Iprint mobile 1.0.1 garbage printing with external renderer

I have iprint appliance 1.0.1 up(demo download) and running and my apple ipad/phone is discovering the printer.
printer is ricoh 3001 (no postscript option)
I have external windows renderer installed and the correct ricoh PCL driver installed on the renderer.
I have followed the instructions in iprint appliance admin & user guide line by line. (External renderer is Win 7 64 bit, MS office 2010, PCL driver for the printer, Adobe X pro)
However when I print an image or pdf etc it prints garbage, page skips..resembling a postscript command sent to a non PS printer.
would appreciate if support can reach out to me. We are seriously evaluating a corporate wide solution for apple airprint.

Hi.
1. Initially it was an upgrade from SL, but after all the printer problems I had, I've done a clean install and then imported my profile from Time Machine.
2. This happen with this printer (Xerox Phaser 6140DN). I have also an HP CP1700 that does'nt present any problem (apparently)
3. Xerox Phaser 6140DN
4. I tried also to create another user and the problem is the same.
Today i also installed another, more recent, driver of this printer (version 2.1) but, with all the crashes i described in my first post, it has another problem, too: after every page it prints (when it prints...) the printer enters in "Pause", not deleting the work done.
This morning I rebuild all the permissions, cleared all the caches with Onyx, but everything has been unuseful. I don't know what else can i do...

    Hi,
We can't have an answer because we don't know your printer. HP Photosmart Premium is a series of many printers. Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If YES, you can use this to fix/setup:
    iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airprint/
    iPhone: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
If NO you have to print using other apps such as :

  • Remote printing with iPad

I have installed the HP Print app on the iPad and have no issues printing when I am on the local net work. When I try and print when I am not on the network I receive an error that states: "oops we cannot complete the print job please try again" and there is a retry or cancel selection. My printer is set up with an email address. I can print from my Samsung note 2 using the HP Print app with no issues either on the network or off. Any ideas?

Have you tried the ePrint mobile app?

    Hi there Hank,
Sorry to hear you're having a rough go with the printer.
As for the 8000 wireless, I would guess that you got a newbie tech rep on the phone. I couldn't figure out why they said there's no workaround, because I had been able to get older printers going with HP troubleshooting documents. So here are a few that might help:
    1. Install the printer on your network (if it isn't already) Installing the Printer Software for a Wireless Network Connection
    2. Download the HP E-Print Mobile App for iOS. It should still work with non- eprint printers: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/hp-eprint/id299531647?mt=8
    3. Take a glance at this tutorial video, for some quick tips on getting started: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1z1pSC8WHI
    Hope this helps

  • Can not print with HP LaserJet 6L since the upgrade to Mavericks.

Can not print with HP LaserJet 6L since the upgrade to Mavericks. Any alternative driver for this printer?

I have an HP LaserJet 5P and had the same problem. My LaserJet is connected to a D-Link ethernet print server, then to an Airport Express to support wireless printing.
As recommended in earlier posts, I first downloaded the Gutenprint HP drivers at Sourceforge, version 5.2.9 That did not work. Then found the reference to the Apple kb here: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907
Downloaded these drivers. When setting up the printer, I got the autoselect option for Generic Postscript Printer and used that. Printer worked, but printed out garbage. I then deleted the printer, and this time selected the HP LaserJet 5P CUPS + Gutenprint v.5.2.9 THAT WORKED! I don't know if was the combination of downloading the drivers from Sourceforge and the Apple kb, or just the Apple kb that solved the problem, but I'm glad this is now sorted.
I was a bit surprised when I hit this snag to begin with because the last upgrade I did from Lion to Mountain Lion, I did not have this issue. It was seamless.

  • How do i do a 2-sided print with eprint?

How do I do a 2-sided print with ePrint?  I know how to do it when I print normally.

    Hi,
The ePrint service by itself does not support 2-sided printing:
Are there any limitations that I should be aware of when using ePrint?
Duplexing (printing on both sides of the page) is not supported.http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c02983559&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=5070121&tmp...
You may bypass this limitation however by using the HP ePrint Mobile Driver.
It will ass additional printer driver into your PC which configured to send your print job via ePrint and this driver do support Duplex printing.
You may download the driver below:

  • Using printer with cellphone and ipad

Do I need my printer hooked to a computer or can I just use it for my iPad and cell phone (Samsung galaxy 5). My desk top computer took a dive but I want to use printer for pics on my cell and ipad

Hello , Welcome to the HP Forums, and thanks for posting! I understand you are trying to use your HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One printer with your iPad and Android phone. I'd love to help you with this. Was the printer connected wirelessly when you were using it with your computer? If it is still connected to your Wireless network, then you'll be able to print from your mobile devices. On the Android, search for HP ePrint in your Play Store and download it. (Note: the phone will need to have the Wifi turned on and connected to the same network as the printer). On the iPad, open your app store and search for the HP ePrint app. Both devices should be able to work using the same app. Hope this helps!

  • HT4356 Can't print with iPhone 4 s and epson nx430

I have an epson nx 430 printer. Ii use to be able to print with AirPrint using my iPhone 4 s but now I get no AirPrint found. I turned off bluetooth and now im able to print using epson iprint application, still i cant print using airprint!!Help please!

Hello, my name is Syd and I work for Epson America.
For Airprint to work correcly, please make sure the following steps are done.
    1. The printer is connected to the same wireless network as your iPhone and computer.
    2. On your computer, run Download Navigator. This should have been installed during initial setup in the Epson folder inside your Applications folder.
    3. Run all firmware updates. It is necessary to have the newest firmware for AirPrint to be enabled on your printer.
    4. Restart the printer.
    5. On your IOS device when printing, click the appropriate icon (depending on app) and select printer. Please wait if the printer name does not show immediately, as interference may cause a delay in the name appearing.
    6. Tap print.
If this does not resolve the issue or you would like a walk through of the procedure, please contact Epson tech support at 562-276-4382 and they would be happy with further assistance.

  • I have a iPhone 4S and a Cannon Printer with AirPrint. I have the printer and the iPhone both on the same network, however I still can't locate the printer on the phone. Works just fine with the laptop on the same network. Any suggestions?

I have a iPhone 4S and a Cannon Printer with AirPrint. I have the printer and the iPhone both on the same network, however I still can't locate the printer on the phone. Works just fine with the laptop on the same network. Any suggestions?

ok no problem! all i did was 1) set up the mobile hotspot on my phone. 2)  turn it and wifi on on the phone. 3)  connect the laptop/desktop to the hotspot network. 4) insert setup disk for the printer and begin setup. 5) complete the setup "using a usb cord to temporarilly connect the computer and printer" 6) unplug usb cable and finish set up on the laptop/desktop. 7) give it a few minutes to show up on the AirPrint menu on the phone. 8) that should be it. I unplugged the printer and plugged it back in, made sure the laptop was totally turned off AND disconnected from the network, and did everything I could to try and make it not work. The printer I have is a Canon MG3122, it doesn't have a fancy screen or even a way to input a password or anything like that, so it just strores a default network that it will connect to. in order to change networks i would have to complete setup multiple times. Since I only plan to use it with AirPrint for my mobile business....the one network is just fine! Hope this helps!

you can't unless it's an AirPrint enabled printer or you purchase a 3rd party app like printopia.
