Ipod will not sync with 2nd authorized computer

I recently purchased a new laptop. I downloaded itunes and authorized it for my ipod. What keeps happening is a message that says my ipod is synced with another itunes library which I know. It is on the old one. I want to keep the itunes library on the old one and add it to the new computer's itunes library. Can I do this? If so what am I doing wrong. The new computer I take to work and want the same songs on it as my home computer. I cannot listen to my ipod at work so I want to listen to the library. I have reset my ipod and have erased all songs from old computer when sync with new computer. Then I tried to sync with old computer but only a few songs made it through. HELP Me Please.

u want to use the ipod with 2 different computers right? so go to itunes with your Ipod plugged in, and select your Ipod from the Playlist bar. go to settings and check "Manualy Manage Music" then click reply. now you should be able to copy songs to your Ipod from both computersm just leave it synced with one and drag the songs to the ipod with the other.

Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.
Attempts to sync an iDevice to a new computer will remove all content from the device and replace it with content from the new, empty library.

You'll need to connect the iPod Touch to your iTunes library in recovery mode and restore it factory settings.  There is no other way.

  • My ipod is not syncing with my new computer

My new tunes are showing in my new computer but not in my old computer and my ipod nano will not sync with my new computer.  Especially play lists.  Not even new ones.  Old playlists will not sync to my new computer either.

transfer the song from the old to the new computer's iTunes.
you can use e.g. home sharing to transfer the song.

  • Ever since I updated iTunes my iPods will not sync with my cars

Ever since I updated iTunes my iPods will not sync with my cars.I have a 30g and 60g 5th gen iPods that I use in my two car. In my cars I have a dealer installed integration module so that I can navigate my I pods play list artist and song titles using the radio itself. Ever since that last iTunes update 7.3.1. I no longer am able to use this feature. I used my sister’s 30g iPod that she did has not updated and the system works fine. Can someone help me with this problem.

I have had an Alpine head unit in my car with the ipod connection for about a year and it has worked fine until recently. Now I get an error message on the ipod that reads, "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this ipod." I have tried connecting a buddy's ipod to my car stereo, and his still works fine with it. I've done the 5 R's, tried going back to an older version of itunes as Alpine suggested. My next step will be going to the Apple store with an appointment, seeing what they say.

  • My Ipod will not sync with Itunes - PLEASE HELP

I have a bunch of songs on my ipod that I have from my previous computer and they will not sync with Itunes on my new computer. I have authorized the computer, I have also selected the "transfer purchases from ipod" option, I have spent the last day reading through FAQs but have found no solution. How do I fix the problem? Thanks in advance for your help.

The transfer purchases option only works with music purchased from iTunes and you don't say if this is the case.
Here's some other option for Windows users.
First, try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.
