IPos video putput to TV

Does anyone know why Apple would take the video output feature away from the iPod classic. I have a 160G classic with tons of music and movies.
I use it primarily in my car, where I have 3 tv screens and a stellar audio system. I built it around the iPod. And when I'm done, I learn I can't watch the videos on my iPod on my TV's. What the @#$%& ??
Are there any cables out there that have this "apple authentication" chip that allows video output??

http://www.amazon.com/Apple-Connection-iPod-Connector-White/dp/B000E5XHGK/ref=sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240657781&sr=8-1
This is the dock station made by apple and all the cables. I got it for 30 but they go for 45. If I were you I would look out for someone selling them for less for a while. They are brand new and work wonders.

  • Arranging Audio Books on iPOS Video 60GB

How can I sort my Audio Books on the iPOD by artist? iTunes arranges all Audiobook files after the Alphabet and not by Artist or Year. How can I do that?

That´s right. but in my first question i tried to sort my albums first under the Artist name and then by the year when they came out. So that I sort all Albums from an Artist in the order when they were published. Now I try to sort my Audiobook tracks in my iPod the same way as they appear in my iTunes. My iPod sorts them now by alphabet.
    Sorry for the confusion.

  • Ipod video is corrupt?

I have the ipos video and when it connects to itunes it says that it is corrupt and I need to restore the programs. At first it wouldnt even allow me to restore the program. Now I have reinstalled itunes 7.1 and it allows me to resore the ipod settings but when it restarts the same message comes up.
It shows up in my computer (I am running Xp) but I cannot access anything on the disk. I cannot even access it with a virus scanner. I can force the ipod into disk mode but still no love. When I ran diagnostics I got the following result.

The iPod updater logging file cannot be found.

    That doesn't sound promising
Making a copy and using a disk repair program could be an option, but that's just a guess.

  • Find monitor instance name , device name , resolution and frequency of multiple monitors (VGA and HDMI)

    hi,
In my system multiple monitors are connected (VGA and  HDMI). In need to know the
monitor instance name , device name , resolution and frequency of each monitor.. any solution?
i used wm class 'WmiMonitorConnectionParams'  to determine Video output technology connection type and InstanceName.
But i didn't get the device name , resolution and frequency of each monitor.??
There are other wmi class like :
    WmiMonitorBrightnessEvent
    WmiMonitorConnectionParams
    WmiMonitorRawEEdidV1Block
    WmiMonitorListedFrequencyRanges
    WmiMonitorDigitalVideoInputParams
    WmiMonitorAnalogVideoInputParams
    WmiMonitorID
    WmiMonitorBrightnessMethods
    WmiMonitorBasicDisplayParams
    WmiMonitorColorCharacteristics
    WmiMonitorDescriptorMethods
    WmiMonitorListedSupportedSourceM…
    WmiMonitorBrightness
    WmiMonitorColorXYZinCIE
    WmiMonitorSupportedDisplayFeatures
     WmiMonitorBasicDisplayParams
     Win32_VideoController
    Win32_VideoConfiguration
    Win32_VideoSettings Win32_DisplayControllerConfiguration
    Win32_DisplayConfiguration
But unable to determine monitor having  its corresponding values? please help me to find a solution .
is there any other method to get multi monitor details?
    thank  you

    Hi sumith,
I read some documents about WmiMonitorConnectionParams class, it should be able to get the video putput technology by the D3DKMDT_VIDEO_OUTPUT_TECHNOLOGY enumeration.
    D3DKMDT_VIDEO_OUTPUT_TECHNOLOGY enumeration
So what happens when you are using WmiMonitorConnectionParams class? What prevent you? Anyway, please see a example of using WmiMonitorConnectionParams class, maybe you could get some hints on it.

