IPod wil not turn on at all.

I just got my 1Gb Nano about amonth ago and it was working just fine until today. I had it connected to my pc and it had the fully charge symbol. It was wokring then it just shuts off. I turned off my pc and unplugged my iPod and try to turn it on but it didnt turn on period. I tried just about everything but it will not power on. Please help.

I've done everything on the list except for the battery drain. I'll have to see if that works and if it doesn't then it seems I'm going to have to send it in for repair. If there is any other solutions for my problem please help.

  • TS1363 My ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop by the USB, it does not recognize it at all.  What could possibly be the problem?  The Nano was working like 30 minutes ago.

About 30 minutes ago, I was adding some music to the ipod Nano.  Everything was working fine.  Now, the ipod will not turn on at all.  When I connect it to the laptop with the USB, the computer does not even recognize it.  The screen has a fant image of the plug on it and it says connected.  I followed the procedures for disconnecting it when I was finished with it earlier.  Any idea what is going on here???
    Thanks

It probably needs to be reset. The procedure is different for different Nano models: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/assistant/itunes/

    Is the battery charged...?
    Try a Reset...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
    Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds...
    Release the Buttons...
    Turn the iPod On...

  • My iPod will not turn on at all

Alright, my iPod has officially just suddenly died.
    My battery was full.
    I was using a 5gen 60GB iPod Video, it's about 15 months old.
I was using it about 2 hours before this happened, and it was working perfectly. I shut it off like usual, and set it down on a table. Since then, it has refused to turn on.
It's not working at all, the harddrive will not spin.
    I have tried resetting it
It's not being recognized by my computer AT ALL.
What do I do? My warranty is dead, I never bought the extended care plan. Can I still purchase it and use it maybe? Or do I have to wait so long to get this fixed.
I use my iPod regularly, a good 6-7 hours a day. I'd love to not have to wait weeks until I can even attempt to get this fixed, and cannot afford another iPod for a while.

    Try these.
    My iPod won't turn on.
    My iPod has no power.
    My iPod won't wake up.
    iPod battery doesn't charge.
If the iPods 12 month warranty has expired, you cannot buy the extended warranty as it has to be purchased during the first 12 months. (i.e. within the initial warranty period)

  • IPod will not turn on at all!!!

OK, so I was updating my software on my iPod, it was almost done, and then it turned pitch black. So, I waited a few minutes then i tried to turn it on. Nothing. Then I plugged it into my PC and it said "Windows does not recognize this USB device driver. It has malfunctioned." so I called Apple Tech Support and it said to come here and it really stinks because I had the TextFree app on it and you're supposed to use your number, and if you don't they disconnect your number and mine got disconnected so now I am really stuck. So someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HT201413 ipod will not turn on at all

my ipod just shut off and will not come back on

Try plugging it in, directly into the wall, and then holding down the lock button and home button at the same time (for 5-10 seconds maybe), then the apple should appear in the center of the screen...if it's iPod touch. Mine did that, and that was what I found on Google, to get it to turn back on.
    Hope this helps.

Hello, and welcome to the Discussions.
As you've found, a reset can cure a mutitude of iPod ills. Just don't be put off if it doesn't work first time, it may take several attempts, and is often best coneected to power.
Anyway, thanks for posting back and answering your own question. Many folks don't. : )

My 160GB ipod classic stopped whilst playing music and will not turn back on despite having almost a full battery. I have tried connecting to itunes and a docking station but will not turn on at all - HELP?!
I've had this from new for 2 years, the battery life is excellent and lasts for days so I know it's not a power issue as it was fully charged that morning. No signs of connection in itunes, it's not showing as a connected device.
    Can anyone please help?
