Ipods and Ipad seen as cameras
Got two Ipods, without integrated camera, one Ipd 2. Impossible to conect to Itunes, all three are considered as cameras. Uninstalled Itunes, installed latest version, checked cables, tried several usb ports, reset Ipod, nothing works. What is the clue ? Thanks
- It is normal and expected for iPad and iPod touches, even without camera, to be seen as a comera on the computer. That is how you get saved photo off the iPod/iPad.

When I use my iMac (os x 10.6.8) with iTunes (11.0.01) to sync my iPod and ipad all of the selected viedos are installed on the iPod touch and only one or two are install on my iPad (model MD513LL/A)? With the same selections???

Since up grading to the new OS Lion basicly problem free except my iPhone iPod and iPad all give me sync issues they load apps , music , books , movies , but refuse photos and the sync ends with an error 50 message most times , yes I have re booted reinstalled new i Tunes and all my others help ! I have update every thing I can re installed , no other issues apart from Parallels and windows which I have deleted and will reisnstall and up date when I get my discs back moving house so in storage boxes somewhere ? , but who needs Windows ? is any one else suffering , or have any solutions

Thank you for your response, When I go to the Archives, it states I have none. In addition, previously when I'd tried to move items to the archive, they just disappeared
Currently my desktop is not connecting at all, Everytime I connect, it's states "We have now logged you out" and requests I login again.
I have of course rebooted,
Gone into taskmanager, killed all the relevant threads, tried again to login through the desktop, no luck, I'll have to uninstall it, make sure the threads are killed, then reboot it and then reinstall it, but I've not had the time to do that.
On another note, and just as a point of reference, myself, personally, I hate these "cloud" file repositories (not to be confused with adobe cloud services which I love) but the file repositories themselves imho, are a blackhole of resource usage when one doesn't/isn't using them,
Is there a way we can use it more of a "ftp" sort of thing, when I want to I can put files there? There is no way to "Download" the repository, no way to download the folders.. only individual files and then it takes I think three different steps before the download starts.. I find this very inhibiting. Just an fyi. for what it's worth.

I have both an iPod and iPad 2. Latest I have sync. iPod and now I want to sync iPad, but iPad is not shown in iTunes when connected. I have the latest iTunes version.
If your computer starts image capture or some other camera software you should be able to quit that and then your iPad will show up in iTunes. Mine does this all the time.
The preference on what to start up when a "camera" is connected is found in Image Capture. So start Image Capture. It's in the applications > Utility folder. Then look for preferences. In my version it's in the lower left corner. Select None or Nothing and quit the program. From then on your iPad should show correctly in iTunes. But you will most likely have to start your smear software manually when you do connect a camera to your computer. -
When I try to update my apps on my MacBook Pro, Ipad, and Ipod it wont allow me. On the computer it says theres and error. (11111) But on the Ipod and Ipad it starts to update and completely stops. What should I do?

This issue would be caused by all your devices sharing an Apple ID for iMessage and FaceTime. I would recommend signing out of iMessage on your/her/his device if possible. Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive, tap your Apple ID, and select Sign Out. Once this is done, I would recommend that either you/her/him create a new Apple ID specifically for iMessage and FaceTime here. Then you/her/him would need to sign in to iMessage and FaceTime with the new Apple ID. You can still keep the same Apple ID for purchases. You can also change the password which will essentially disable iMessage for his/her account. You could also just turn iMessage off.

How do i use itunes for both my ipod and ipad? and have everything on both of them.
You can connect one of them to your computer's iTunes, select it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and then on the right-hand side select the Music tab and choose what to sync to that device - you can then connect, select and sync the same content to your other device.

Me and my daughter have same Apple ID for my iPhone iPad and her iPod and iPad mini. Is there any way to get an iCloud account for her devices without changing her Apple ID. She has an old iCloud account from older iPod but can't activate it or remember her old iCloud account.
ThanksYou have to use a different Apple ID to create a new iCloud account (each ID can only be used with a single account). You don't have to use the ID for anything else though, she can continue to use her current ID for other services such as iTunes, iMessage, FaceTime, etc.
The only limitation is that each device can only create three iCloud accounts. -

how can I stop my childs ipod and ipad receiving same messages, they were both set up to the same email account and itunes account. I have just set up a new itunes account for my daughters ipod and changed hers to the new account but my ipad still seems to be getting the same messages from her ipod which is what I wanted to avoid, any suggestions ?
Mel Xi changed itunes and email password. and afew others will that stop the text messages form going to it.

My iPhone 5 is not being recognized by my iMac. All my other devices, including iPod and iPad are recognized with no sync problems. I've tried every approach with online help as well as an Apple advisor by phone. Help? Any other suggestions other than going to an Apple Store?

So we now sell the covers on ebay to help others access technology that they need in order to survive and live happily as without his ipod or ipad and him telling us what was wrong he would of died he had respritory lung disease photosensitive epilepsy a metabolic condition that could of killed him anytime from stroke or seizure battled with using all types of technology but now is a dream come true.
Would love for this to be enabled in the setup of all computers alike to protect eyes and allow more users to speak and communicate a big thankyou to the creators and designers fabulous but please can you call me as this could make you even better i mean will and also give me more time.

Apple won't respond to feedback, and support can't do anything regarding product suggestions, particularly not from a company with an existing product they wish to sell. The only attention you might get from Apple would be possible interest in selling your product through the Apple Stores, and I don't know how Apple chooses the third-party products they sell. All I could suggest would be writing to Apple's corporate headquarters:

I dont think I explained my question v well. When I sink my iphone all the apps that are in the category of iphone, ipod and Ipad sync. I understand this however is there any way of changing the category the app is listed under so that I have a separate category for ipad and separate for iphone. Its so frustrating.
