Ipod works only after keeping it near the car airconditioning vents
I have an unique problem. I stay in the middle east and have left behind my ipod in the car a number of times. My 2 year IPod is showingm a unique problem. It refuses to send anything to the earplugs/car speakers for the first 5 minutes or so. However it operates smoothly (meaning on screen everything is fine).
Only when I keep the ipod on the air conditioning vents for a couple of minutes, the ipod starts working after making a few screeching noises..
Pls help.

I disagree. Electronic components can be damaged by excessive heat, and since the temperature inside a car here in the UK on a mild spring day can be as high as 35° C, I would imagine that in the middle east, it would not take long for the heat build up to be well above the 45° C maximum specified by Apple.
Typically, when electronics get very hot, the metal components can expand and if the temperature goes above the design limits this can force the soldered connections of two different parts to separate, thereby causing all or part of the unit to stop functioning correctly. (I still have a first generation CD player that does this due to the amount of heat it generates internally. I've repaired it three times!) If a connection breaks, there is a theory that "freezing" the iPod (or rather - cooling it down) will cause the metal to contract and thereby make proper contact again, thus allowing the iPod to work. This is not a "fix" and may not work at all.
But what I've mentioned above applies to larger devices with parts you can see. The iPod has very small components and circuits that are too small to see with the naked eye, possibly making it even more prone to temperature damage.
Consider this; some manufacturers "test-bake" their products in special ovens so that they can prematurely age them in order to test how long they will last in real life. So the fact that your iPod worked without trouble for two years in excess temperatures does not mean that it will continue to do so.
Sorry to say that it sounds like your iPod is displaying the typical symptoms of a heat damaged electronic device.

I recently upgraded my iTunes software and iPod software to the most recent versions available. Since then, my iPod will work in the car with the iTrip for only a short amount of time and then it starts scrolling through the playlist by itself without playing anything and then gets stuck in the on mode. Why wont my Tv Show Download? it only says "download error. tap to retry" and tapping doesnt work it just keeps on saying the same thing.
It appears in the download section of my itunes.
I downloaded a season of Iron Man Anime and all of the episodes except episode 1 was downloaded. I looked at the error and it says "error = -50" and when I try to resume downloading, it continues to tell me that there is a download error and it wont resume.
It also says to check my network connection, but I'm connected. So....I'm not sure what to do...this kind of ticks me off. -

Ipod works on one computer but not the other?
Can someone please help me? My ipod works on my laptop but not the desktop. When I plug the Ipod into the desktop it sometimes shows up in Itunes but says it's corrupt. Which it obviously isn't because it works fine on it's own when not plugged into a computer and it works fine when I plug it into the laptop. Also when I looked in my computer the Ipod would show up as drive j and it would flash on and off. Well, I tried plugging the Ipod into a different port and that worked as far as drive j stopped flashing on and off. I tried changing the drive name and it wouldn't let me because it always went back to drive j even after I changed it to drive z. Itunes is playing music and is up to date. I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. Please help.

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

Ever since I upgraded to 2.6.27, my net connection works only after I run the command "dhcpcd eth0" after booting in the system.Any suggestions to get net working without issuing this command would be great.!

I don't know if this will help or not, but I was having a problem with the "-R" argument and my dhcpcd.
I used to have my dnsmasq and OpenDNS using this guide: http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Pos … ure_dhcpcd
I had to remove the "-R" to get my internet to work after the last update.... it's still not fixed but at least my Internet works when I start. -

What specifically do I select for the "On Enter" of each slide?
And do I only need to put this condition in the "On Enter" section of each slide? Or do I also need to setup special conditions for the NEXT button?

The shuffle icon in iTunes disappears, after you click on the icon in iTunes? If so, if you do not click on the shuffle icon in iTunes, does it remain there indefinitely? Are you looking at the shuffle icon in the iTunes sidebar?

My Macbook pro processor is a 2.4 GHz intel Core i5 using Mac OS X. I go to the network diagnostics and it starts to work. After about a minute the ISP and Server fail. Same thing happens when I try again. My desktop internet works fine.

My Ipad 2 was working fine, after syncronizing with iTunes the contacts App froze completely, in the Settings everything works fine but if you go to the mail settings the entitre settings freezes. I am usng Outlook but can't send mails. Any body has a solution?

To anyone with the same problem described above, on THEIR iPad (if it is running iOS 7.0.2):
Go to Settings; Mail, Contacts, Calendars; DELETE your *******@btinternet.com e-mail account, that you originally set up either using 'Other', or the 'BT' option which I am sure was in the list previous to the iOS 7 update.
Then ADD a NEW account choosing YAHOO from the list of options. DO NOT USE 'OTHER'.
Enter the correct details just as you (almost certainly) had already done in your previous attempts using 'other'.
When you see the 'verifying......' and 'the blue ticks' you should be able to exit settings and open your mail app and then receive all your 'old' e-mails again, AND be able to SEND as well.
All my 'old' e-mails, were NOT found in the 'old e-mail' folder though. THEY are still in my inbox.
So this fix worked for me.
After I deleted my account from 'OTHER' and put it in Yahoo, I like other people also ended up with more folders.
I hope this works for you on YOUR Apple devices.

MY computer crashed and I had to reload the operating system. I had purchased the export PDF. However, I had not back up since my purchase and it is my understanding that this software is not stored on my computer. The export no longer works, it just keeps circling and the message acts like it is doing it but it circles and never completes. Msg says "uploading file to adobe exportPDF online"

I'm sorry that your computer crashed. That's the worst. But, it shouldn't have affected ExportPDF, since that is an online service (provided you're using a supported web browser, and there's no firewall or proxy preventing ExportPDF from uploading). First, please make sure that you're using a supported web browser: http://www.adobe.com/acom/systemreqs/
Next, I think we should consider the file that you're trying to convert. How big is it? Had you tried converting it before the crash? Does it contain both text and graphics? Do other files convert without issue?

If it's showing the disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPod and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to be able to reset it : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. -
My ipod nano 6th gen keeps stopping in the middle of a song
Double check to make sure the headphones are plugged ALL the way in meaning the white part of the headphones is flush with the Nano and no silver from the plug can still be seen.
The new headphone jacks are a bit tigher than previous generations and require a little bit of extra force to get the headphones to fully connect.

Note 3 won't answer a call by using the "answer" voice command. Other voice commands work fine (ie 'volume up') and speech to text works fine. Tried it in the car and in a quiet room at home. What am I missing?

why can't i transfer all songs on my ipod to my computer and then to my new ipad? i keep getting a message saying that about half of the files couldn't be found, and only about 1/2 of the songs went to the ipad when i first synced. the files must be on the ipod, because i can play all 448 from the ipod when disconnected from the computer. and all songs show up on my devices at itunes and can be played on the computer. but only about 1/2 are going to the ipad. i am no tech genius, obviously, but could someone please help me? thanks
Apple does not support transferring files from the device to the computer if they are third party. It is great that you were able to transfer the ones you did. There is a way to do it but it sounds like you already did it because if not half of them would not come over. The files can probably not be found because they are third party and the files are not compatible with the transfer process.
