IPod wouldn't turn on, exclamation sign appeared on screen with  x (   face

Dear staff,
yet all of my questions have been answered and I could solve my
problems. I learnt a lot about iTunes and iPods since I registered here and
started reading forums for support.
Yesterday, I left my iPod plugged in to my PC (windowds XP) for some hours,
when I wanted to unplag it and use it, it was extremely hot. I saw that iPod
wasnt correctly connected to my PC, I tried to turn it on, but some scary
message appeared on the screen. The Apple logo first appeared on screen, but
it wouldnt go white it just stayed in gray color and then it disappeared.
The whole screen went white, and a little iPod with a sad face, something like
this x( , and an exclamation sign next to it where in the middle of the screen.
Beneaeth it, the support site adress was writen. (www.apple.com/support/ipod)
I tried to connect iPod to PC, but the same thing happened, it wouldnt connect
either to windows or iTunes. I have the latest version, (7.4 I think)
but I dont know what to do. Please contact me, answer me as soon as you can.
Regards,
Alejandro Tame.

Mine is doing the same plus if I do charge it the ipod gets really, really hot to the touch.

    Thanks for the information. It seems that you have installed an OS version higher than the one supported by your carrier on your device. Please contact your carrier to get the supported OS version and try the proximity and light sensors. Let us know if you need further assistance. Cheers. ^LFC.

    Then you should try restoring the iOS software next. Read this and pay attention to the last part of the article that describes recovery mode, you may have to restore your iPad that way.

  • Iphone 3gs shutdowns random, it fails to turn on, it displays a white screen with colors lines

    I have an iPhone 3GS. It It shutdowns random, it fails to turn on, it displays a white screen with colors lines.

    I have the 3GS and it recently started the RSD.  At first I thought it was just the batter not holding a charge and being lower than what the display showed.  However, even when fully charged the RSD's occur mostly when loading either Apps or web pages in Safari.
    I have not experienced the white screen and colored line, yet apparently.  Is this the logic board like in the MacBook's?

  • I have a iPod touch 5th generation and when i turn on the device, its white screen with black lines and different colors

    I can turn off the device naturally. But when i turn it on it shows all white with black lines and different colors. Is my LCD screen broken? If it is, can apple fix it?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    If not covered by warranty
    Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $99 for 16 GB 5G and $149 for the other 5Gs. They do not fix yours.

  • My one month old laptop turns on but nothing appears on screen...help

    MMy laptop turns on but nothing appears on the black screen

    Try to launch your Mac in Safe mode by taking these steps:
    - Click on the Apple sign() at the upper left corner of the Desktop, select 'Shut down' from a drop-down menu;
    - Wait until your computer turns off, then press the Power button(⌽);
    - Immediately after you hear the startup tone, press and hold the Shift(⇧) key. It should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone;
    - Release the Shift(⇧) key when you see a grey Apple sign() and the progress bar below;
    This will force the system to perform several maintenance routines and load essential system software.
    Once you've seen the Desktop
    - Open Disk Utility application:
    1. Click on Finder at the bottom of your Desktop;
    2. Select Applications folder from Finder's left sidebar and then open Utilities folder (or press Command(⌘)-Shift(⇧)-U), double-click on Disk Utility icon;
    - Choose your main hard drive from the left sidebar ('Macintosh HD', usually);
    - Click on 'Verify Disc' at the bottom right corner, your Mac will perform a diagnostic test. Click on 'Repair Disk' if prompted to fix problems, or follow instructions given on the Disk Utility window;
    - Once the routine finished, click on ""Verify Disc Permissions"", after it's done, click on 'Repair Disc Permissions';
    Wait until it will finish and restart your mac
