IPod within iPhone is stuck in repeat song mode

The iPod in in iPhone 3G seems to be stuck in repeat song mode. Whether I use shuffle or linear doesn't matter. I've tried rebooting to no avail. I guess I'm going to have to reset the software when I get home if I can't fix this at work.

If you are looking at the iphone screen when a song is playing, and you touch the screen once, in the upper left corner is an icon that looks like a circle with two arrows in it. Touch that icon to turn repeat off. That should fix your problem.

iphone 3gs stuck in itunes update mode

    Hello troffs,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
If you can't update or restore your iOS device
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
Turn off your device. If you can't turn it off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time and wait a few seconds for it to turn off.
Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.
iTunes should open and display a message such as: "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."
Use iTunes to restore your device.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • Why is my Iphone stuck on repeat songs?

Hi there i am a regualr user of my Ipod on my Iphone and i have not changed any settings but today every time i play an album or a playlist it just keeps repeating the same track? I have tried to see if i told it to repeat but i cant find it anywhere. Can anyone help me find out how to get it off repeating everything.
    Thanks
    Andy

    1. Play the song.
    2. Tap the now playing screen.
    3. On the Now Playing screen, you will now see play and volume controls at the bottom of the screen. At the top is track information. Under the album title is a scrubbing bar that indicates the time remaining in the song.
    4. A small icon that looks like two circular arrows is on the left side below the scrubbing bar. Tap this icon once to repeat the album. The icon will turn blue when repeat is activated.
    5. Tap the icon again to repeat the current song. The icon will change to show the number 1 inside a blue circle.
    6. Touch the icon a third time to cancel any repeat. The icon will turn white when it's deactivated.

That is a problem that many iOS 5 users have experienced. Try unsyncing the songs and resyncing them. Next try restoring from backup.

  • Restoring ipod but it gets stuck when updating songs

doing a restore. starts to copy songs and then gets stuck and doesnt go further. it says its updating - do not disconnect. ipod screen has same message but it is not charging. any advice thanks.

    For Mac computer
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab “Partition”, click either “Delete” or “Partition”, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab “Erase” , choose Volume Format as “MAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the “Security Options....” and choose “Zero Out Data” before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click “Restore”
If does not solve, please find a PC with iTunes 7 preinstalled, and do the restore there

  • ITunes stuck on repeat song

I clicked on Controls > Repeat > One last night to repeat a song. Once I was finished I clicked on Controls > Repeat > Off, which is now ticked in the menu. However, iTunes is still repeating any song that is currently playing. I tried to click on >One and also >All and then click on >Off again in the repeat menu, but nothing changes. The only way I can play a different song is if I individually click on each song I want to hear.
Couldn't find anything in the discussions about this issue. Can anyone help?

I am having the same problem intermitently.

It sounds to me like you either got defective parts or otherwise did not make the repair correctly. We cannot help  with self-repairs here, the iPhone officially not user servicable, but you can ask for advice in the forums on ifixit.com, a site which is dedicated to those attempting their own repairs.

  • IPhone is stuck in the Recovery Mode

    Hi all,
I bought my iphone today, initially it went all good. I was able to connect it to my itunes (latest version) and use internet etc. I saw this new firmware upgrade and clicked on upgrade the firmware. The itunes, downloaded the application, extracted and then got stuck in the middle.
Now when I turn on my iPhone, it has the itunes symbole with the USB connector and does not show anything else. I connect it to my computer (Dell running Win XP) and itunes recognizes it. But it tells me that i have to restore my iphone software. I click on and it goes to extract files. Starts restoring and gets stuck again IN THE MIDDLE. the iphone shows an apple and a bar on a black screen. The progress shown on the iphone is about 20% and the itunes shows 50% and just sits there for a long long time.
I have tried using a different log in. I have disabled my Symantac antiwirus software and windows firewall. Still the same result.
How do I get out ??????

  • IPhone stuck on repeat

I feel really dumb, but somehow the iPod on my iPhone is stuck on 'repeat'. I have to manually forward to the next song otherwise it will continue to play the same song over and over. What did I do? How can I fix it? I thought I looked everywhere.....

Play any song. Once playing tap the center (the artwork). Another menu will appear with progress and repeat and shuffle icons. Blue means on. White is off.

  • How do I stop my iPod from being on repeat song?

I don't know how or why my ipod got stuck on repeat song as I don't even know how to repeat a song in the first place aside from clicking back to make it replay.  I have done the first steps in stopping problems to no avail.  How did it get there and how do I make it stop?
    Thank you!

    In your iPod Menu list,
    1. scroll down to SETTINGS, press Select
    2. Scroll down the setting list to the 3rd item REPEAT
    3. Press Select till you get OFF.
    Have a great day.

  • My iPod Touch 4 is stuck in recovery mode & iTunes doesn't recognize it

I ran an IOS Software Update on my Ipod Touch 4, during which the Ipod totally locked up. Then the iTunes icon appeared on the screen, with a power cord symbol. I plugged it into the computer, and opened up iTunes. iTunes said the iPod was in recovery mode and that it could only open it if it was restored. I ran restore, which I was very hesitant to do; but I had no other option.  It took a very long time, but appeared to be working properly, no error messages appeared during the restore. It took hours to restore.. At the end of the restore process, I expected the iPod to reboot or another screen to come up on the iTunes page on the PC. Instead, nothing changed. The iTunes page stayed the same, the iPod stayed the same, with the same "iTunes" screen. After an hour,  I unplugged it.  I went online for a solution, followed the instructions to put it into DFU mode after iTunes quit recognizing it altogether when I plug it in. The iPod screen is still stuck on the "recovery mode" screen.  I have the most current version of iTunes on the PC, running it on a Windows PC with Vista.  I love my iPod and ran the software update for maintenance, and instead it locked it up and made it unusable.  It is no longer covered under warranty. I tried the health check with Apple, but they can't communicate with the iPod because it's in recovery mode.  Please help!  I live in a town with no Apple store.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

3-  After these steps my iPhone is stuck in the DFU mode .

    Hi akitestry,
If your iPhone 4 will not start up past the Apple logo, you should troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
    In particular -
    5. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more about restoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
    6. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
