IPS password reset via ASDM
The username/password has been lost to our IPS module.
I used the ASDM menu option to reset the IPS password but nothing happened other than the IPS module resetting.
Is there something more I need to do to reset the password on the IPS module other than selecting "reset IPS" in ASDM?

Only issue is now the username is the default --- Cisco
Must manaually change the username.

I need to know if Exchange 2013 SP1 (15.0.847.32) supports password resets via the users UPN when a user's password has expired when they log in to OWA. This was a feature that was added to Exchange 2010 SP1 in rollup 3 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2464564).
I'm able to login to OWA with their UPN but upon being presented with the password reset screen the user has to use DOMAIN\Username rather than their UPN (email address).
Without this feature I can't see how hosting providers can simplify the users experience when they are resetting their passwords. I would prefer not for the user to have to remember their AD logon name, I just want my users to have to remember their

Based on my knowledge, Exchange 2013 doesn't support using a UPN in the change password dialog so far. I recommend you use the format domain\username after allowing users to change their expired passwords. Thanks for your understanding.

I am following the password reset procedure for the AIM-IPS module in a 2811 Router.
I enter the commnd "service-module ids-sensor 0/1 reset" after I suspended a session, then i return to the session, but the only think there is the username prompt. It never changes to show the bootloader information and the "When prompted for boot options enter *** quickly" sentence.
Doesn anyone have any idea what I could be doing wrong? I've tried it from a shutdown state and from a steady state. I get prompts that the state is changing such as

I am having the same issue as mike miller.
Let me explain my problem. I set the passwords some time ago and they were working, but then we rolled back the ios to another version, because some eigrp failures has occured. So the IPS was not detectable on that router. Few days ago I have upload another ios, with ips module support (C2800NM-ADVIPSERVICEK9-M, 12.4.(22)T5, also 12.4.15XY3), but I cant login to ips anymore. IP adress stayed the same, passwords as well, but they're not working. So I tried to do a password recovery, but has the same result as mike.

Automate oracle password reset via procedure
I want to create a web application that I can call a stored procedure, pass in the username, and application that the user is trying to have their password reset on. Reset their password to a temporary password, and email the temp password to their email account. Once they get the temp password, they can login into the system, and change their password.
The java part probably not a problem. Does anyone know how to create a procedure to act as sysadmin, and reset passwords temporarily?
I know it can be done. The only problem is that I am on 8i, and 9 for the databases. I have about 5 - 6 different applications that they can change their password on.

I am able to reset my Apple Id via the email link. The prolem is I cannot sign on using the new password. I cannot reset the password by answering security questions becuase we never answered the questions asked! I tried calling support and they told me my Apple Id does not exist. How can I reset a password on an account that does not exist

The password data is stored under obj_m_actor in the repository!

My phone was stolen and I'm wanting to use BBM on an old handset. I cannot remember the password AND the answer to the security question.
There must be a way for Blackberry to send me a password reset via E-Mail - I DO remember confirming my email upon the initial registration.

User created apple id account, verified but know she is unable to log on, it says incorrect password, she tried to reset via forgot password option but it does not send reset password page to here e- mail address, how can i get this sorted? or how can i get her whole apple account deleted and created new one using same e - mail address?
The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

and the asa is running 8.0.3 but the SSM is only running 5.1
so the command hw-module module x password-reset dosn't work

You can perform the re-image via tftp using the commands
'hardware-module module 1 recover configure' and then 'hardware-module
module 1 recover boot'

ASA5505 SSC-5 Password Reset Failing
I have tried to reset the password on the SSC-5 module using the command below,but I always fails.
hw-module module 1 password-reset noconfirm
When the SSC-5 comes back online and I try to login using the default username and password of cisco, it fails with Login incorrect.
ASA5505 running version 8.4(4)1 asdm 6.4(9)
IPS version 6.2(4)E4Well, that should have worked. Is is possible that password recovery has been disabled?
If so, then it would look as though the command would work but it will not.
You may have no other choice but to reimage the sensor module. -
How can i change email address for security questions and password resets
I've noticed that my password reset requests are going to an old email acount. In fact, i am not sure where they are going.
the real issue is that i don't see a way to change it when i am logged in (it took me many tries to actually log back in) to my apple id account.
I've changed alternate email accounts, but again i don't see a way to change my destination email account for security section of the account.
Also i would rather reset these via text (ATT has this option for my cell phone account reset and i love it). I don't see an option like that from Apple at all.
Any suggestions and help will be much appreciated. Don't want to struggle with password resets every time i need to get in.If you're able to supply two of your security answers, click here and follow the instructions to change your rescue email address.

