IPod works on XP but unknown on windows 7 and undetected on a Mac, I sent it in and they tell me its a port issue but they can't fix cause its vintage but no one bothers explaining why it works on XP, stupid user experience, help, I want an answer

I got the run around from staff members with none explaining to me why as well as multiple emails avoiding the question and giving me the same stupid answer as below, are you going to tell merge same thing next week when my iPhone/ iPad goes faulty, your apologies mean nothing o me if you can't solve my problem
The iPod was booked in with the fault report, "unit does not connect to iTunes"
Putting the unit docking station, it charges but it does not charge when connected to a computer
The iPod is vintage so the are no parts or replacements for it
Please accept our sincerest apologies upon this matter

thanks 0Ari0, your suggestion of labeling all the files as part of a compilation worked. After I did this i changed the media kind to audiobook, and voila, one single book appeared in the Audiobooks submenu. The individual files aren't listed under their proper artist in the iTunes music folder, but I don't really care about that. I'm ok with having the book listed in Compilations as long as it's all in one piece.
thank you
