IPod5 has suddenly gone into a mode that Speaks everything and I can't scroll

iPod5 has suddenly gone into a mode that Speaks everything (i.e. "screen dimmed", "screen locked", "Calendar, Monday, May 13th, double tap to open", and when typing, "a, alpha, r, romeo" etc.) but I can't scroll anywhere and I even have to highlight and then double tap to type each letter when typing - even to enter my password to unlock.
How do you turn this off?

I found this in another discussion.
Check: Settings - General - Accessibility - VoiceOver = Off.
Please note you will need to use 3 fingers to scroll to various menu items.
This worked but I found it diffucult to scroll even with using 3 fingers.

Wow!  I think I had this same issue just last night.
I was cleaning my macbook pro retina on the outside.  Then I opened it up and was wiping dust off the monitor and I can't pinpoint exactly when, but the colors changed suddenly.  It looked super strange, it was like green halo's and it looked worse when looking at it at an angle.  Of course I took no pictures!!!  I was freaking out that my 2 grand laptop was busted and I somehow removed a protective film or something.
But I digress...  The image looked very green and spacey, it was almost a neat effect.  After about 5 minutes it started to look a little more digital though.  There were straight lines of this halo effect on the edges and top.  After about 10 minutes it turned into a predominate issue with the blacks on screen.  I could open a web browser and it was unnoticable on a white background.  After about 15 minutes, you could only barely see the green cloud effect if you looked at the monitor from an extreme angle.  After about 20 minutes, it was completely back to normal, I almost feel paranoid like I see a halo or something strange.  But I believe that might be all in my head now.
So yerp, lemme know what you guys figure out.

  • My Macbook Pro has suddenly gone into 'no response' mode.

When I came back to my Macbook after leaving it for about an hour, it would not respond to any key and the display remained blank.
The sleep indicator was glowing steadily.
    The battery is fully charged.
I managed to insert the install disc 1 and restart with the C key down but the display remained blank.
I have tried starting while holding the option key down, and with the command, option , P and R keys down.
Nothing on the keyboard gets any response.
I have not been able to recover the install disc.
I have been reading about the NVIDIA Geoforce problems, but I am also wondering if the problem is with the hard drive.
When I try to start up just using the power button, I can hear what sounds to me like the drive spinning but I no longer get any 'tone'.
Any help to narrow down the fault would be much appreciated.
    John.

"I have not been able to recover the install disc."
See KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2801 *Apple Portables: Troubleshooting the slot load optical disc drive*
"I no longer get any 'tone'."
Not a good sign. Since a PRAM zapping did not work try the solution mentioned in KB Article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411 *Apple Portables: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)*
If none of the above works, you need to take your computer to your local Apple Store or an AASP. Hopefully, you have AppleCare. If so, call them & let them deal w/it.

  • HT4623 iphone has gone into recovery mode after an update

Help...I did an update without backing up and my phone has now gone into recovery mode. Is there any way to revive it without losing data???
    Please help

If your phone is in recovery mode, you've already lost all data on the phone. You have no choice but to connect it to iTunes and restore it, either from your most recent backup or as a new device.

  • HT1369 During the updation of 10.7 version of Itunes on my iphone 4s, my phone has gone into recovery mode & is not showing up in i Tunes nor in my computer  (windows xp). What shall i do so that my phone gets connected & running??

Your iPhone is in recoverty mode at the moment so to possibly get it back up and running you would need to do a restore as you have been trying. Follow the steps in the article below for the specific error messages you have been receiving. If after following all steps the issue remains book an appointment at a local Apple Retail Store to have the iPhone evaluated.

  • Is there any way to retrieve photos from a 5c that has gone into recovery mode?

is there any way to retrieve photos from a 5c that has gone into recovery mode?

No, by the time its in recovery mode it's too late. The contents of the phone are gone. Did enable any of the ways that Apple provides to back up photos?
Backup the phone to your computer
Automatic daily iPhone backup to iCloud
    enable Photo Stream
Copy photos to your computer using a USB cable and a compatible photo management utility on your computer
    Enable Photo Sharing
    Enable Photo Library backup
OR any of the 3rd party photo management solutions, such as Google Picasa, Google+, Facebook, Shutterfly?
OR any of the cloud sharing services such as box.com or dropbox?
If you have set up any one of these your photos can be retrieved from it.

  • I really need emergency iphone help- please- it has gone into restoration mode and wont come out unless i click restore- if i do will i loose all my photos and videos etc? please help!!!

i recently plugged my iphone4 into my laptop to sync, when i plugged it in, itunes told me that i needed to update my software, so i clicked up date and walked awayfrom my computer leaving it to do the rest, but by the time i came back to my laptop 2-3 hours later i had realized that it has run out of charge and because of it my phone had gone into retoration mode- and the only way to fix it was to press restore. what do i do? do i click restore or will that take my phone back to factory settings as i have a tonne of photos and videos etc that i have not backed up yet?
what should i do anny coments or ideas please let me know!

The first step in the upgrade process is a backup.
Did iTunes not create a new backup when you first connected it?
You really should be syncing your device and copying pictures off of it on a regular basis.
Starting an upgrade without first syncing and copying the pictures off is not a bright idea.
At this point, you only option is to restore.
Also, in the future, ensure your laptop is plugged into external power before starting upgrades.

My  current project in the Events Library has gone into list mode. ie a single clip on the left one above another, so showing only about 7 clips. How can I get it back into normal horizontal mode?

That's about what it's supposed to look.
How do You want it to look ?
    a. You can change places by using this
    b. May be You changed this top right symbol of an hard disk ?
    c. or changed the number of frames to be viewed ?
    d. OR - it can (at least for me) be so that You think of how it looks in iPhoto. (To me a very common mistake)

I have attempted to update my iPhone to ios8. My phone has gone into recovery mode. I have tried all of your recommendation and it will not come out of recovery mode. HELP!

Without knowing what you did and exactly what happened (error messages) all I can suggest is:
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hi Lismoyne29,
It sounds like you may have accidentally activated zooming in your Accessibility settings. Here is an article that can tell you about this feature and how to deactivate it:

My ipad has gone into recovery mode after an "error occured" whilst trying to update it. Will it come out of recovery on it's own? There is a lot of data I want to save before restoring it to factory settings

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

Stedman is quite right. You know you have to not have it on you while close to a magnetic field that is very very strong, like in the MRI.
