Hi there!
Has Comcast stopped assigning delegated prefixes for users who request them? I had my router setup to request a /60 via IA-PD but just today it appears to have stopped. I'm still getting an ipv6 address on the dhcpv6 solicit, but no more delegated prefixes. Thinking that the problem might be solved with a firewall software update, I upgraded to the latest release version but the same problem persists. Here's my IAID/DUID to aid in tracking down the issue.
IAID: XXXXXXXXX
DUID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
EDIT: Cablemodem HFC MAC: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX (found on surfboard diagnostic page)
Let me know what other info I might provide to aid in diagnostics.
Thanks in advance!

Check my PM, I see PD being assigned to your device.

  • HT5656 This is all great but for me the "IPv6 Delegated Prefix" field never sticks. After the reboot to apply the settings, it is empty again. I have tried the 6.2 Airport Utility on OS X 10.8.2 and the iOS Airport Utility. Any ideas?

    Hi All,
I had a working IPv6 tunnel with my Airport Express to tunnelbroker.net using the 7.6.1 firmware.  After updating to 7.6.3, I have tried many things to get it to work and the only one that works is downgrading from 7.6.3 back to 7.6.1.  After seeing this new technical note, it appears that the root of my issue is that I can not get the "IPv6 Delegated Prefix" field to stick - it is always empty after the reboot to apply the settings.
       Any ideas?
         Thanks,
           CraigN

I'm in the same boat with a 3rd Gen AEBS.  Only thing I haven't tried is a complete reset and reconfiguration from nothing, which I may wind up doing this afternoon just to rule it out.  The best irony of all of this is that tunnelbroker.net is under my responsibility, and I can't validate the new settings paradigm.  At least getting back to 7.6.1 is easy enough and everything works fine there.
IPv6 Delegated prefix doesn't get saved when using the format from their example, then a 6to4 address shows up as the local address on the main Internet page, and no RAs are received once the AEBS comes back from a reload.  Something's a little off on this release.

  • HT5656 IPv6 Delegated Prefix doesn't stay set

Just as others have encountered after the upgrade to 7.6.3, the required field IPV6 Delegated prefix keeps getting unset.  When I click on the error pessage about a broken IPv6 tunnel and click Edit, it highlights the remote IPv4 address, which is set according to the settings specified by tunnelbroker.net.  Changing only the IPv6 delegated prefix field and clicking save then update doesn't prompt a reboot.  I have to change some of the other fields for the reboot to take effect.  My AirPort Extreme is circa 2007 and worked with the 7.6.1 firmware.

I have this problem as well.  I have tried both /48 and /64 prefixes, but nothing will stay set.  I have tried setting it to automatic, reboot, change to manual, enter in all new settings.  Nothing seems to work.
Apple needs to address this issue with a fix.  7.6.3 is either still broken, or the Airport Utility app is broken.  It's one of the two.

  • IPv6 prefix delegation with AVPair ipv6:delegated-prefix

    Dear all
    I have a LNS running c7200-adventerprisek9-mz.124-24.T4.bin.
I am trying to delegate IPv6 prefixes to vpdn users as described in
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/prod/collateral/iosswrel/ps6537/ps6553/whitepaper_c11-602131.html#wp9000270
From this whitepaper: "When the delegating provider edge router supports  RFC 4818, only one user profile is stored for the RADIUS server. In  addition the RADIUS server may be configured with a DNS server per user,  which overwrites the providers edge router's default DNS server address  configured in the DHCP pool"
Our Freeradius has the following user entry according to the mentioned whitepaper:
    user@foobar Auth-Type = Local, Password == "foo"
       Service-Type = Framed-User,
       Framed-Protocol = "PPP",
       Framed-IP-Address = "10.0.0.1",
       Framed-IP-Netmask = "255.255.255.255",
       Framed-MTU = "1492",
       Framed-Compression = "Van-Jacobson-TCP-IP",
       Cisco-AVPair = "ipv6:prefix#1=201:DB8:F1:0::/64",
       Cisco-AVPair += "ipv6:delegated-prefix=201:DB8:AAAA::/48",
       Cisco-AVPair += "lcp:interface-config=mtu 1460"
If I try to connect this user I get the PPP-Link established with prefix 201:DB8:F1:0::/64 as expected. But instead of providing the delegated prefix from the AVPair the router queries the radius server again for the user user@foobar-dhcpv6pd which I have not configured since I assume that this router "supports RFC 4818", right?
So why does it as for user@foobar-dhcpv6pd ?
    Thanks for any hint,
    Grischa

