Ipod will no longer connect-nothing happens. Can't transfer new iTunes purch

I did the iTunes update some time ago to the latest version 7.0.2 I have had no trouble using my 5th gen ipod until today. I connect as I always have to transfer my latest iTunes purchases to my ipod and nothing happens. I tried resetting the ipod and rebooted my macbookpro. Tried again, still nothing. The ipod still has 22GB of space left on it so its not full. Can anyone help me figure out what has happened? On iTunes, the File-Sync Ipod is grayed out as well. Not sure what else to try.

No, I cannot see ipod in itunes. When I connect it via the USB cable provided, nothing happens now, I have been seeing hundreds of similar posts and everyone seems to be having this same issue no matter what kind of system they have or ipod. It's all after the iTunes update to 7.0.2 that it all quit working. It all worked fine until then. You would think with all the complaints that apple would put in a fix?

My ipod will no longer connect to itunes except for while it is restarting. However once I get to my log in password it disconnects. Also my computer does not seem to recognize my ipod yet it still manages to charge it even though it is not recognized. I have tried unistalling itunes/ installing it again. I can't seem to reset my ipod, and I have turned off my firewall and disabled my anti virus. Nothing seems to work and I am losing my patience. This just happened out of no where. Does anyone have any suggesting about what I could do?

    May somebody please help me?

  • IPod will no longer connect

Both the iPods in my house hold will no longer connect to my computer. They use to do it just fine till now. The computer is on, iTunes is up and running but the iPods won't connect. I haven't changed anything or installed any new devices on the computer either. Ive also reset the iPods, but nothing happened. What happened? Can anyone help me?

Try putting one of the iPods into Disk Mode first.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363
Then connect it to the computer.
Other things to try... These are separate things to try. Use a different USB port. If you are using a USB hub, connect it directly to the computer. Remove all USB devices from the computer, except for the keyboard and mouse (remove any USB hubs too); then connect the iPod. Try a different USB docking cable, if possible.

  • My iPod will no longer turn on after attempting to update my iTunes to the newest version.

Pretty self-explanatory for the most part. I was attempting to update iTunes to the newest version because I have been putting it off forever. It's not currently the newest version..however when it was updating, my iPod went into recovery mode (the screen flashed to the iTunes symbol & the USB symbol) & then after a few minutes of trying to restart it (pushing the home & the lock button) it went completely black & will not turn on whatsoever. My iTunes STILL will not recognize it & I have done everything to try to turn it on/get it to work, but nothing happens.
Additional details that just happened: When I try to get it out of the black screen of death by holding the home & the lock button now, the Apple icon flashes for a few seconds, but won't fully turn on, which I don't understand why? Now it's back to the recvovery mode screen.
Any suggestions? It's fully charged, I know that for sure.
I would really appreciate the help though! I walk 20 minutes to class every day & always have it with me. It's a 4th Generation iPod Touch.
    Thank you all!

I HAVE CONTACTED ITUNES THROUGH THIS REDICULOUSLY CHICKEN SH_T SYSTEM THEY USE SO THEY DO NOT ACTUALLY HAVE TO HEAR HOW UPSET A PERSON IS NOW THAT THEY CANNOT BUY FOOD FOR THEIR CHILDREN BECAUSE OF A MISTAKE MADE ON ITUNES PART.  I DID RECEIVE AN EMAILED RESPONSE FROM STEPHANIE WHO ADVISED THIS WAS PUCHARED ON A PHONE THAT HAS PURCHASED DOWNLOADS IN THE PAST. I WONDER IF SHE THOUGHT TO LOOK AT MY ENTIRE DOWNLOAD HISTORY AND DISCOVER THAT NOTHING HAS EVER BEEN PURCHASED ON MY ITUNE ACCOUNT IN THE AMOUNT REMOTELY CLOSE TO WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING ME NOW.  THAT IS BECAUSE I DO TRY TO MONITOR THIS ACCOUNT AND OBVIOUSLY THIS LAST PURCHASE WAS DONE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE UNTIL I CHECKED MY ONLINE BANKING ACCOUNT, WHICH I DO EVERY DAY.  TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THE APP STATES IT IS FREE TO INSTALL WHEN YOU PULL IT UP SO NO ONE HAS CLARIFIED TO MY WHERE THE $99.99 COMES INTO PLAY.  I WILL NOT DROP THIS UNTIL MY BACK ACCOUNT HAS BEEN PROPERERLY CREDITED IN THE SAME TIME FRAME IT TOOK YOU TO TAKE MY MONEY. I WILL LAUNCH A COMPLAINT WITH EVERY POSSIBLE ENTITY IN THE ITUNES COMPANY AND BUSINESSES OUTSIDE THAT REGULATE THEIR BUSINESS UNTIL THIS HAS RESOLVED IN MY FAVOR AS I AM THE ONE WHO HAS BEEN VICTIMIZED BY A COMPANY I INVITED INTO MY TELEPHONE NETWORK IN GOOD FAITH!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • IPod will no longer connect to Wi-fi properly

