Ipod will not upload tunes purchased thru ITMS

When updating my Ipod I get a message saying "some of the items in the ITMS including ..... were not copied to my Ipod because I am not authorized to play them on this computer"
I have authorized several times and which now says I have auth.. 3 computers whereas I have only one.
Can some advice be given as to why this happens and also what I have to do to copy them to my Ipod please. I have invoices for all my purchased songs.

  • Ipod will not play anything purchased from itunes!!!

My ipod will not play anying thing purchased from itunes. It plays ok on itunes but it skips it on my ipod. I have restored my ipod athoritized my computer and I cant find any answers in help. Please help me!!!

    See this article.
iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • IPod Will Not Sync iTunes Purchased Music

My 20gb 4th gen iPod is no longer syncing purchased music fron iTunes… I am working with the later version of iTunes and the latest version of the iPod software… I moved my entire iTunes library to a new computer and authorized the new computer (auth #2)… I connected the iPod and synced the library, but none of the newly purchased music went down to the iPod… The existing purchased iTunes music already on the iPod stayed there… The track information is on the iPod in the appropriate playlist as if it was there, but the song is not there… If I try playing the tracks, the iPod just goes through each track in less than a second…
So I updated the iPod with the latest software and did a full update to erase the contents completely… I plugged in and began a new sync… Again, all of my mp3 in my library came across, but none of the purchased iTunes music… The track information came over, but no song… So I now have no purchased music on my iPod…
This is a new Dell XPS laptop w/ Windows XP MC edition…
Anyone with thoughts on this problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated…
    Thanks in advanced…

  • Help Please: My Ipod Will Not Upload My Itunes Library

When I place my Ipod in the cradle (w/ Itunes open) - the computer recognizes the Ipod ("Updating", "Do Not Disconnect", then "Ipod Updates: Ok To Disconnect" comes up) but my library will not import. I restored the settings (and updated software). One thing - I did move my Itunes to an external drive ("F")a while back. Any suggestions anyone? Thanks,

    Brian, Monty, & Janet:
If you moved the iTunes music files to another location without using iTunes to manage the move, you will cause iTunes to lose track of the music and possibly the entire Library.
Personally, I find it best to keep the iTunes
    i program files
installed on the C: drive. While not completely necessary, it does make sense to manage all program files under the Windows default directory, if for no other reason than ease of locating the program.
    Where the actual music
    i files
are kept is not critical, as long as iTunes is aware of their location.
    Let iTunes keep its
    i music database
file (the 'iTunes Library.itl' meta-data file) wherever it wants and
    b do not move it,
as this will completely confuse iTunes resulting in a loss of your music
    i information
See these posts for some additional information and possible solutions. Read all the links provided within those posts as well. Post back if you have more questions before you attempt to fix this situation, unless you are completely sure of what you are doing and why. Chances are, we can get your Library back to normal and then move it to where you want it to be.

  • IPod will not upload files

My 80 GB iPod crashed and prompted me to restore the settings. I did that and lost my music library. When I tried to upload it, I received two error messages: the first-- ERROR WINDOWS DELAY WRITE Windows was unable to save all the data for the file E:\iPodControlArtworkF10281.ithmb. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.
and the second-- iTunes error: The iPod cannot be updated. The disk could not be read from or written to.
I tried deleting iTunes and downloading version 7.0 a few ties and restoring the iPod, but I had no success.
Please advise me on how to proceed. Thanks.

Well, iPod let's me upload iTunes purchases. Wonder why? With the rest of the library it gets to about 500 of 2700 songs and the error message shows up. It all started when I downloaded a free video from the store. I had my whole library on the iPod, but when I tried to play the free video, then the iPod froze. After restarting it, everything was erased. I don't know if it's a glitch in iTunes 7 or what. In any case, I want to exchange this **** thing because I have spent to many hours deleting, downloading, restoring... You get the picture. If anybody hears of a solution, then I'd love to know. Once again, the troubleshooting guide did not work.