    Hi,
RFC4818 is supported starting with 15.1(1)T or later. 151-2.T2a seems to have an issue though.

  • Airplay no longer working on iTunes 11.1.3 Windows 8.1

I have a PC connected by ethernet cable to a router, which is sending a wireless IPv4 signal to an airport express on my home network, which is in turn connected to some speakers. I also have an Apple TV connected to the same network. Airplay worked fine in the previous version of iTunes, but since 11.1.3 airplay no longer works properly.
On a fresh reboot of the PC & opening iTunes, the airplay icon appears, and airplay works as normal. However, after an arbitrary amount of time (usually between 3-10 minutes) the airplay feature becomes unresponsive, and the only way to remedy it is a fresh reboot of the PC.
However, I can play music from my iPhone through the Airport Express to the speakers, and I can mirror audio from my macbook through the AE to the speakers, but iTunes can't see anything with airplay (no speakers, no Apple TV) and the remote app on my iPhone iOS 7 can find the Apple TV, but can't find my shared library on the PC.  So it's not a proble with the AE, or with the router.
Other PC users with a similar issue who are connecting to their router by WiFi have reported a that turning off IPv6 appears to be a usable workaround, but I can report that it does not work for me when connecting to the router by ethernet cable.
Also, the Airport utility can see the AE after a fresh reboot, but again after a few minutes it can no longer see the AE.

yes this is happening to me....
    Same scenarios..

  • Airplay no longer works with iTunes

Airplay no longer works with iTunes 10.6; try to stream to speakers connected to Airplay device--use to work fine. Now, in iTunes, the icon in the bottom corner actually says 2 speakers, as it should, but when I open it it only shows speakers connected to computer directly. I have tried re-installing the AirPort utility and configuring it in every which way. I have tried turning off IPV6 in the network. Nothing seems to work.

I noticed this too and think it's by design. The new master volume slider in the AirPlay window is set at the highest volume in your list of speakers. Drag either the master volume or your external speaker slider to max, and you should get normal volumes out of your Airport Express speakers.
Unfortunately, the volume slider on the iTunes window seems to be the master volume now, rather than just the volume for the computer. So if you mute the computer using that slider, you mute all speakers. To mute just the computer, you have to do it though the AirPlay speaker list now. Unless I'm missing a preference setting somewhere... thought there used to be something in iTunes or Airport Utility that let you toggle this behavior, but I don't see anything now...

  • PPTP no longer working through Cisco 2901

Up until yesterday, the PPTP VPN to our main office was working as ordered.
Yesterday our ISP statically assigned our IP address to us, and it went from ip address dhcp to ip address x.x.x.x
Everything else works fine, internet and whatnot, but the VPN connection will no longer work.  It just times out.  I'm wondering if it's something in my config that is blocking it.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As you can see, this isn't in anyshape or form an advanced configuration.  So I don't see what the problem could be.

