Ipod won't load into "My Library," HELP!
I was using two Ipods. One was loading music into My Library and the other was loading into a file called "Mark's IPOD." I gave the one of the Ipods away - the one that loaded into the library and deleted the songs out of the library. Now I want my remaining Ipod to download into the library when I hook it up to the computer, but it continues to open a separate file: Mark's Ipod.
I've uninstalled the ipod software and itunes software and reinstalled it, and deleted the files in "My Music," however the problem is still unresolved. Do I need to find a backup file and get rid of that?
Thanks for your help.
Hey,
did you already checked your past purchases? You can try to locate the missing music using the past purchase menu in iTunes Store.
The missing songs should be visible with the cloud symbol. Just click on the cloud and download the songs.
If the music isn't displayed here, maybe it is hidden. You can unhide your purchases in your account information. Please select "Store" > "account" and enter your password. Under the subject "iTunes in the Cloud" you should find a menu "hidden purchases" or something. Unhide the music and you should see it on the past purchases like described.

I want to add a CD to my IPod Classic, the CD has been loaded into my library but my iPod is not showing on i-tunes and I can't get the CD onto my iPod.
Well if your iPod is not appearing under Devices in iTunes when you have it plugged into a high powered USB 2.0 port, then that would explain why this newly loaded CD has not synced to it yet.
Have you carefully worked through each and every single suggestion in this Apple support document?

4th gen iPod won't load songs; my 5th gen and Nano will...
I have a 4th gen iPod that was working with no problems until my girlfriend unintentionally erased all the songs when she installed iTunes on a new computer and connected the iPod. In the meantime, I acquired a 5th gen iPod and Nano and have been using them without event on my computer.
When I tried re-connecting the 4th gen iPod to my computer, the songs wouldn't load. I've updated iTunes and the iPod software to the latest versions and still can't get it to work. I've tried restoring the iPod numerous times and when I try to sync it (either manually or automatically) it says "the required file cannot be found". It has sometimes said "an unknown error has occured (-69)" which would mean something is wrong with the files themselves, but then why would my other iPods work fine using the same files?
What's weird is that the iPod won't load any of the songs but will load the names of playlists.
Does anyone have any ideas what's going on here?
Thanks
Windows XPHi, thanks for the response.
Yes, I did try the 5 R's a few times without much success, it seems.
And I did research the (-69) error message which on the site says,
"This error occurs when iTunes tries to send files to your iPod, but a file (or files) is unusable (something is wrong with it."
But like I said, I'm confused as to why one iPod would be happy with the files but my other one wouldn't. I've tried choosing random songs to put on the iPod (thinking maybe my first song in my library is corrupted) but no songs seem to load. The other error message I get is "The required file cannot be found". But why can my other iPods find them?

I've noticed that CDs loaded into iTunes library play back at 24/96. Can these now be burned to a DVD without 3rd party software?
iTunes does not burn DVDs, so you will have to use third-party software regardless of the format of the tracks.