  • I've done so many things and i still can't get videos on my iPos

Ok heres the thing, i will have my video file in iTunes library, and it will be in mpeg4 format. but when i try to add the file to my iPod, an error window pops up to tell me, "Some songs such as "*insert song name here*" cannot be played on the iPod "Eric's iPod" because it cannot be played on this iPod. my problem is how can i put it in. i have the latest version of iTunes, my video iPod works properly, and the file is the correct format. If any one can help me out, it would be so helpful
    -FromMicToCan

i use pq dvd converter, and yes i do download the song, but does it matter how i download it?
How you download a file should not matter. Its format does matter. Whether you download a file or rip/convert your own material, if the target file does not contain MPEG4/AAC LC or H.264/AAC LC video/audio format, then it will not play on the iPod. Further, even if it is in the right format, it must conform to the iPod player specifications.
becuase i've downloaded a file that is mpg already, covert it, and wont work. or i'll download a file thats say .avi or .wmv and covert it, and still wont work. what should i use then?
You use whatever converter is appropriate for the source file you are trying to convert and, if sttings are required, ensure that they meet the iPod player specifications. For instance, QT Pro will con convert "muxed" files such as MPEG1 (.mpg), so you would need na MPEG based third party converter whch can extract both audio and video streams and merge them into separate audio/video tracks which are correctly frame-to-frame synchronized. I believe PQ DVD is supposed to do this. If it isn't, then check their support area for a solution to your problem.

  • Ipod too slow when reading video files via DVD player with USB port.

Hi all, this is my first message in this forum.
I've got a DVD player that has a USB port and reads all types of disks. When I use my IPOD 80 GB the files I read are somehow frozen and don't run properly (lack of sync between audio and video, etc). I've got version 1.2.1 and use it in disk mode otherwise the player doesn’t see it. Meanwhile a friend of mine uses it's 60 Gb IPO on the same player, version 1.0 and it doesn't need to go to disk mode, and the player reads perfect from it. Is this a problem of the ipod software version?
Both ipods are in Fat32 format, but in his ipod the partition is set to active. I can't change mine to that, because windows is seeing my IPOD as a removable device, and my friend’s IPOD as a disk.
Hope I haven't been too confusing, and I welcome any help anyone can give.
    Thanks.

Sorry, but I don't even know
what it is you are trying to do. Are you attaching
the iPod to a stand alone DVD player? Are you trying
to export stuff out of the iPod into the DVD player?
    Patrick
Hi, I'm attaching the iPod to a stand alone DVD player, that has a usb input port. And then read video files from it.

  • Weird video problem.....

I have 6 videos on my Ipo, all of which were working up until a few hours ago. Now, none of them will play. Music plays fine, I can view pictures etc. I can see all my videos on the list but when I play one, the screen goes black for about 10 seconds and then goes back to the main menu. What's wrong and how can I fix this????

I'm having a similiar problem. I have downloaded two half hour tv shows and I can view them fine. I downloaded another tv show and a movie and I have the same issue you had viewing them: where I can see all my videos on the list but when I play one, the screen goes black for about 10 seconds and then goes back to the main menu. I just followed the instructions regarding the 5 Rs and I am still having the same problem only now I have an additional problem where I am unable to sync my photos and itunes gives me a message that reads: unable to sync ipod - required file cannot be found. Can anyone help me?

  • Putting video onto an iPod: How?

I need a seriously deep tutorial from someone about putting my DVDs and internet videos onto iTunes (and then onto my iPod). I use a Windows PC and need a step-by-step-by-step guide on how I go about doing this. Thank you very much

Now, one last thing. You said in a different thread that I need to use a DVD decryptor before I use Videora. What is it and how does it work? Also the machine that I have iTunes on can't play DVDs. I can do all the converting on a seperate machine that can play DVDs but if I put the file on my iPod external hard disk and transfer it over to my regular machine, will it be able to read the file? Even if it can't, will I still be able to put it on iTunes and susequently, my iPo and play it as normal??

  • ITunes, How do I burn a video to an iPod

    Hi!
1st time user. I bought my daughter an iPod Touch and I want to put Gossip Girl 2nd season onto her iPod. Can I purchase it on my iTunes and then transfer it to her iPo? I guess my question is "Will iTunes recognize the 2nd iPod so I can transfer the videos to it? Thanks!!

Certainly, the fastest way to do this is by acquiring something like Toast, which will convert most videos to DVD. (I purchased my copy through a MacUpdate bundle, at a cut-rate price.)
I haven't used it, but Apple's iDVD will do the job, as well.

