IPOD wi-fi wont connect

I need help asap please! so my ipod generation 4 has been working complelty fine with my wi- fi but recently it just doesnt work anymore . in order to get a signal i have to go close to the router and thats the only way i can connect and stay connected (it doesnt connect anymore when im in my bedroom or like 2 meters away from the router) and my computer and brothers iphone 4 works completly well with the wifi and isnt effected , its just my ipod. i have restarted my ipod, turn of and on the router and ressed "forget this network" with the ipod and trying reconnecting again but it still just loses it connection when im 2 meters away from the router! someone please helpp!!!

Does the iOS device connect to other networks OK? If yes then you have a problem with your network
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect OK?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Power off and then back on your router
.- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
- Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

My paper work for my linksys says WEP 64 bits. I've tried changing my IPOD to that and it will say put in password and when I do I get "invalid password" or can not connect. Is your I pod Head Phone Hooked to it because that might be the problem.
What you do is hook the i pod to the front or back, i prefer the font and then have the head phone hooked to it then restart it and it should start to charge.

Your sitter must have tried logging into the device using the wrong passcode. Do it too many times and the device becomes disabled.

Ipod and camera wont connect

I have owned my MacBook 10.5.8 for 2 years. I do a lot of photography and I have a canon digital SLR. I also have an 8g IPOD touch. I have never had any problems connecting these devices until recently. Whenever I connect either of these devices my MAC doesn't read them. It doesn't even show that they are plugged in, but my IPOD will charge when connected. I have installed all the software updates/upgrades, checked many many forums and can not fix the issue. I know that it isn't my USB ports b/c I can see and use my external hard drives and printers in the same USB hubs. I am not sure if there is a certain setting that got changed that isn't allowing my MAC to read and transfer data from these two devices but it is really frustrating. IPHOTO nor ITUNES reads either device, therefore no more pictures or music???? I really hope someone can help? I don't know what changed bc like I said I have always done things the same and all of a sudden I cant.

Well I figured out the problem with my IPOD touch. I was using a generic USB/power cord for the device for my house and the original APPLE USB for my car. The IPOD wasnt connected to my MAC with the generic power cord, but it does with the apple original cord. This still does not explain my camera problem? I have used it many times before and can't connect to IPHOTO hmmmmmmmmmm
