  • PLEASE HELP!! ipod wont do anything at all

Well, my computer crashed some time ago with my itunes, but I was successfully able to restore them. However, about an hour after my ipod finished updating, it froze. It wouldnt do anything, and as it was frozen while playing, it ran out of batteries a few hours later. I wasn't too worried, this happens to me alot, I just recharge the Ipod and it works. But after charging the ipod for about four hours, it was even worse. Although the screen was not frozen, all it would display is an apple and then a folder with an exclamation point. I found out that that means i need to update my Ipod. So I downloaded the Ipod Updating software and plugged my iPod in. But the program just read "Error" and kept disconnecting my iPod without stopping it. Now my ipod is still completely useless, only showing that folder, and making really loud buzzing and clicking noises. Does anyone have any suggestions?!?!?

    Haley,
You didn't say if you use a Mac or a PC. If you use a Mac fire up Disk Utilities and do a Disk Repair. if that doesn't do it then do an erase and reload the iPod software into the iPod.
    If you're on a PC I haven't got a clue.

When restoring the iPod, it's recommended to put it into disk mode first.

Reset your iPod. Hold the power and the home button for 10 seconds till the iPod restarts. No data will be lost.

  • Ipod wont do anything.

My ipod wont do anything! I go to turn it on and it just stays on the apple logo screen, and I can't do anything. When i plug it into the computer it still just stays at the apple logo. The ipod dont show up in itunes or on my desktop. I tried reseting it and it turns of and then comes right back on and freezes on the apple screen. After being plugged into the computer for awhile it will go to that little disc thingy with the bar at the bottom loading, which means its checking for whats wrong and stuff but after its done it shows the disc with a little checkmark by it. Anyway please help!

  • IPod wont show up at all.

The iPod seems to charge (sometimes), but wont show up on the computer. The iPod wont even show the "don't disconnect" icon on the screen. I've tried different computers (Mac and Win) and have reset the iPod, but to no avail. The only other thing I can think it could be is the port going bad, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything else?
    Thanks
    Dave

I have a 4th generation 64 gb iPod Touch. I had a laptop that it was synced with but it crashed. Everytime I try to update it pops up a messege saying "Erase all media and update". I do not want to do that. It wont even let me put more music on it. Im not sure what to do..Im scared because its a 64gb iPod i love it to death. It is all I own. How can I put music on it without deleting all of my media. Or where can I store all the media to restore later?

I realize that, but I was just updating to the most recent software when I got an error message & now it's just showing I need to restore. Is there a way to back it up first or avoid the resetting to factory?

Are you sure the Hold button is off?
Also plugging it in to a power supply other than having it run off it's battery might help.
    Hope you find the problem.