  • Iphoto crashing after using mini-dvi to video adapter

Hi, IPhoto on my Macbook is crashing. I can open it, then as soon as I scroll down it locks up and I have to force quit.
This started happening right after I used a Mini-DVI to Video Adapter cable to hook my macbook up to my TV. The adapter/s-video connection worked and I was able to see the video on the tv. But iphoto immediately locked up the computer when I went to slide show and now it locks every time I open it.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you:)
    Dorothy

It means that the issue resides in your existing Library.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

  • Wrong 'mini dvi to video' adapter for my 12" Powerbook 1.33

I recently bought the M9319 mini dvi - video adapter for my 12" Powerbook 1.33 to find that the mini dvi on the adapter is a different size to the one on the computer and the adapters supplied with the computer.
I've been doing a bit of research into this and it seems a bit of a grey area. Apple have not made it clear in advertising this product that it is only suitable for the newest 12" Powerbooks and even state that it will work with a 1.33 machine in their following article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=86507
Has anyone had a similar experience, or suggest an alternative product that will work? Did Apple make an older version that works with the 1.33?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Graeme.

Just took the adapter to my local Apple store and they identified it as a mini VGA to video adapter - not what it said on the packaging!
I've noticed a few posts with this problem, so just double check before you leave the store that the packaging matches the product.

  • Apple Mini DVI to Video Adapter - do you need cables as well?????????????

Apple Mini DVI to Video Adapter
i have this already, but do i need a certain cable to go into the TV. as it only has one port instead of the usual 3 av leads have???
    help please,confused...............

Look in your question and you'll find the answer...
Apple mini DVI to Video Adapter
...the usual 3 av (audio/video) leads...
DVI is video only so you only need one port... if you were hooking up audio and video you'd need three (1 for video - 2 for the left/right audio channels)

  • Macbook + mini-DVI to video adapter problems!

    Hi,
My roommate and I both have Macbooks - I got mine in June '06, it's one of the older black 80 gb models and hers is a white 120 gb that she got in August '07. We bought a mini-DVI to video adapter so we could watch DVDs and video files on our TV, but have been having some trouble with it lately. At first, it worked perfectly with her computer, but in the past few weeks has been malfunctioning - when she plugs it in, the default background shows up on the TV screen but nothing else, any windows she has open only show up on the TV if she drags them to the right on her screen until she can't see them on her computer anymore, so we're unable to watch anything fullscreen. Any tips on how to fix this?
Also, the adapter has never worked with my computer - any time I plug mine in, my computer display becomes enlarged and slightly distorted, and on the TV screen is distorted by horizontal lines that move up and down the screen. Any ideas here?
Thanks so much for the help!

    Hi cbeth,
    welcome to macbook forum.
For your friend macbook, try to press F7 back and forth to switch between mirror and expanded mode.
Try to update your macbook hardware firmware and software using software updater and repair permission after that...application/utilities/disk utility/repair permission.
Also reset your PRAM and PMU.
Open your friend system preference / display and try to compare and set yours similar to hers, including resolution, color depth, refresh rate.
    Good Luck.

  • Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter for eMac ?

    Hi,
I use an Apple Mini DVI to VGA on my eMac to expand my monitor space, connect to an old Pinceton 15" lcd, both are on 1024 x 768 res in millions colors, and work fine.
My question is I have plan to buy an Apple Mini-DVI to Video Adapter since some of my project require a transfer process to an old vcr or Sony TRV-27 mini dv cam.
Would the adapter compatible for my eMac mini DVI port ? because eMac is not mentioned as apple compatible for this adapter at apple store, yet there is a review said it work great on ones eMac.
Anybody else using this adapter that would share with me ?
    Thank you.

look like it is indeed an apple mini vga adapter that I use, and now I need an adapter that allow me to connect to a TV, VCR or Mini-DV camcorder.
will that Apple Mini-DVI to Video adapter compatible to my eMac. Or do they have mini-vga to video adapter on aapple store.
    Thank you any information.
