Ipt 1g home button acting weird (1 presss equals 2)
ok i have the ancient ipod touch 1g, and the home button has seemed to die on it, when you half press it in it works, and the button is really weak, so half way is easy pressed in by mistake, and when you press it with normal strength and push in all the way like normal, it comes up with the music menu, i know it isnt software b'cos the ipod casnt detect half presses and i have already just restored. i am willing to do anything to it now, i will probably open it up, but am not sure if there is some other easy fix, has anyone else had this problem? so again its when you press it, it regesters it as twice, sometimes 3 as the menu comes up then dissapears half a second later

OS 4.0: HOME button acting weird and inconsistently since updating
The new double click for multitasking is not working properly for me - sometimes I get the new multitasking bar; but most of the time I don't. Sometimes I'll get it with just one click, other times after clicking THREE times?!! Its so annoying. I'm on a 3G 32gb Touch and I updated with no problems at all; but everytime I double click the Home button I just get the search feature coming up instead - prior to updating I had the Home button set to get me there via a double click, but I've attempted to change that setting and I've noticed that the option to customise the Home button click function has been removed?!! Basically, multitasking is a lottery as far as my Home button is concerned, I have to keep trying different Home click combos to get it to appear and I'm regretting updating at all.

Lumia 720: Power and camera button act weird
Hi,
My Nokia Lumia 720 is acting weird.
The camera button doesn't work and so does the power button.
However if I press the volume down and the power button simultaneously the button does work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've already brought the phone back to the default settings.
I'm running the latest developer preview if that matters.

Hold & Home Button Acting Up Seriously...
Morning,
As of late, my hold button has been seriously acting up.
When i click it, it doesnt respond, then i try clicking the home button afterwards & it just takes a screensave. (White flash).
Then yesterday it became worse; it locks itself at will & brings up the "slide to turn off" option whenever it pleases. Even when i'm using apps or connecting it to a laptop.
Now its stuck on an app & wont stop taking screensaves.
Whats WRONG!!?
Do i have to reset, etc? Or do i have to take it back to apple?.

Home Button Acts up Need some help please

My iPhone 3GS keeps hitting the home button by itslef and wont let me do anything and I have tried resetting my phone and everything but doesnt work what do I do. My iPhone is currently at iOS 5.1.1.If you've taken all the recommended troubleshooting steps including restoring your phone as NEW and you still have problems, then it's likely a hardware issue.
Bring your phone and $149 (if you're outside the warranty period) to Apple for exchange. -
Why does my home button act without clicking?
My home button seems to have a mind of its own. My apps shut down, voice control popps up..etc all without touching the home button.
It will even happen when the phone is on my desk.Try resetting it: hold on/off and home buttons 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple logo (ignoring the off slider that appears first), release and wait for it to restart.

Applet Button acting weirdly...

I'm quite new at Java, and new to this forum, so don't be too hard;)
I've got a problem with a awt.button in an Applet. When i click on the button it seems to send two events, and thus executing twice the code. I would like it to execute only once the code.
I've tried changing the MouseListener from MouseClicked to MouseReleased, but doesn't seem to change anything. I've also tried to put a button.setEnabled(false) in the code executed, but still doesn't change anything.
This is weird to me, because i've also got an application version of the program and it doesn't have that problem.
Could you please help me...

For reference, it's a problem of Jbuilder, it changed the constructor of the Applet like this:

It seems sometime when I turn my phone on and insert my apple headphones, it wont pause or change songs using the mic button. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it starts working again. Im pretty sure this only happens when I first turn on the phone, but I could be mistaken. I think it happened a few times already. Anyone have this problem?
My friend and I are having the exact same problem. We took both of our phones to the store and was told to restore it, reboot it, try different headphones and all those things still did not resolve the problem. I helped the "mac genius" discover that it may be a glitch in the software because he tried it on his iPhone and his co-worker's phone and the same thing happened. Sometimes you plug it in and the mic clicker works and sometimes it doesn't. I would challenge others to try this out and see if the same occurs on their phone. The mic may work initially when you plug in the headphones, but if you take them out and plug them back in, they may not work. Let me know..

So, I don't know if its just me but in the past week or so (don't recall if this was happening before most recent updates), I've noticed that my power button doesn't do ANYthing while the computer's up and running. Didnt it used to prompt up for if I want to shut it down, sleep, etc? It still works to boot up the computer and to wake it from sleep and such, but when the compy's up, it doesn't work.
Thoughts, anyone?A quick press of the power button on my MBP (on 10.5.6), while it's awake, still gives the Restart/Sleep/Shut Down dialog box.

