Ipod won't display song info under "Now Playing"

I searched for this, but couldn't find an answer. My 60GB IPOD works fine, plays fine and displays info (and movies, photos, etc.) correctly in all areas except the "Now Playing" screen, at which point it won't display any info (song title, artist, album art, etc.)
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Patrick

My ipod had this exact same problem.

  • IPod won't display songs in MyMusic folder; can't copy songs to iPOd

I formatted my HD. I copied the library of the iPod back onto the computer into MyMusic. However my iPod won't display any of the songs that I recopied onto the computer. I was forced to reformat the iPod. My song library is in MyMusic the whole time but the iPod won't display any of it. How can I get my iPod to display the songs in MyMusic? I can't copy the songs onto the iPod as the songs are already in MyMusic.

Yes. I can see it there and play it as well...I just can't get it to transfer to my ipod from the itunes library. And it only happened with a few songs and I don't know what I did to make it so that it only trasferred to my library and not my ipod. But it is playable and viewable in my library and only when it is connected. Otherwise only the songs that are already on my ipod are viewable.
    Does that make sense?
Let me know if it doesn't

  • IPod Touch not displaying album art in "now playing" view

I recently migrated my iTunes library from my iMac to my MacBook. I did not experience any problems with the migration, and did it over my wireless home network.
Since then, some of my album artwork will not show in the "now playing" view on my iPod touch, but they do show in cover flow and in iTunes. I have synced numerous times, but that has not solved my problem.
Help! This is driving me crazy!

I called Apple and was told that I needed to restore the iPod. The problem is that I had purchased and installed the January upgrade on my iMac and not my MacBook.
I restored the iPod on the iMac and then synced to the MacBook.
    Problem solved!

  • My iPod won't display any info or sync with iTunes

    This is seriously annoying!
When I connect my iPod Touch 4G with iTunes (fully updated) it comes up under Devices and has the sync arrows button but no arrow!
I can't see any information and it doesn't sync at all.
This is important because I have no songs on my iPod
    Please help me
I have a Windows Vista laptop,
Tryed resetting iPod settings but didn't work.. should I reinstall iTunes?

well as soon as I try to upload my apps on my ipod touch gen 4 (pretty sure) it gets to step four and deletes them.
Also with iTunes when I try to log in or purchase anything it comes up with

  • IPod won't update song info

Basically when I add a song onto the iPod, it'll show up normally on iTunes (Song name, artist, album) but on the iPod Touch it will just show SONG NAME - UNKNOWN ARTIST - UNKNOWN ALBUM. This is a new issue, since upgrading iTunes to 10.6 and I have tried changing to No ID3 Tags, but nothing works. It's extremely frustrating. I dunno if it's a iPod issue or an iTunes issue since all my over songs have been updating fine.

Could you let me know when you find out? i'm having the same issue.

I reset it using the hold toggle but it doesn;t help.
This is the first time it's ever happened.
Did i disconnect unsafely one to many times??!?!?!

I think that we all know the answer to this one.
Unfortunatley the device is concidered damaged by water. Apple can do an out of warranty repair which would cost $199. Generally they would just replace the device in this case for the $199.
The alternative is to Purchase a new device.

  • IPod won't display already played podcasts

Since I installed iTunes 7, my iPod won't show podcasts I've already played. Previously, they would still be listed, just without the blue dot indicating podcasts that haven't been played yet. Now, as soon as the podcast has been played, it disappears from the listing on the iPod. They are still listed in iTunes.

    HELP
My iPod classic (2007) 80 GB FROZEN SCREEN (Now Playing window showing the song that is suppose to be playing, will not respond to buttons, Will not SYNC, iTunes does not recognize it AT ALL when I plug it in. Will not shut off, will not charge... pretty frustrated, I updated it recently (within the last 10 days....Has anyone had similar experience? If so was it fixed? Please post any help for me... thank you... I am pretty frustrated right now.

its fixed!!  After posting my problem with the FROZEN ipod classic (2007) 80 gb a screen popped up with similar subjects that I did not find in my original search.  'Rich Fleming' in the community posted a suggestion to someone with a similar frozen issue and it WORKED when I tried it.
hold the 'menu' and the 'circle' buttons down at the same time, KEEP the pressed until the apple appears. and now it is working.  Hope this helps others.

  • ITunes forgets "Always display song info" setting

I have a few computers, all running Windows XP, except one, which is running W2k Pro. When I'm working around the house, cleaning, whatever, I like just throwing on some music on, so I turn the visualizer on, with the "Always display song info" option enabled. My problem is that the XP computers keep the setting enabled over periods of time, while on my 2000 computer, iTunes seems to forget every once in a while (i'm trying to figure out if it forgets every time i restart the computer or what).
Any input would be extremely helpful.
    Thanks in advance...
    E-Machines 600is - Piece of Junk! =P   Windows 2000   iTunes v.6.0.1.3

Hmm, it looks like the 'always display song info' option is only with a single visualizer, the iTunes Classic Visualizer. Selecting any of tghe other built-in iTunes' visualizers greys out the 'Options' menu.

  • Ipod has stopped putting songs into the recently played list, Any ideas Y?

My ipod has stopped counting songs and also now wont put any songs into the recently played playlist and its really annoying- Any ideas on how i can sort this out? I've reset the ipod which has done nothing and i have also updated itunes but again to no avail- Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
    Lisa

I am also having this (or a similar) problem. For years I had an Auto Playlist of Podcasts with "Play Count is Zero"/Live updating rules so they were removed each time I synced my iPod after I listened to them. Recently, the Playlist has stopped updating. That is, the podcasts stay in the playlist because the play counts never update. They show in the podcast library with 0 plays no matter how many times I play them on my iPod.
I also noticed that none of songs I play have their playcounts updated in the Library after I play them on my iPod. All the syncing seems to be going one way (from the PC to the iPod and not the other way around). I picked a song with a playcount of 1 and it over and over just to test it out and no dice/no update.
Any clues? Is there a setting I am missing? I tried resetting the iPod.... And the iPod played tunes/casts are also not appearing in the Recently Played list....

  • HT1904 Hey my iPod won't stay on a game im playing or apps I open and sarfi keeps going back to home page

Hey my iPod won't stay on a game im playing or apps I open and sarfi keeps

Try closing all apps via the taskbar and then see if they then stay open : from the home screen (i.e. not with any app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of each app to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
For Safari you could also try clearing its cache, cookies and history via Settings > Safari
If that doesn't work then you could try a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

  • My ipod erased all its songs. And now i can't get them back onto it. Help!

Have you tried restoring your iPod, this will erase the hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings so make sure you have all your songs backed up in iTunes. Once the restore is complete a fresh installation should update from iTunes: Restoring iPod to Factory Settings

  • Ipod won't display but music still plays and i can move around in menu...

My Ipod mini won't display anything on the screen even after I reset it, I even hear the click type sound come from the headphones when its turned on. Right now I'm listening to music and the screen isn't showing anything is my screen broke???If it is what do I do???

Open the iPod Software Updater application. It can be found by clicking on the Start menu, pointing to All Programs (Windows XP) or Programs (Windows 2000), and then point to iPod.
It says that but in the computer I don't have an Ipod thingy in my programs???
