IPod with stored Photos from vacation broken!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,
I'm destroyed... I was just returning from my two week holiday when I wanted to download the photos from my Ipod that I stored on the device during this time... But I got immediately that the device is not formated, and iTunes told me that the iPod needed to be restored (strangely the iPod Display looked normal), I disconnected the iPod and it immediately reset itself?!? Now it does not start anymore, I can see the Apple Logo for a few sec, can hear the HD spinning up then that the heads are being parked and the Game starts again....
HELP!!!! I'm afraid that I lost all of my vacation Photos! Since Apple does not provide a service to restore Data from broken iPods!?! Or do they?
I think that the many Airport X-Ray killed an IC of the iPod so it can no longer access its Boot Data...
Has anyone ever had a similar problem?
Any help is much appreciated.
Rgds.

Your post tweaked my interest and for the past couple of hours the engineer in me went on a search and study of X-ray of airport scanners and the damage that they can or can not do. There are some very interesting (but dry as dust) articles on countless studies and it was surprising to find out that their are actually very few documented cases of consumer products being damaged by airport x-rays. In one failure anaylisis document they subjected a laptop to maximum x-ray under an airport scanner for three days and had no reported damage. In another study they took a very top of the line GPS and did the same test. Another article took several different i.c.'s and subjected them to max x-ray saturation for a prolonged time with no adverse reactions. There are a type of x-rays that can induce a voltage that can under extreme circumstances produce an induced voltage that can damage the device, but these are not in use at any airport that is known.
So the chances that your ipod was ruined (fried) by the airport xray is very slim to none. Not saying that it did not happen but would be very rare. The amount of laptops that are xrayed per hour at any airport would without any damage would seem to prove this. Thanks for the tweak, my brain needed this.

  • Hi there. Can someone please help me with copying photos from my old iPad to my new one? Thanks.

Hi there. Can someone please help me with copying photos from my old iPad to my new ipad2? Thanks.

If you have a pc, when you plug your iPad in you should see the windows pop up window offering to backup the photos. Do that and it will save all your photos and videos to your computer where you can then sync them back to your new one.
If the pop up doesn't come up, double click on my computer and navigate your way to the iPad. Double cick on it an d navigate to the DCIM folder. Drag your photos and videos to your pc, then sync them back onto your iPad.

  • When I send an email with a photo from snow leopard to email of a lion user, the photo shows up in the Lion email sideways. When they email it back it returns to correct position. Is there something in Lion causing this?

When I send an email via MACMAIL  with a photo from snow leopard to  an email of a lion user using At & T , the photo shows up in the Lion user email sideways. When they email it back it returns to correct position. Is there something in Lion causing this? This also happens when in in using iphoto'11 i share/email a photo to myself and the phot shows up sideways but is in a correct position prior to emailing.

I recently tried sending myself an email through Thunderbird to another email account to see if that was the case, but the email came in with a font so tiny that it was unreadable. I had chosen a font type and size (arial 10) and just coming into my outlook inbox was virtually unreadable.
And referring to the person I work with, she doesn't have problems getting anyone else's emails, just ones I send from Thunderbird.

  • How do I get my stored photos from the cloud?

How do I get my stored photos from the cloud?

    If you mean Photoroll.
Then you should use the standard process of connecting your device to a computer.  It will be recognized as a camera and ask you to offload them.
If they are photos loaded from iTunes onto your phone (ie Albums), they cannot be removed this way.  You will need a 3rd party app such as Phototransfer.
    Cheers

  • Trouble importing stored photos from 60g ipod to iphoto.

I downloaded 500 photos while on vacation to 60 g ipod. I go to iphoto and select import which opens a window but don't know where to locate the stored photos.

    Hello there.
Your photos will be stored on your iPod in a folder, much like they have already been saved on a hard drive. From the Finder, locate your iPod icon. If you do not see one, you need to go into iTunes, go to the iPod preferences and tell it to mount on your desktop.
Once you see the iPod folder on your desktop, double click it to open, and locate the folder that contains the photos you stored on it. Drag this folder to your iPhoto window, and they will be imported.
If you find this useful or if it solves your problem, please indicate this by clicking in the appropriate icon above this reply.

  • HT201317 Why did my iPod automatically upload photos from another iPod?

I stumbled upon "my photo stream" on my iPod and I found a lot of pictures not from my iPod and few from my iPod in the photo stream. I didn't know most of the people in the photos and some of the pictures were very crude. I'm just wondering how my iPod downloaded a bunch of photos that's were not mine onto my iPod and mixed them in with some of my photos.

Try download iPod Disk or senuti. These are very helpful programs that allow you to recover files from your iPod. If you really don't want your iPod to sync, open Activity Monitor, (Located in the applications folder in the utilities folder or spotlight search) and find iTunes helper. Click force quit, then open up accounts in system preferences, and click the - button for iTunes helper.
    Hope this helps

  • Help with importing photos from camera if some pics were imported earlier

I am trying to import photos from my digital camera into iphoto and there are some old photos on my camera already. When the prompt screen tells me that there is a repeat photo, I clicked on do not import it for all such photos option. After that the screen tells me that the photos are being imported, but nothing happens. I am very furstrated, is there anything I can do? I have iphoto 6 version. Thanks!

