IPS-K9-min-5.1-1a.pkg install loop???
I have updated our various IPS sensors to this latest version. Many [or all] of them seem to be caught in a loop where they are reinstalling IPS-K9-min-5.1-1a.pkg. Anybody else having this problem? Is this a known issue?
I have verified that any attempts to put the IPS-K9-min-5.1-1a.pkg file into the autoupdate directory will result in the sensors repeatedly applying the package.
so, you can't use autoupdate to install this package....at least not without renaming the package once all the sensors are upgraded. May I suggest:
IPS-K9-min-5.1-1a.pkg_CISCO_HAS_NO_QA
sigh...another work day wasted.

i have idsm with IPS-K9-7.0-2-E3.pkg installed,
i use inline mode for this idsm, and idsm place is front on server farm
but i have some problem that one segment in my network cant access the server
but another segment can access that server,
that server is oracle database aplication (real time)
in this is happend only for that server.
when i filter the traffic with idsm, the result that transaction match with
signature number 7000, evenly that signature dont have action to deny the traffic,
the traffic still cannot bypass, then ill try to disable but nothing impact to that segment
evenly other segment can access that server normally.
anyone can explain to me why this happen??

First off, you cannot downgrade the version without a re-image. You can only downgrade signatures. Second, you mention 7.0(2)E3 as the version you are on and the version you want to downgrade to. Can you verify what version you are running?

On the traffic not passing issue, if you put the sensor in bypass does that resolve the issue. That will eliminate any signature related actions from impacting the traffic. If you are still unable to access the servers then you should look for a routing or network layer issue
What you mean about bypass? Is it to released the idsm from network? If that so, I had do that and the server can access from segment that before cant access it. I had done to check the network layer problem but everything is ok,
And I want to clarify the other segment that cant access the server only for some application (real time application) in that server but the server can ping and telnet from that segment ( I think this is to clarify the network issue problem)
If that clears things up, the next step would be to create an Event Action Override to produce alert for all signatures. Then you can review IME for any signatures firing related to these servers. Please remove the Override once you are done testing as this can have a performance impact on the sensor over time and should only be used temporarily to troubleshoot a specific issue.

I am in receipt of 5 new shiney T4-1 Servers, pre-loaded with Solaris 11 which I am trying to configure up.
Hitting an apparent snag when I look to do anything with IPS.
Followed a series of instructions, which are in essence:
1) Download the 2 part ISO files from Oracle.
2) Cat the .iso files together to make a full repository iso.
3) Mount the ISO as hsfs (/mnt)
4) RSync the contents of the mounted ISO to a zfs location (/rpool/repository)
5) Rebuild the repository location with 'pkgrepo rebuild'
6) Check the repository contents with 'pkgrepo info'

I did actually wonder whether (being pre-installed) it might have been a different version, but apparently not.
The repository files I have downloaded were from edelivery.oracle.com, under Solaris SPARC, and had part tags of V35100-01 and V35101-01.
I re-downloaded again today, went through all the same process. This time however, I have enabled a host service to serve the repository over http:

What "app cleaner software" ? I ask because installing Photoshop over a previous version has never been a problem. Perhaps your difficulty stems from another source, eg. "cleaner software" ?
If you look in your hard drive, at the root level there is a Library. In there is a folder called Application Support, and in that you will find a folder called Adobe. Files from your previous version are there.
However, I urge you to call Adobe support to make sure you are not doing anything that would mess up other Adobe applications.

i'm having trouble with installing a 8g kit in my late 2009 mac mini. when the parts are installed all i get is a beeping sound, is there any way to get around this?

Can you count the beeps or flashes?
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.
Note: In this case, a flash is considered to be 1/4 second or 250 ms or greater in length.

Mac Mini won't start after installing OS X 10.6.3
My Mac Mini won't start after installing Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.3. When I turn it on, the Apple logo appears and the initialization line starts to fill, but it suddenly stops. It does that again and stops at the same point, but this time it shuts down. What should I do?
If you are coming from 10.5.8, hopefully you backed up your important data first. Your mini will need at minimum, 1 GB of RAM to install Snow Leopard and at least 5 GB of storage remaining on your boot drive.
I treat 10.6.3 as a fresh, full install over a 10.5.8 system. That means I choose Disk Utility from the Installer's menu and repartition the boot drive as a single partition, Mac OS X Extended (Journaled) format, and use the GUID partition scheme from the options button. At this point, while still in Disk Utility, I would verify the drive under First Aid.
Then I turn the installer loose, and reboot into a working 10.6.3 system, ready for the software updates that take the machine to 10.6.8.
So, following the above guidelines, reinstall 10.6.3. -
I recently purchased an intel mac mini with 10.7.1 installed and have no disc.
I was interested in installing windows using bootcamp since none of my mac programs work with the mini. Could someone tell me exactly what discs i would need and which version of windows is compatable?
If your Mac Mini had Snow Leopard originally installed, you could have installed Windows Vista into BootCamp and it would still have worked upon your upgrade to Lion. If it is worth the effort (and your Mac Mini originally worked with Snow Leopard), you could backup, downgrade, install Windows Vista and then upgrade to Lion and restore your backups.
As to BootCamp 4.0.3:
"3. Which versions of Windows work with Boot Camp 4.0?
You can use Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium, Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, or Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate with Boot Camp 4.0. Windows XP and Windows Vista are not supported with Boot Camp 4.0. "

Otherwise, you will need a program such as Parallels 7 to run Microsoft Windows Vista. I have the mid-2011 Mac Mini, which came with Lion pre-installed, but I was able to create a Windows XP environment inside of Parallels 7:

Since upgrading from Crystal Reports XI to release 2 (Windows XP pro), I have been stuck in an install loop. Each time I launch Crystal Reports XI Release 2 from the start menu is says "installing Crystal Reports XI Release 2". How can I prevent this from occurring?

I erased all of the loops on my logic pro 9. Do i need to reinstall all discs, or are there specific discs to install "loops?"
There's a new menu entry in the latest version, allowing you to download all the extra content directly onto your hard drive, without having to keep inserting new DVDs etc. It's 19gb (compressed). If you have a normal/decent internet connection, you could reinstall your loops while you're busy doing something else. Or busy doing nothing.

The indexes have been cleared and newly built too.
Now, when I start a new project via the welcome screen, choosing "Loops", then I see all loops in the loops browser and I can use them all.
When I start another kind of project or just tweak any old saved project, then only a few loops are to be seen.

Stuck in a perpetual install loop...
Ok, now I am in a perpetual install loop...
Maverick fails to install - error msg that HD is damaged and can't be repaired. Reboot in recovery mode and run verify disk-all ok. Run repair disk anyway-all ok. Run verify permissions for sh!ts and giggles-all ok. Run repair permissions too-all ok. Reboot....maverick automatically starts to install. And we start all over again.
Can't force quit the installer.
Question: can I reboot my mac book as an external drive and manually delete maverick from the HD?When you start up the Mac hold the shift key as soon as you hear the Mac "chime" (boot sound).
Release the shift key when you can see a spinning wheel on your display.
When the login window appears select "restart", don't hold any keys now.
