnostic mode screen menu. It may take a few trials and pressing the buttons in the right way for this to work, so be patient and keep trying if you have to. The diagnostic mode will give you 7 choices which are: Memory, IO, Power, Status, SysCfg, Diskmode, and Reset. Don’t bother trying “reset” because in my case it didn’t work it just took me back to the same problem. Instead, choose “diskmode”, after which you should get an odd looking “ok to disconnect” sign on the iPod screen.
If one of the above step helps to get your iPod to be recognized with your computer, do a Restore.
But, if none of these steps address the issue, your iPod may need to be repaired. You can arrange for service at the iPod Service Website.

I have an iPod touch 3rd Generation that I was updating to iOS 4.1, and in the middle of installing it I accidentally unplugged it from the Mac. The iPod is now only showing the update screen, and I cannot turn it off. I can not sync it back to iTunes 10.

Soft reset ur ipod / iphone (sleep/wake + home button for 5 - 10 seconds) it might not work from the first time but try to keep resetting and it will eventually work. After put your ipod / iphone back on and plug it in. Restore your ipod / iphone and have fun!

There have been a few posts about the quality of the film so it may be due to that, in which case it may re-appear at some point with a corrected version.

  • How do I remove a song from my ipod that has been removed from itunes but still appears on my ipod

I have an ipod touch and my problem is how to remove songs from it when they have been removed from itunes. After synching the songs still appear on the ipod. How can I fix this?

    Hi empty,
Have you deleted the song from the iPod itself? Go to the songs list and swipe left on the song title. A "Delete" option should come up allowing you to directly delete the item from your iPod....

  • Why when I removed smart playlists from my iPhone are they removed from iTunes?

So I was trying to remove some playlists from my iPhone then reload them so the sort order would be correct.  But after I removed the playlists from my phone then synced with iTunes, the playlists were removed from iTunes.  Why?  Can they be recovered?  I had a few I really liked.

    Hi Makki28,
I'm sorry to hear you are having this issue with your iPhone. If you are having issues with incomplete transfers of your purchases from your iPhone to iTunes on your Mac, you may want to double check that you are following the steps as outlined in the following article:
Re-download or transfer your iTunes Store purchases from an iPhone, iPad or iPod to a computer - Apple Support
If you are still having incomplete albums, you may also want to try directly redownloading the purchases from within iTunes, as noted in this article:
Download past purchases - Apple Support

  • I have recently had some music files removed from itunes.  The  originals are still on my ipod.  How do i restore these missing items to my itunes......

I have recently had some music files removed from itunes.  This was not supposed to happen!  However the originals (consisting largely of playlists) ae still on my ipd and I do not want to do any syncing until I have resolved the issue. Is there any way to  restore these missing tunes from the ipod to my itunes?  Grateful for any input........

You cannot transfer song files from iPod to computer using iTunes (except for songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are third-party methods and utilities that can transfer song files from iPod to computer.  If you do a Google search on something like "ipod transfer," you should get some links.
NOTE:  Songs previously purchased from the iTunes Store can also be re-downloaded at no cost, from the iTunes Store Purchased screen.