Fonts won't load into Leopard Font Book
My fonts won't load into my font book, but they are loading into the system. I reloaded my OS software hoping it would fix the problem, but it hasn't. Anyone with suggestions on what to do would be greatly apprecitated!!!
My fonts won't load into my font book, but they are loading into the system.
That's kind of contradicting. Are you saying you can manually place the fonts into a Fonts folder and they'll work, but can't be added to Font Book? Or they aren't working at all? If they're Type 1 PostScript fonts, read on.
Type 1 PostScript fonts are a set. One file is a suitcase containing all of the low res bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts. As an example, here's Adobe Garamond.
Adobe Garamond
AGarBol
AGarBolIta
AGarIta
AGarReg
AGarSem
AGarSemIta
The first file which I highlighted in green is the font suitcase of bitmap screen fonts. The rest are the outline printer fonts.
1) The files for a Type 1 PostScript font must have both the screen and printer fonts for a given set in order to work. They also must be in the same folder.
2) The suitcase of bitmap fonts will work alone, but output will be terrible since the system will print the fonts using the 72 dpi screen fonts in the suitcase if the outline portions are missing.
3) Having only the outline fonts will not work. You will get exactly what you are having problems with. You can see the fonts, but they will not load. That's not a problem with Font Book, Suitcase or other font manager. None of them, nor the system itself will load outline fonts without the matching suitcase of screen fonts present. -
Loading into the library at runtime?
I have built a flash animation (for a web site) that requires a number of decent quality JPG images. I don't display all of these at the start, so I don't want to wait for them all to load before starting the animation. Thus I want to be able to load these images in the background - the obvious process would involve MovieClipLoader.loadClip() method. This works fine if I am loading into an INSTANCE of a moveclip (either existing on the stage or one that I creat in actionscript) - but I really want to load into a library movieclip.
The problem is that I end up using these images in two different movies on the stage - each pulls from a movieclip in the library (that contains the image I want). So my original thought was simply to load (using loadClip()) into the library movie - which in turn would show up in the two stage movieclips that have this library clip in the timeline. However, I cannot seem to get loadClip() to work with a library object.
I tried exporting the library movieclip to actionscript (giving it a name) - but loadClip() doesn't seem to want to load into it. I can only get loadClip() to load into an instance that exists on the stage.
Sorry if I am asking a stupid question - I don't do a lot of flash programming - although I have extensive programming experience in other languages.
So can this be done? Is there another way to accomplish what I want to do?
I can easily load into an instance of a movieclip - but I don't want to load each image twice (into two different movieclips that I need to manipulate) - hence my desire to load into a single library object that end up having multiple instances on the stage.
My other thought was to load into an instance and then COPY that instance to the second instance. But I can't seem to find a way to copy one clip into another clip?
Any pointers would be very much appreciated.
Just to clarify, here is an example.
* I have several library movieclips (call them clip1, clip2, clip3... ) which contain a single frame with a JPG image in that frame.
* I have a library movieclip called bkgnd which has 10 frames in it. Each frame has an instance of the different clips above (e.g. frame 1 has clip1 in it, frame 2 has clip2 in it, frame 3 has clip3 in it etc). At run time, this move is manipulated through gotoAndStop() to display a particular image.
* I use this bkgnd library movieclip in TWO places on the real stage (two instances). Each is controlled through actionscript to display particular frames (particular images) through the gotoAndStop() method.
* I want to be able to load the individual images at runtime - my thought was to use loadClip() to load JPG files into the clip1, clip2, clip3... library clips. However, loadClip() doesn't seem to want to load into a library clip.Thank you. I was able to use the bitmap class draw function to accomplish what I wanted.
It got pretty convoluted though. Used actionscript on instances of hidden movies to initiate the loading.
Had a loader bar on images when they are used - but wanted them to load asynchronously in the background (use the first while others are loading).
There are lots of little "gotchas" with this stuff, and while flash is very powerful, it is difficult to document / take apart. Because action script is all over the place and interacts in very funny ways, it can be very complicated to figure out how all the timelines mesh and what code is running when.
I have to say I am quite disappointed in a few items - one of which is that if you associate actionscript with a particular item on the stage (a movie clip), you don't see it highlighted in the timeline and you don't see it on the movie inspector. It is kind of hidden out there unless you know to look for it.
Anyway - thanks again. Definitely did the trick..... Warren -
The file just won't load into array...Please Help!
hi i need some help in loading a binary file into an array so that i can edit the data that was saved from previous run..
i could save the file but after that when i try to load it back to memory...i can't...ie. all the information keyed in were lost...please help
this is the Code for the loading process...
public static void loadAircraft (ArrayList aircraft) {
try {
FileInputStream filein = new FileInputStream(".\\Data\\Aircraft.bin");
ObjectInputStream objectin = new ObjectInputStream(filein);
Aircraft craft = (Aircraft) objectin.readObject();
aircraft.add(craft);
objectin.close();
filein.close();
catch (Exception e) {}
}the above code won't load anything into memory...is there a way for overcoming this?
inside the Aircraft class there are four different data of which they contain two differen data types.
one of which is String and the other three are in int.
Awaiting for reply...thanksyes...its some objects of an array that i am trying to load back...
erm...i'll show you the whole code maybe...

Songs won't load into ipod nano from new computer.
Load itunes library from old computer. Installed iTunes& authorized new computer. iTunes recognizes my iPod nano (4th generation), but won't load songs when synchronizing.
Any suggestions on how to fix?I am having a similar problem. I recent reset my iPod as some songs were just skipping during play (they showed on the screen but after a second would just skip to next song), and have been trying to re-sync with no success. I have over 8,000 songs and when I attempt to update songs iTunes puts about 100 or so songs on then stops and states all songs have been updated. When I select update again it adds another 100 or so. Counting to 8,000 is going to take a while!! Don't know what to do...iTunes 5.0.1.4 9/23/2005 firmware. HELP!

The other day I bought some mp3s from Amazon (with no DRM). The Amazon download application loaded them straight into iTunes just fine. But I noticed that the application stored the files in a place I didn't like (I like to organize my music myself). So, I removed the songs from iTunes, moved the files to a proper location, adjusted the volume of the songs (so they match the rest of my music), adjusted the artist name in the tags, and then tried to re-load the songs into iTunes. No luck. Now, I can't get iTunes to recognize and load the songs. They are standard mp3 files that I can play with any other application. But iTunes won't load them, not a folder at a time, not one by one, not using "import." Nothing works. Any ideas? I really want to enjoy this new album that I bought.
I tried upgrading to the latest version of iTunes. It didn't help.
ThanksI have a very similar, if not, the same problem. I got my music from other sources, but they were all standard unprotected mp3s with nothing special at all about them. I load them into iTunes fine, and they play fine. But sometimes iTunes will randomly just not play a song. The album art is lost for the song, and I cannot modify it because in "Get Info" the tab for album artwork just isn't there. Most of the time single songs are not affected, it's usually a whole album that will just stop being playable to iTunes.
The songs also disappear off of my iPod, and if I remove them from my iTunes library (but keep the files) and then add them back, well, they simply do not add back. It's as if iTunes didn't even recognize the files as music files. If I keep the songs in my library and try "Convert Selection to MP3," iTunes gives me a useless "Unknown Error -50"
This happens incredibly rarely, but it has happened to me at least four times in the past year, and the problem has never been fixed. I am convinced that this is just a random failure of iTunes and cannot find any possible explanation for it. It's extremely frustrating because there seems to be any cause at all for this problem to occur. -

