Ipod wont upload songs HELP!!!

My ipod used to be able to upload my songs automatically, now for somereason it my itunes says that "an ipod is not connected".
A method i would do before was to re-install the entired ipod/itune software onto my computer. After installing the ipod would go directly to the itunes and upload the songs. Now nothing happens and ive even tried uninstalling the ipod and my itunes.
does anyone know how to fix this or have any suggestions?

Ipod is recognized by itunes but it wont upload songs into ipod help!!!

My ipod is recognized by my computer and the itunes sidebar but it doesnt upload songs that are in my library into the ipod itself. I've tried uninstalling the itunes program and reinstalling it but it doesnt work. i've also restored my ipod but that didn't work either. please help me i haven't been able to figure it out for a while!!

my ipod and itunes are updated and i tried to update my ipod with newly downloaded songs from i tunes. it says do not disconnect and the little ipod thing comes up in itunes and updates the 158 songsor w/e. then i go to play them on my ipod but they arent there! they r inthe ipod file in itunes but not actually on my ipod! what do i do! ive spent hours on this helpppp.

I have been experiencing the same issues with my Ipod. A week ago my Ipod started to act up. I reset my Ipod and it showed the unhappy face icon. I plugged it into my computer and by the morning it was fixed. Today, however, I tried to update the songs on my Ipod. After updating Itunes said my ipod contained 2993 songs. I disconnected my Ipod an checked the settings:About and it said 2909 songs. I understand how frustrating this is and I wanted you to know that your not alone in this endevor. I also tried the above solutions but none succeed to solve the problem. Hopefully a solution will be brought to our attention soon.

How Come My iPod Wont Upload T.V. Shows?

i got a problem, I bought a few t.v. shows i bought off itunes, It downloaded fine. but the problem is, it wont upload to my ipod. i have the 30gig ipod video so i know it should work. When i tried 2 put it on there it said thet my ipod is not up 2 date. i have the 1.1 version. I know it not up 2 date because the 1.2 is out. but i cant up date it because on the summary menu on itunes it says it IS up 2 date,.
Can someone help a brother out. lol

Well it says that everything is up to date, but that cant be right because i only have 1.1? the problem is, It WONT let me upgrade cuz it says im up 2 date, Feel me?
So when I try 2 upload the showes, it says I need an upgrade.

Ipod 60gb uploads songs, but does not recognise them.

Ever since I upgraded to Itunes 5.01, I have been unable to upload songs from my library to my Ipod. Well, this is not strictly true, as Itunes and the Ipod go through the neccessary functions when I drag songs from the library to the Ipod, but once the Ipod is unplugged it doesnt recognise that the songs have been uploaded, and neither does Itunes.
Can anyone help me out?

hi thanks for you reply, tried changing the drive letter but made no difference.
as i said, everyting works fine, can play the transferred songs from the ipod when its still connected. disconnection however, deletes anything i have just put on.
I get an error message on itunes from time to time saying that iTunes is corrupt, but this happens every time even when I uninstall and re-install Itunes 5.01. It doesnt affect anything obvious, unless it's the source of not retaining the transferred songs to the ipod?

Disk error...Ipod stops uploading songs after 8

I just bought a new ipod... it starts uploading songs fine and normally and then it just stops after 8 songs..and a box with "disk read error......" comes up. I have read and reread all the support info...and have updated windows as much as possible...also i have uninstalled and reinstalled i tunes..and the updater...also reset the ipod...can anyone help please?? I AM so frustrated... or has anyone had a similar problem??

You're lucky - mine stops after 2 or 3. The only workaround I have found is to stop syncing, use the iPod (listen to it) and come back later. Each time I do this it works fine for 1 or 2 new song loads and then I get the disk error. It is as though with any more it is getting "confused".
Any suggestions.

