IPods will not sync or even show up in iTunes after update to version 12.1.2.

Last week I had no issue syncing any of my iPods.  Yesterday I downloaded the latest version of iTunes (12.1.2) and now nothing syncs.  iTunes doesn't even recognize my iPods when I plug them in.

My Ipod classic will not sync a tv show episode on Itunes even though I already have another episode working on my ipod classic and it says it

How is your iPod configured to sync TV Shows?  What options do you have enabled from under your iPod's TV Shows configuration tab in iTunes?
No error messsages when you sync your Classic with iTunes?  Try resetting all warnings with the device by right->clicking on it from under Devices in the left hand pane of iTunes and choosing Reset warnings. Then resync your device to see if any errors appears.

Er.. is the file > then 1.03 GB, or is the total size of the files you're transferring greater than 1.03GB? If it's the former rather than the latter, FAT32 (the file system the iPod is formatted in for Windows) can't really transfer huge files. So... you may want to break the file into chunks, perhaps. If it's a bunch of files totaling 1.03 GB, then I haven't got a clue. I've transferred more than that in one go.

  • My nano will not sync or even be read by itunes, all it will do is charge.

I went from a video ipod to a little green nano like 7 months ago and it was working fine until last night. I plug it in to my computer and itunes usually pops up and then it usually syncs itself. Last night i went and downloaded a bunch of song that i liked from the CMAs. I pluged in my ipod to transfer them and all my ipod is doing is charging. It is not being read by itunes. i went to the store and they said to download the new itunes 7.5 so i did and it is still not working. does anyone hav the same problem or know the answer? PLEASE HELPP! MY IPOD IS MY LIFE!!! Thanx

  • An Album (CD) I have imported in my iTunes, and is on my iPod, will not sync over to my iPad. Why not?

An Album  (CD) that I have successfully imported into iTunes, and synced with my iPod, will NOT sync with my iPad, even though I have done everything I know how to do so. When viewing the music in "On This iPad" mode, I can actually see the album there, but it is grayed out, and in the left hand column there is a circle with dotted lines, as if it is an incomplete download--which in essence it is. But I have the album (CD) in my iTunes and on my iPod, just like hundreds of other CD's--what's up with this one?
Another characteristic is that since trying to import this CD into my iPad, I cannot get a successful sync of the iPad now; the syncing process hangs up in "Waiting for changes to be applied" for 3 or 4 minutes, and then it just stops.  No message that "The syncing process is complete. Please eject before disconnecting." The sync just quits on its own, so I take it that the syncing process was unsuccessful.
    Now what?

Make sure that your music is in the format supported by the iPhone. I use either MP3 or AAC.
A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem.

See this article how to transfer your data? How to back up your data and set up as a new device
Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
    Restoring: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
As mentioned by vazandrew, music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0
