I get the feeling some has asked a question "like" this but not exactly that question which makes it really hard for find answers fast to the above question. Therefore, I decided to ask it anyway. Hopefully someone has a good solution that will work.
Background on the question:
- I had to erase and reupload song on my ipod 1st gen to my new computer. Apparently the ipod could not be read by the iTunes in my new computer because the playlist cannot be opened in more than one iTunes or in another computer or something like that (this makes no sense). All this was to try and charge my ipod that does not seem to want to charge. It connects perfectly to the computer and I can see the initial blinking yellow lights on the back and front, but won't charge. I am currently working on this problem from other community discussion topics.Sync works the same way it always has, connect the device, select the content desired to sync and sync.
All the media should be in iTunes already, iDevices are not and have never been backup devices.
If this is a new computer, move the content from the old computer to the new computer. -
the computer my itunes were on completely crashed, nothing was recoverable. i bought a new computer but my ipod would not sync with it. i rebuilt my itunes library from scratch but my ipod will not sync with it.how do i get the two devices to sync?

i restored my ipod after backing it up but now all my music and apps that are in itunes on the computer will not sync across
Did you restore the iPod on this computer?
What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

Is there any way that I can put the 600 songs that are stored on my old PC onto my new PC? My iPod has the 600 songs on it but my iTunes will not let me add the songs onto the iTunes on the new computer.
Yes.
You should have copied everything from the old computer to the new one.
Type "move itunes library" into the google search bar -
I purchased a movie and it downloaded to my computer but it is not on my Ipod touch. It will not sync manually, I've tried. It shows up on my ipod as purchased but it is not in my videos. When I go to the movie from purchases it says DOW in the corner.HELP THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY
Hello,
If you have an iPod Touch you can watch movies on it.
Did you sync the movie with iTunes between your computer and your iPod ?
Connect iPod touch to a USB 2.0 port on your Mac or PC using the included cable.
Follow the onscreen instructions in iTunes to set up iPod touch and sync your music, video, photos, and other content.
Your computer must be connected to the Internet.
By default, iTunes automatically syncs all songs and videos in your iTunes library to iPod touch. If you have more content in your library than will fit on iPod touch, iTunes alerts you that it can’t sync your content. You’ll need to use iTunes to select some of your songs, videos, and other content to sync. -
Old ipod, can not get it to connect with itunes & i no longer have the computer it was once synced to. It will not allow me to do anything but turn it off & on.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
Brand new computer with Windows 8.1 will not sync to iPod Classic 120G. Windows does not recognize anything but iPod Touch? Is there a simple solution. Diagnostics have run and failed to point to a fix.
Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

I purchased a used Ipod touch 4th gen and my computer (Windows XP) recognizes it as a camera but Itunes will not recognize the ipod. Old ipod works and connects fine. Any suggestions?
Well, there is always the possibility that it's been jailbroke, in which case, you're out of luck. However...

There have been some problems accessing pages on the Apple web site. If the hyperlink gives you a "We're sorry" message, try again. -
my ipod will not update. I have plugged it into itunes and authorizing the computer but, it still says that all of the purchased product has not been transfered. It keeps telling me to authorize the computer which I have done. The purchased items were purchased using an $10 gift card, would that have anything to do with it?
Thanks,We won't know until you try the procedure. The reset will not affect the content of the iPod.

i recently got a new ipod and not yet synced it with my computer, yet i bought music on itunes off of the ipod. my ipod has recently been disabled and needs to be restored. Will i lose all my music and apps if i restore it? How do i not lose them if at all possible?
Yes it will be erased. You can redownoad iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -
my ipod touch will no longer connect to my laptop because my ipod is not up to date, but it won't find a newer software. what should I do?
the computer is a macbook pro, mac os x 10.6.08 and the ipod touch is ios 6.0.
the problem is that just updated the itunes on the computer and now the ipod won't connect because apparently the itunes on the ipod is not up to date but the iod is telling me that is is up to date, so i can't do a software update. -
I recently connected my new ipad to my itunes, but now itunes will not recognise my ipod classic, and 50gig of music has gone. ipad connects ok but no longer ipod which has been there for two years! help!!!
What happens when the iPod is plugged in? anything? any errors?
Why is 50GB of music gone? All music should exist on the computer. Only a fool would rely on a single device which could easily be lost or stolen to store their content on. -
I recently had to restore my ipod to a different computer after not using it for a long while. I downloaded an album and I see it on my computer on my iTunes playlist but it is not on my ipod playlist. What can I do? I can see I purchased the album.
- Delete and redownload by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
- If you can't delete
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device. -
Here goes. My iPod touch has all my songs on it. I have changed computers several times and iTunes has a library of similar but not as many songs as iPod. When I plug iPod in ans go to sync it says that iTunes library will replace iPod songs. I don't want this to happen I want the I pod songs to sync with iTunes. What do I do?
That really does not work since music is not included in the backup. See:
iTunes: About iOS backups