Open Finder
Click on GO in menu and a list box drops down
Press the ALT key (This will show the Library folder int he drop down list box that appeared)
Click LIBRARY which opens another list of folders
Click CONTAINERS which will open the container folder and should show a Textedit and Preview folder.
DELETE both these folders

IPod won't load video from iTunes
Hey there people, this is my first time posting in here and I really need a hand. I just bought a 30 gig video and I converted some files on my computer to mp4 and the videos are viewable under movies in my iTunes. The problem is that when I plug my iPod into my computer a warning box comes up telling me that I cannot load the file onto the ipod because the ipod won't support the video (or something along those lines). Is there anything that I can do to fix it?? Please help!!!
Thanks alot,
A.What did you use to covert them? The iPod has rather specific conversion requirements where as iTunes is a bit more relaxed. So it is perfectly reasonable to have video files that will play in iTunes but are not right for the iPod (bit rate too high, etc.)

Just bought a nano 7th gen, itunes won't load existing music library onto it
I Just bought an a Nano 7th gen, printed off the pnline maual and still can't get it to load my existing library onto to it. I tried reseting the nano and changing computer ports but it still won't load. What do I do ???
Hey there Ellens1,
It sounds like you are trying to sync your music to your iPod Nano but something is preventing the sync. If you are using the the following process to sync the content:
iTunes: Syncing media content to iPod
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1351
I would next use the following troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue:

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
Take care,

IPod won't sync to iTunes - Please help! Tried everything
My iPod won't sync to iTunes. I pug it into the computer, the computer recognizes the device. It automatically opens iTunes once it's plugged in. I was able to system restore via iTunes when the iPod was connected and it wiped the iPod. But when I hit sync it doesn't sync. When I hit the sync button for about 5 seconds the wheel will rotate on the iPod screen and say "syncing" but nothing happens on the iTunes side, (you know normally when your iPod is syncing at the top of the iTunes window it will say "syncing" and you can see the process happening as it quickly runs through the new music it is uploading, this doesn't happen.) I tried restarting the iPod and the computer, system reset, I checked in the control panel to make sure the apple device was started, (which it was,) and even bought a new sync cord to be sure. Nothing. Any ideas?
I was running into the same/similar problem. Is this a new computer but old ipod? In other words, does your ipod contain music from a previous pc? If so, that might be the problem. I bought a new pc and adequately transferred my music from old pc to new pc. My itunes library on new pc was where I wanted it to be. But when I tried to sync my ipod later, it wouldn't sync. Would stop at first step like yours was doing.
If this is the case with you, open your ipod information on itunes. It will automatically be on "Summary". Click on "Music". You will see a box labeled "Sync Music". Click on that box. Then you have the option of checking "Entire Music Library" or "Selected playlists.....". I chose entire library. When you sync, it will warn you that you will be erasing contents of ipod and replacing with contents of this itunes library. Like I said, my library was good. So I chose ok. It synced fine after that. -
Itunes for windows 7 won't load?? Please Help
I've tried loading iTunes after restarts and re-installations but for some reason it won't load. I've never had this problem before and can't seem to solve it.
Any help would be much appreciated
Thanks
TricksterFIXED IT!!!
None of these suggestions worked for me. I've started fresh by re-installing iTunes and then holding the shift button whilst loading it. This enables you to pick a new library and from this, it works!!
A bit of a faf because now i have to get all the info off my phone and in to iTunes but at least it opens now!!
Boom! ha, I came for help from the apple geeks and it turns out I'm the geek!! -
Project won't load into timeline
When I click on a specific project to open in the timeline the arrow icon showing the "film reel" (in the bottom left corner) switches directions like it's loading it into the timeline, but I still see everything in my project library. FCPX behaves like I'm seeing the timeline, but I'm not. I'm in the middle of editing a documentary and this is really bad timing for the software to give me serious issues like this.
I trashed preferences using "Preference Manager" and restarted, but it's not fixing the issue. This happened once before a couple of months ago and that trick fixed it, but it's not working this time.
Please help!
I'm using FCPX v10.0.8 on a MacBookPro 2.7 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 16GB of RAM. My media is on a Pegasus RAID connected via Thunderbolt.This happened again! It has to be a bug, and it's a debiltating bug. FCPX loads your chosen project into the timeline, but the project library does not move out of the way. The software thinks it's moved out of the way and behaves like you are viewing the timeline, but you can't see any clips.
I trashed prefs, emptied the trash, shut down the computer, started up, launched FCPX, didn't open any other apps. One project loaded into the timeline (a shorter, less complex one), and then when I went to the one I need to work on....boom! It's broken again.
I worked almost all day today and it was fine, but now it got into this mode again. I had to quit and restart the program because other things were starting to get buggy (zoom viewer adjustment wasn't working correctly and the graphics on the audio weren't redrawing properly).
I'm quite frustrated.