Okay, so today I had to reset my wireless netgear router due to some stupid issues, but in the end I got it to work and my desktop and laptop computers are connected to it and work fine. However, my iPod and my brother's iPod, both 4th generation touches, are no longer able to connect to our wifi access point. Before I had reset the router, we both were able to connect and it worked fine, but we always had to do the static setting under the wifi menu, as in putting in the ip and dns numbers. It worked then, but now we can't get the iPods to connect, even when putting in the same wifi settings. This could be a router problem, but then again my iPods are the only things not connecting properly. I've tried restting my iPod's wireless settings and reseting the whole ipod itself, but to no avail. Help me out Apple community, you're my only hope. Because Netgear customer service may help too, but those jerks would make me pay $70.

It appears you have a router problem. Have you tried:
    - Powering off and then back on the router?
    - Changing the encryption on the router including using no encryption.

Please see the bold.  If you're out of icloud storage, then you won't be able to backup to icloud unless you purchase more storage, but yet you said you backup to icloud.
If you really did backup to icloud no data would be loss - sounds to me that it didn't backup since you had no more free icloud storage space.

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:

If still not luck, your battery might have to be replaced:

My ipod 60gb classic is showing as fully charged until I connect it to my pc when it comes up with the error message, 'please wait very low battery' and the little wheel goes round and nothing happens, can anyone explain why this is and what i can do?

I have worked my way through the assistant and nothing works. I have tried connecting in disc mode but although the screen on the ipod is showing that the device is charged and that it is in disc mode as soon as I connect it to the computer it comes up with the error message 'please wait very low battery' and stays like that until I disconnect when it appears to be OK again. I have tried on both pc and mac.
BTW the ipod is an ipod video not classic if that makes any difference.
    Thanks

  • IPod 80 GB Classic will no longer connect to computer

All these problems started yesterday afternoon. Earlier that morning, I had synched my iPod with a few new songs without any problems. Then, I wanted to add more that night and all of a sudden, the problems began. My iPod will no longer stay connected to my computer properly. It will connect and will show up on my computer and I can access my files on it for a few seconds before I get an error message saying that the device is no longer plugged in or readable. Then, the iPod icon will disappear, iTunes won't recognize that it is plugged in, yet on my iPod screen it shows that it is connected. I tried to find help on Apple's site but none of their solutions helped and they wanted $30 to assist me, which I think is a little odd.
Is there any way to try to fix my iPod? I would like to sync new songs to it but again, with the problems it won't let me. The only other solution is to try to restore my iPod but it will erase all the songs on it and I don't have backups of them on my computer so once they are gone, they are gone. It would take a long time to get them all back and I can't use a program to rip them off my iPod because, again, it won't stay connected long enough and some of the songs I have are very rare to get ahold of.
I've gone through many steps to try to fix it. I've uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it. I've gone through so many help threads on the support section of the the Apple page and nothing helped. I haven't tried a restore yet because I don't want to lose all my songs. Any ideas as to what is happening? I can't have a warranty repair because I got it as a gift over two years ago.

Read this Apple Support Article on Restoring iPod.
    It is on step 6.
Restore would reformat your iPod Hardisk, if it is still in good condition, but some iPod Hardisk may be damage, due to abuse and misuse, so the Restore would fail.
For a successful Restore, I would also suggest that
    Disconnect all other USB devices
    Use the USB2.0 port
Do not use any USB Hub.

I have the same problem. Running Win 8 64Bit, updated to latest ITunes and now will not recognize phone or pad. Followed all advice from Apple (uninstall/restart/re-install, all in exact order) ... nothing. Spoke with Apple tech and walked through the whole process, but no resolution. Tech was trying to be helpful but has no way of addressing issue.
