IPOD WONT COMMUNICATE WITH ITUNES!!!!

I just got my ipod nano today I thought it would be the best thing ever. But, when I use iTunes, my ipod doesnt show up and it gives me an alert telling me that it wont communticate and to re-install. I re-installed at least 12 times. Is my iPod broken, or is it my computer?????
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks alot!
forgot to say that i have microsoft XP office edition

Alright, I have had this same problem. There are a few things you can do. First of all...since you have XP, you MUST MUST MUST, make sure that you are the only user loged onto the computer. If you are not the computer does not know what to do with the ipod when it is connected...as soon as you log that other person off it should work like normal. If that dont work, restart or shutdown the computer, and try again. Again making sure you are the only person logged onto the computer...if you have any questions you know what to do!

  • Ipod wont synch with itunes

I 1st installed my ipod onto my laptop but that has since broke and I have tried to install it onto my pc and it wont synch with itunes. I cant get into my music list either. Help pleae thanks

Hi, thank you for the reply, unfortunetly i have tried all the suggestions on that link (and quite a few more).
The message is completely random as to whether its a download from the itunes store or something i have imported or a cd that i have added to my itunes. I have got to a point now where it will synch a certain amount of tracks (or photo's, books, etc) and then just give me an -50 message regardless of what it is i am trying to synch, my 80gb classic has now become a 50mb classic!

  • Ipod wont snyc with itunes

I had to restore my computer back to the factory issue. It crashed Since then I have had problems with my ipod. I have a fifth generation one that has worked perfectly for 2 years. Since i restored my computer I have had to do the 5r's removed and reinstall itunes and quicktime. I have erase and restore the ipod back to as new. Now itunes comes up on computer and all my songs are there but I cant sync the songs to the ipod it tells me ipod wont sync file not found. Please help me i have read posts for 2 weeks now and have tried most everything and nothing works.

I'm having the same problem. My iPod screwed up and luckily I had bought a warrenty with it. Apple sent me a refernished iPod but it says the same thing "iPod could not be sync'd because of missing file" what the heck do I do?!
I restored it to it's factory settings and updated it with the latest version and nothing works. Any advice on this would be appreciated :]

  • Ipod wont sync with Itunes

    Hello!
Ive plugged my Ipod into my laptop with Itunes open and it normally syncs automatically, when i came to do it today it wont sync and when i try to do it from the file menu the sync option is greyed out. Itunes wont even show my Ipod on the left hand side as it normally does. Help please?
    Thanks

Sumiko, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.
    Regards.

  • My ipod wont synch with itunes,

I moved my itunes from my laptop to my pc using the ipod as a hard disk, and now my ipod wont synch, sometimes it starts and then just hangs and says cannot copy blah blah blah due to an unkown errer 50. When i run the diagnostics the ipod cannot be found but it shows up in the list on the left of itunes and attempts to synch. Any help would be much appreciated as im desperate to get it working again, i only moved my itunes from my laptop because it is dieing and did'nt want to lose all my music, it seems that i may have inadvertantly lost it anyway!

  • My Ipod wont connect with Itunes or my computer

My Ipod touch is charging through my computer, but it's not being seen by Itunes, or by my device manager on my computer itself.
I've tried the troubleshooting suggestions mentioned here... but maybe I missed one... can anyone help?

I'm also having this problem but it seems only to have occurred once I introduced my iPad Mini to iTunes (this may have been coincidental of course!).  The cable I'm using is the one which came with my iPod Touch version 4.2.1 (bought on the 23rd of July 2010) and the cable still charges the iPod as it always has.  I don't have the luxury of being able to try logging in to iTunes on any other computer but I've tried absolutely everything that has been suggested in the support pages.  I really want to delete some of the music from this iPod but I think I need to be able to sync with iTunes to do so.  Is it just that my 3 year old iPod is just too old for the latest version of iTunes?
Any suggestions would be most gratefully accepted.