Can't login to Mac OS X server website after password reset
Hi,
I set up Mac OS X server for our small company and tried resetting the password of my network account that is managed via profile manager.
So, under Accounts->User->MYUSERNAME->reset Password, I typed in a new one and hit ok.
Now I can't login to the server website anymore (for editing our wiki or using profile manager etc.), neither with the new one nor with the old one.
I already tried different passwords (resetting it again and again), I looked at the password directive, I checked my user name, tried to login from different computers and tried logging in with another account (which worked quite fine, so it's just my account). Finally I searched the internet for a solution for quite some time but didn't find anything similar.
It would be great, if somebody could offer some advice.

LasseSolved it by deleting the user and creating a new one with the same userID.
Maybe it occured because I marked the "user has to change password after first login" box when resetting the password but didn't yet allow him to do so in the webpages menu?!? -

Password reset in idm 6.0
Hi all,
Here's what I understand. Please correct me if I am wrong..
idm 6.0 segregates the concept of locking the account and disabling it. So, if the AccountId policy is set, the user account is locked, not disabled. if he/she has "n" failed login attempts. In previous versions, the account was getting disabled in such a case, which is why locking and disabling were synonymous to me. Anyone can throw a light on this please?
Also, the question is: How can the self-service password reset be implemented if the user account is locked? Basically, the OOTB functionality shows the questionLogin.jsp but will not proceed even on correct answers, just because the account is locked. Only the admin can unlock the account. Has anyone come across this situation?
Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!

The only way to unlock an IDM user whom is locked is via:
- an admin with unlock capabilities unlocking the user
- when the lock expires as defined in the policy
A locked user is not allowed to log in not even via the correct answers and is thus never able to change its password. That is how it is supposed to work.

ASA5505 Loading a template config doesn't allow me to connect via ASDM & SSH
Hi All,
I have built a base template for the ASA5505, i login via the ASDM and backup the configuration. Once i have backed it up and got the next customer i configure the ASA so i can gain ASDM access then reload the config using "Merge".
I then have sent this out with the engineer we have plugged it all in and i'm unable to login to the device via ASDM or SSH i get to login but its as if it doesn't accept the username and password.
Does anybody have any idea's?

NathanJust to add more detail, DNS settings are fine for both PTR (numeric / reverse) or A/CNAME (address) record lookups. All resolve perfectly fine and confirmed against another system which is working fine (sadly not running Snow Leopard).
On my MBP running Snow Leopard with the 'Network Diagnostics' application running, the "Internet" connection shows "up" (green) for 2 seconds, then "down" (red) for 4 seconds and cycling continuously between these two states. The application itself fails to complete the test, constantly alerting of "Network Change Detected" suggesting the network configuration has changed.
Being a UNIX systems engineer, I thought running a dtrace on both the 'Network Diagnostic' app and Safari would show up something but sadly highlighted nothing (I'm assuming Apple have disabled dtrace's ability to snoop system calls from these apps and others for whatever reason). I also wondered if the network interface (en0) was changing whilst the state is toggling between failed and passed in the 'Network Diagnostic' app but ifconfig constantly shows the interface in an "UP" state... I just did an unscientific "while true; do ifconfig en0 | grep mtu ; sleep 1 ; done" to display the interface state in a Terminal window on a regular basis.
I think the biggest irony is, it all works fine when browsing to the www.apple.com website - it's never "Safari can't find the server" on me yet! Ah well, I'll have another look at this tomorrow if I get time