Updated iPod wont play songs

Assuming the songs play in iTunes on the computer
Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Help ASAP 80gb classic iPod wont load songs

i usully connect my ipod to my pc, but one day i connected it to a mac and tried to load a few songs on. the mac froze, and displayed an error screen saying that it had to shut down. i removed the ipod before turning the mac back on again and it had gone black so i reset it. when it came back up all my music was gone. i tried reconnecting it, and the mac told me it was unverifiable. i restored it to it's factory settings and it connects fine now, but i can only load 2 songs on at a time, it's very slow and if i tried to load more the computer displays an error screen and ejects the ipod. please help!!!

i have no songs on my ipod now and i plugged it into my computer and it says do not disconnect on my ipod, but there is no ipod thing on the side of my itunes and nothing is updating, its liek nothing is happening at all except that my ipod says do not disconenct.. what do i do?

Help!!! ipod wont synch songs

My ipod will not let me add songs. The capacity is taken up with "other" and will not allow me to add music. An error message appears and then says there is no space avavilable for music. I cant get a single song from my playlist to synch to the ipod. I also cannot select the restore option. It says that it cannot connect with the support server. Help please. Any suggesstions?

Mp4 sorted- it wont upload. plz help

i got the lost box set for xmas. i ripped it to my computer, converted it to mp4 then using pspware i converted it to m4v thingy. i managed to get it into my itunes library and when i plugged ipod fifth gen into it and it did the auto update where it puts your songs on it etc. n it sed updating song 1 0f 5 m4v00001 to blushpod and it didnt upload but it said ok to disconnect after 5mins. so i seperately did th other 4 uploads. then attempted the M4V00001 and it said updating song M4V00001 to blushpod but the bar which shows how far the upload is didnt go up and after 5mins it said ok to disconnect. then i checked my ipod and none of the 5 songs/videos had uploaded. ive been trying to do this from 6am and now its 6:38pm and i still cant do it. this is sooo frustrating. please help me. my system is a windows XP and i have a 5th gen ipod video. thanx, rach

Connect your ipod to the computer. Open itunes and select preferences. then ipod> go to the video tab> is the "automatically update all videos" box selected. If not then check it and reconeect the ipod adn that should work. If the box is already checked then check the format of the video file to make sure its a comapatible format for the ipod which is .mov or .mp4.

Ipod Wont Respond! Help!

Ive had my Ipod since last christmas, so almost a year. my warranty is about to expire too..anyway. I was listening to my music as usual and i was using shuffle. I pressed >> so i could skip some songs, then my ipod stpped playing my songs (showing the song on screen, but then just went to the next, paused, went ot the next without playing) it then just shut off and it wont turn back on. I was on half battery and i really dont knwo what to do. the hold button was off, i tried to chrage but it wont respond, help!

Mini iPod wont hold songs

HI, every time I try and update my iPod it wont hold the new songs that I put on it. On itunes it says that it has been downloaded but fails to show up on the actual ipod. I don't know what to do if any one could help that would be great!

I finally built my library back up to 537 songs. The problem is that it says that my ipod is 10.54 GB.
hmmm. in your main library window, go "edit > view options" and select "kind". what does that column say are the file types of the songs in your itunes library?

My iPod wont display songs even though it syncs them and sometimes it crashes iTunes. How can i Fix This???

I have 160 GB iPod classic it worked fine for the first few months i had it now it wont sync, if it does sync it doent display the music, videoes, podcasts, etc.or it crashes iTunes, if on the off chance it doesn't do either of those things then it takes forever to sync, and it skips certain songs that worked a minute before on it and it rarely ever plays video. i tried restoring it, formatting it, troubleshooting it.so can anybody help???

If your iPod harddisk hasn't gone kaput yet, then try my suggestion below or else send it to Apple, if it is still under warranty.
Antivirus has a tendency to freeze Itunes sync Operation with Ipod Classic, causing a timeout, which corrupt your Ipod filesystem, so all the freezing symptoms point to this problem.
My suggestion.
Connect your Ipod to the PC and run chkdsk, to fix any iPod diskerror, then disconnect it, after checkdisk complete.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
Stop the Antivirus program
Connect your Ipod to the PC
When Itunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem.
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
Sync your ipod, preferably manually Manage in small batches and disconnect after every batch, to check that all is well, since you got such a huge library.
When all sync is complete, and iPod disconnected start back your Antivirus and connect back the Internet.