  • Ipod wont connect with itunes

cant download my music to ipod bc ipod wont show up when it is connected to the computer HELP!!!!!

From what you've said, it seems as though the iPod has some incorrect information in its memory. The first thing to do, in this case, is to reset it. This is a lot like rebooting your computer as it clears out the memory but doesn't erase any files.
To do this on your particular iPod, first slide the hold switch on, then off. Then, hold down the middle (select) button and the "Menu" button for about five seconds. When the Apple logo appears, you can release both buttons.
If this doesn't fix your problem, you may need to update the software on the iPod itself. This is fairly easy to do, but will require you to copy your music back onto the iPod again, so it's better to start by resetting it.

  • IPod Cannot Communicate with iTunes

I have been using my ipod/itunes for a while now, but yesterday when I connected my ipod (5th gen Video) to my computer itunes gave me the following error message:
"The software required for communicating with the ipod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software"
Well, I did this it didnt work, same error. So I decided to delete all itunes/ipod software from my computer and reinstalled itunes from my initial cd. Plugged in my ipod, same error. I have gone through the 5 R's those didnt work. My iTunes opens and my library is there but I cannot sync with iPod because they cannot communicate so I cannot add any new music to my ipod. Any suggestions?

    okay.
sometimes in earlier versions of itunes (itunes 6.0.x), that message could be caused by a snarlup in the registry keys on the PC. (plausibly in this case something like that might be related to the problem with the administrator account.)
in the 6.0.x days we could get some relief from that sometimes by applying the markinmadison technique:
markinmadison: Re: "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed..."
(in your case, rather than reinstalling itunes and the ipod updater, you'd just be reinstalling itunes. the ipod updater is no longer a standalone application ... itunes 7.0.x itself is used for updates and installs.)

  • Elan Sayso/Tempo Multimedia TTS? - Ipod wont work with itunes

    What does this mean?
I can put my itunes on fine and I can plug in my ipod nano 16gb...but seperately only. If I have itunes on and plug in my ipod then 'Elan Sayso/Tempo Multimedia TTS Server has stopped working' and I have to shut down itunes as it has froze.
Ive tried what apple have suggested so itunes has been uninstalled etc and my 3rd generation ipod nano works fine but it just wont work for my 5th generation.
Please help - also I am not that clever with computers so you may have to dumb it down! Many thanks

Where would I find any updates?
No idea since I don't have whatever software you are using but I'd probably start here -> http://www.acapela-group.com/

  • IPod wont sync with iTunes. Error Message occurs.

I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and when i try to sync my iPod i get the message "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod software." I tried this and it would not redownload because i already have the newest version. I also tried doing what Apple reccomended by deleting itunes, afterwards itunes would not download so i did a system restore so now everytime i open up itunes "Windows has to configure iTunes." What can i do to fix this problem? It is really upsetting me.

In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

  • 3rd generation ipod wont sync with Itunes

My ipod is a 3rd generation and my software version is 1.1.3 (the newest available). It says that it is connected to itunes, starts to sync, but nothing happens. I have tried every step of the troubleshooting guide for my ipod 3rd generation. Now I just have an ipod with all of this memory space that won't sync. I did the last step which required me to restore to factory setting and still, nothing. Please help!

That is a 4th gen iPod, and it should work with a USB port (or a FireWire port).
If you have not done a standard Restore on the iPod using iTunes, you may want to do that next.  The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  So, if the cause is related to software (or data corruption), and there is no hardware issue, a Restore should fix it.
WARNING:  The 4th gen iPod (when used on a USB port) will ask that you connect it to a USB power adapter as the last step in the Restore process.  These white square power adapters originally came with this model.  If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, you will not be able to complete the Restore, and the iPod will become non-functional.  So don't do it unless you have one.  A third-party power adapter may or may not work for this purpose.  The USB port on your computer does not work for this purpose.