Nano "Enter" button acting weird and restarting
Hey -
So I've had my nano (4GB) for about 7 months now and its been great, but recently it's been restarting a lot randomly, that is, the screen goes black and the apple logo is shown before bringing me back to the main menu.
Yesterday after it restarted once, the enter button appeared to stop working, but I realized that it works on every function BUT entering the music menu. So for instance when it starts up I can go to Shuffle Songs, or play a game of solitaire, but if I go to click on the MUSIC menu, which would bring up the Artists, Songs, Albums, then the whole nano just restarts. It keeps doing it over and over and over. I have no idea what's wrong with it.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks.Sounds to me like you are having the same problem I had. I trouble shooted (trouble shot?) it and figured out that installing podcasts from the iTMS was causing the problem. This took me several instals, updates, etc. When I finally figured it out, I restored my nano with the latest update (at the time), kept the "drive" free of iTMS podcasts, and it has worked like a charm ever since.

What's the deal with the home button?
What is with the home button acting all janky all the time. Sometimes it acts as tho it was never pushed and then sometimes it acts at tho it was pushed twice.
i found this on another question and it works perfectly now...........
open a stock iOS app (Weather, Stocks, Clock, etc.). Once the app is open, press your iPhone’s power button until the ‘slide to power off’ screen appears. From that screen, press and hold your Home button until iOS force quits the stock app you have open.
This will recalibrate your home button. -
i bought an ipad mini, but the home button feels weird.... I actually can feel it when I slide my finger at the bottom. it is sticking up. is this a problem, flaw, issue?
anyone else?Sounds like you either damaged the Home button in the repair of the screen or you missed plugging something in...it could be any number of things.
If you want, you can try and enable AssistiveTouch which floats a virtual button on-screen which can mimic all hardware buttons on the device, including the Home Button. It may be able to return the Home Button's *function* to the device via AssistiveTouch's on-screen virtual button, but it won't *fix* the hardware Home Button.
Settings>General>Accessibility>AssistiveTouch: turn ON
*Note* If you power off the device using the AssistiveTouch panel (tap the on-screen AssistiveTouch button, Device>Lock Screen (tap and hold to power off)), you will NOT be able to power on the device if your Sleep/Wake (power) button is not functioning. You will need to connect the powered off device either to a PC's USB port or an external charger to power the device back on. -
I have a 3Gs iPhone, which I've had for 1 year 83 days and the home button si faulty. I have checked on the internet and this seems to be a common issue.
I have a contract with O2 for 24 mouths due to run out March 2012 but the phone was bought from Carphone Warehouse.
I have been to O2 and they say it's out of the Apple warranty and therefore I will have to pay for a repair. They also have now said because it came from CPW they will do nothing for me.
I have been to Apple and they say the same thing that I have to pay for the repair as it's out of warranty
My query is surely I can expect a phone that has been looked after should last longer than 83 days? Therefore under the sale of good act I should get a repair or replacement for free???
I am now paying for a contract where the phone doesn't work!Good luck with that. Most of the world does not have anything like what you believe your "sale of goods act" is supposed to do. It sounds like you expect it to extend the warranty on a Product from Apple until your contract with an entirely different company is complete. I think you'll find that you are misinterpreting that law. The exception may be if you purchased the phone from the carrier and the law is written in such a way as to require them to replace the device if it fails during the term of the contract, though I doubt that will be the case either.

Pressing screen acts like home button
Pressing anywhere on my screen acts as if I've pressed my home button. You do have to press down (touching the screen doesn't do it, you need to press harder).
It constantly wakes up in my pocket and I regularly have dozens of screenshots of my lock screen in my photo gallery.
I've done a total restore for both 6.0 and 6.1. Is my 4s dying a horrible death?The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:

Yes, I understand that. But The screen issue is not a result of user damage. The phone was not dropped when the screen got cracked. My daughter was standing in a chair at the table and dropped one of her toys onto the bottom of the phone and cracked it right by the home button. (Nowhere near the LCD/digitizer flex cables, connections, or logic board components) then a few months later my phone had died, I plugged it in, it showed it was charging, then Apple logo disappeared and screen didn't work. AFTER contacting Apple about the issue and them telling me that it "is a result of the very minimal crack to the sheet of glass that has no relation to the LCD or Digitizer and that the warranty does not cover it I had taken it upon myself to change the LCD/digitizer to no avail, as well as backlight ic and backlight coil to no avail. But how do I go about letting Apple know that it is in fact NOT due to the cracked screen nor is it due to the flex cable connections? I can't. So the lady that works the call center phones trying to "convince" me that she knows what she is talking about and "convince" me that it is from the cracked screen I have to take her word because I can't show Apple that its not because of that without paying them $199 to fix the screen in which case they will just send me a new phone rather than fix the faulty hardware under warranty.