I believe with iPhoto 6 if you upload the photos to a folder first and then import that folder into iPhoto 6 you will be given the opportunity to exclude duplicates. The import has to be from the Finder and not directly from the camera. You can test that by importing a single photo that is already in the library from the Desktop. If I'm wrong this post will self destruct 10 seconds after and all here will disavow any knowledge of me.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Problem with reading photos from Photoshop

    Hello
I have bought a new camera, a Nikon 3200. I have installed View NX2. I have downloaded Adobe Camera Raw 7.1. I have unzipped the files and I still cannot open my photos from my Creative Cloud Photoshop. Can anyone help.
    Kind regards
    Lis

Are you trying to open nikon raw files in photoshop?
Camera Raw comes with Photoshop you didn't need to download it.

  • DNG conversion fails sporadically with Get Photos From Camera

    Camera: Canon 40D and 5D
    XP SP2
    CS3
    Bridge 2.1.1.9
    ACR 4.4.1
    DNG Converter 4.3.1
Importing my files to Bridge using the Get Photos from Camera (GPFC) option results in sporadic DNG conversion failure. There's no pattern, just a lump of files that don't get converted at the end of the process. It's very frustrating because I have to manually go back and find the files that failed and use GPFC option again. Even then sometimes it fails again!
I'm attached to using the GPFC option instead of the standalone DNG converter because GPFC lets me automatically make a backup file to another disk and adds a template. But even when I use DNG Converter to import the files off my card, DNG fails for some of the files. Purging the cache only works half the time and for some of the files.
Is there any solution to the GPFC problem? I've seen people have similar problems, but with no real conclusions...
    Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

    Ramon,
No, I have tried purging/refreshing before and it doesn't help, because the un-converted CR2 files are just skipped over and put in the same destination folder as the successfully converted CR2 files (to DNG). I thought it might be a memory issue, but I never have any other applications open. As a test, I purposely opened some other applications to see if MORE CR2 files would be skipped, but the amount of files skipped was still random.
My "DNG Conversion Settings," accessed through the Get Photos From Camera dialogue, is set to:
    Jpeg Preview: Medium Size
    Compressed (Checked)
    Preserve Raw Image (Checked)
Embed Original Raw File (UN CHECKED)
Could some of my Edit>Preferences>Cache options be overloading things and causing skips? I use the default settings because I wasn't confident with messing around with the cache.
    Thanks

  • Can anyone help with uploading photos from iPad to Facebook.  Thanks

Can anyone help with uploading photos fom iPad to Facebook?  Thanks

What app are you to trying to use ? You can't upload photos to Facebook via Safari, but a number of the Facebook apps support it e.g. the 'official' app : http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/facebook/id284882215?mt=8 (thought it's optimised for the iPhone/iPod Touch it does support uploading photos), Friendly For Facebook (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/friendly-for-facebook/id400169658?mt=8)

  • IPhoto version 9.4.1 problem with imported photos from camera card reader

My wife imported a lot of photos from a camera card reader.  The  imports show up fine when she launches iPhoto, but when you double click on one, nothing happens.  It doesn't go to full size.  It just doesn't respond for any of the pictures imported.  The rest of her pictures behave normally....when clicked on they enlarge just not the ones recently imported.  I did a repair disk permissions and no luck there.  What can we do to these pictures to make them behave normally when selected and double clicked?

Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder Window should open with the file selected. Does it?
    Regards

  • I have a problem with transfering photos from iPad to MacBook Air, how do I go about doing that?

Photos from iPad to MacBook Air, I am currently trying to use my USB cord to transfer photos, but how?

You can only import photos in the camera roll, not synced photos. So I assume that you want to transfer the photos that you shot with the iPad camera. You can use iPhoto or Image Capture on the MBA.
Just connect the iPad to the Mac with the cable and launch either of those two apps. Your iPad should appear under the devices heading in the left sidebar of the app. Click on the iPad name just like you do when you sync with iTunes and the camera roll photos should appear in the window on the right.

  • Having a problem with getting photos from phone to new phone

I am not getting old photos from my 4s to my IPhone

On your 4s, save any photo stream photos to your camera roll that aren't already there by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  Then connect it to your computer with your usb cable and import the photos as explained here: iOS: Import personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer.  Then put the photos in a folder, launch iTunes, connect your new phone to your computer, click on the name of your new phone in iTunes, go to the Photos tab of your iTunes sync settings, check Sync Photos and select the folder that contains the recovered photos, then click Apply at the bottom to sync your phone.  This will transfer the recovered photos from your 4s to your new phone.
Just keep in mind that photos synced to your phone using iTunes in this way can only be removed later by syncing them off again.
