IPod Won't Stop Re-setting

Okay, so my I went to start my iPod, and it wouldn't respond. So I hold down the center and menu buttons to restart. It goes to the apple logo like usual and then... nothing. It starts over, goes dark, then to the apple logo and... nothing. It will not stop resetting, and when I plug into my computer, iTunes won't recognize it.

That's normal. To disconnect the iPod, click on the little triangle thingie beside its name in iTunes source pane and then the Do Not Disconnect will go away and you can unplug it.

  • HT2305 the voice over on my ipod won't stop

my ipod won't stop doing voice over, it interupts my books i listen to, it skips over (fast forwards) on its own... i have restored the ipod many times.  IT WON'T STOP.  this is very expensive equipment and i'm very disappointed in the product.  any suggestions?  when i restore, i DON'T mark it to enable voice over.  it still happens, incessantly. anyone have a suggestion?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.

    iPod won't stop updating?

Maybe the following but your descrption of your problem is not clear.:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .
Next try placing in DFU mode and then restoring.

  • My ipod won't stop saying "do not disconnect"

When I try to sync my iPod with my new computer, the computer acts like it is done sync-ing (I think), but the iPod itself never stops displaying "Do not disconnect"

If apart from the "Do Not Disconnect" your iPod is working normally and updating then you probably have it enabled for disk use. If this option is switched on then the Do Not Disconnect will stay there until you manually eject your iPod.
Connect your iPod and in iTunes 6.x go to Preferences>iPod. Under the Music tab see if your iPod set to automatically sync (automatically update songs and playlists) with iTunes and also has a tick in the box marked “enable disk use". Remove this tick and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished updating.
If you are using iTunes 7, connect your iPod and in when it appears in the source list click on it to see the preferences pane. In the "Summary" tab see if there is a tick in the box “enable disk use". Then under the Music tab see if your iPod set to automatically sync all songs and playlists. In Summary remove the tick from "enable disk use" and your iPod should automatically disconnect after it’s finished updating.
If you have your iPod set to manual update, the box will be greyed out and ticked by default, in that case check this link: Safely Disconnect iPod

  • Ipod won't stop syncing

I recently reinstalled Windows on my computer, and plugged in my ipod. It updated all the songs and everything, but even after it's finished copying all the files, the little swirly thing that says "ipod syncing, do not disconnect" just keeps going and going. Also, it won't copy all of my videos to my ipod. That one I can't figure out, since they're all the same file type and it appears to be random selection. Why won't my ipod stop syncing?

If you're set Manually Manage, the Do Not Disconnect icon will not disappear on its own...you have to manually eject the iPod. Are you set to Manual Manage or Auto Sync?

  • Mac and iPod won't let me set up iCloud Mail. Server not responding.

When I first got in to iCloud, my Mail app on my Mac and iPod were fine, but when U went back to them some time later, they kept requesting my password and then not connecting to the servers. I deleted the account from all Mail apps and tried to set them back up again, but now it says the servers aren't responding and won't let me continue setting up my accounts.
I can send and recieve emails from icloud.com.
    Any help?

I've just had another look at it, and it seems it doesn't save your password so keeps signing out before it gets a chance to connect with the servers. The tickbox next to the Mail icon under the iCloud section in System Preferences keeps deselecting itself. This also happens when trying to log into icloud.com, where it says "Keep me signed in", it doesn't keep you signed in.

  • Ipod won't stop trying to turn off.

As the title says, My Ipod touch will not stop trying to turn off.
I held down the power button, then slid the key to turn off.
Now it has that small circle in the center that spins usually indicating that its processing, working, thinking, etc. and it will not just turn off.
    Please help

    1. Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
    2. Restore using iTunes, also restoring a backup
    3. Restore as new, without using a backup
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings
    4. If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware problem that needs evaluation by Apple or an Apple authorized service provider.

  • 5th Gen Ipod won't start after setting for a day...

If I let my Ipod sit for more than a day or two after turning it off it will not start up but keeps displaying the folder icon with the support URL.
I try to reset it but it will not reset, it just keeps starting up and displaying the folder and then turns off.
The only way to get it to work is to plug it into an external charger (not my PC) and then it starts up OK.
Does anybody have any ideas as to why this is doing this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

  • Ipod won't respond to anything

I have a 20g ipod with click wheel and color screen.
First, my ipod wouldn't be roconized by my itunes. No icon came up in the source list. Nothing would happen when I would connect to my imac.
Now, my ipod won't stop flashing the do not disconnect symbol.
I have tried resetting my ipod but it won't respond to that either.
The only thing that seems to change on it is when I plug it into an electrical outlet, the battery changes to charging mode. The battery was low but still green, is that part of the problem?
    can anyone help?

I did that last night and nothing works. I know I don't have a dead battery because it was fully charged yesterday.
besides, when I plug it into something, nothing comes up; not even the little "charging" symbol.

  • New iPod Shuffle won't stop blinking orange

My new iPod Shuffle has only 3 songs to sync with iTunes but it won't stop blinking orange.

What do you mean you can't set it up?  Are you trying to connect to iTunes for the first time to set it up and start syncing content over to it?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