  • 20 GB Ipod will not upload

I have a 20BG Ipod I bought from a pawn shop for my daughter. I upgraded the software and reset it and it will not hold more than 29 songs. It is suppose to hold 3000 songs right? I am so fustrated I am about to return it. Unless someone has had this problem and can help me.

    hi Brittany!
Attempt to copy to the disk "BRITTANY" failed. The disk could not be read or written to.
okay, the best place to start with that error message is this document:
"Disk cannot be read from or written to" when syncing iPod or "Firmware update failure" error when updating or restoring iPod

  • IPod will not play songs purchased from itunes

my ipod will show me the album (songs, artwork, time of song, etc.) but when I press play, it just quickly skips through all the songs. So far this has only been the case with music purchased through itunes. I restored my ipod but nothing has helped thus far. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

This just happened to me on one song I purchased from iTunes (it plays fine on iTunes on my MacBook). I'm on iTunes 8.0 (haven't yet upgraded to newest version). Everything else works fine so should I do this for only one song - or is there another easier fix? I did copy the song to a cd so would it work if I just deleted the one song and imported it? Or is this a sign of a deeper problem?

  • New iPod will not redownload already purchased music

I have had to get a new iPod due to accidental damage on my last one.  The new one has successfully downloaded all my apps, but music is not downloading.  I can see all the previously purchased music on my iPod via purchased section on iTunes, i press the cloud/download button but my iPod is displaying 'unable to download at this time'.   I get the option to press done or retry, but neither of these do anything.  What causes this problem?  What else can try to get it all my music to download?

That message would indicate an Apple problem. I would just wait.

  • Ipod will not upload songs from pc

Cannot upload music to ipod shuffle. I get an error message "error -36" What is going on? My computer recently crashed and now has been rebuilt and updated. All ipod updates are included. What do I do?

If you are having the same issues with another device you may be using the wrong or outdate drivers for the USB controller.
If it was happening with one device only, I would think it was that device. Given it is happening with more than one...
Also have your tried both the USB ports on the front and the back of the computer. Never forget the physical layers, and a loose wire between the front port and the motherboard could do it. Usually the back ports are soldered onto the motherboard and less prone to problems.
Is this a work computer on a network? What drive letters are assigned in My Computer?

  • IPOD 5th generation will not upload new games

I purchased a new game and it will not upload it on my IPOD. It says it needs the 1.2 version which it has.
I installed Itunes 7 and when the ipod is sync it says it's syncing software is version 1.2. I restored my IPOD and it still did not eliminate the problem.
I can not find a way to contact support. It keeps looping me to articles and will not give me an email address or phone number.
    Someone please help.
    PC   Windows XP   none

I finally got the answer in the Itunes discussion section.
You must "authorize" your PC to use games / music purchased from the Store.
    Click on the "Store icon"
Go in "Store" -> "Authorize PC" It will authorize your IPOD to be able to load games. Otherwise, double-clic the image of the game between the Library column and the game description: a pop-up window will be prompted and you can authorize your pc.

  • My replacement iPod will not sync. I've purchase new songs and albums and can see them on my PC. but they will not sync. When I select the devises from the menu the Sync is greyed out..

I just had to replace my classic iPod, lost all my music (except previously purchased). New (refurbished) iPod will not sync the new music I've just purchased or the CD's I've uploaded. When selecting the Devises in the menu, Sync is greyed out. I need help. When I plug my iPod into the PC and is shows it is syncing it only picks up my previous music,

See this article how to transfer your data? How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
As mentioned by vazandrew, music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

so then technically I can't transfer the songs off my ipod to my itunes library?  since it is one 1 transfer from pc to ipod...correct?  So when I synch my ipod the warning screen comes up and says "there are content not in the library, erase and synch library to Itunes, only purchased songs can transfer."   Can I leave the songs on my ipod and when I purchase new songs to itunes I can still transfer those correct?  while having the others on there that wont transfer?