  • Airtunes no longer working

    Hi everyone.
I used Airtunes over Airport Express fine for years, but just updated to iTunes 8 and it no longer works. I get error message -3256 when I try to connect, and it directs me to my firewall settings.
    A few notes:
    - in iTunes preferences, I confirmed that the 'look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes' is checked. It is.
    - in System Preferences, under TCP/IP, IPv6 configuration, I confirmed that IPv6 is set to configure automatically. It is.
    - in System Preferences, under the Firewall tab, iTunes Music Sharing is selected but I can't see anything else likely to affect AirTunes.
So I read this article here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2278
and thought I'd check that the Airport Express firmware is up to date. I downloaded AirPort Utility from here: http://support.apple.com/downloads/AirPortUtility_5_3_2Tiger
and used it to update the firmware to 6.3.
I now find that AirPort Utility can not find my Airport Express ("Airport Utility was unable to find any Apple wireless devices...") which has a green light on it, indicating that it's joined my wireless network.
In addition, iTunes can no longer 'see' my remote speakers.
This is very frustrating. It used to work fine. I've done everything in the Apple support article and the problem seems to have got worse. Can anyone here advise me? Am I missing something painfully obvious?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jason

PS Sorry, I forgot to mention I also confirmed that 'block UDP traffic' is not selected. It is not.

  • Group calendars on 10.6.4 client machines no longer work with iCal Server

After updating 2 client machines to 10.6.4 I realized my group calendars no longer work in iCal.
I get "Server Responded With an Error" on all my group calendars, on both machines.
Preferences>Accounts>Server Path reveles the server path has reverted back to a GUID "/principals/_uids_/GUID string/" .
I change it back to "/principals/_uids_/wiki-GroupName/" and get it working again, but if I quit iCal and restart it again reverts back to the GUID.
I've trashed all calendars in ~/Library/Calendars, and the Prefs. I also tried "/principals/wikis/GroupName/", but again it reverts.
I booted to my 10.6.3 clone and have no problems with the group calendars there.
    (I'm running 10.6.4 Server)
Is anyone else having this issue?
    Any ideas?

Are you asking for an example of how to use calendarservermanageprincipals? While the tool is designed to help you configure privileges on resources and locations, it works fine for users. So I created a new user in Workgroup Manager to represent my Marketing department's calendars. I named this user "sharedmarketing".
Then, I wanted to give staff read-only access to the calendar and give Marketing write access, so I executed these two commands:
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-write-proxy groups:marketing users:sharedmarketing
    sudo calendarservermanageprincipals --add-read-proxy groups:staff users:sharedmarketing
I then imported the content from the Marketing Wiki calendar into this calendar and that was it!
If I logged in directly to the sharedmarketing account (not necessary), and looked how the account was set to be delegated, it properly showed group names:
There is no way to configure it like this using the iCal GUI, and this was I always felt that the management of privileges was the biggest obstacle in setting up iCal Server in this proper, supported fashion.
Then, from the client, I can naturally access those group calendars:
This is SO much easier to setup and maintain as each user only needs to have their ONE iCal account configured and they can just add the necessary groups, which is WAY easier than supplying users with crazy wiki-calendar URLs.

  • Parallax no longer works in Firefox 16+

I created a Parallax ( scrolling interactive images in layers which tells a story) about 10 months ago or so, it works in every browser and at that time it worked in firefox 10-ish. I just saw today that it no longer works in Firefox 17 or 16, it doesn't scroll at all. The Parallax is in an iframe container ( not sure if that matters ) and it looks like the iframe has been squashed in height.
    Thanks,
    Sam

Yes it will break. Don't swap one for the other; use everything for now to cover your bases
    *-moz-transform
    *webkit-transform
    *transform
So older Firefox will see -moz-transform, Chrome and Safari will see webkit-transform and new Firefox will see transform. When webkit changes then Chrome and Safari will see transform instead of webkit-transform. Then one day in the future you'll be able to remove the prefixed versions and just use transform.
    Make sense?

  • X11 session tunnelling via SSH: no longer working!

    Hi!
Graphical access to a Solaris 9 or 10 server via X11 tunneled thru an SSH session used to work fine until recently. In other worlds, you would connect with a
ssh -X [email protected] your workstation running an appropriate X11 server, the remote SSHD would set up the DISPLAY variable pointing back to itself and everything would work as expected. Run a graphical app, and it would happily pop up in your display.
However, recently this has stopped working on two different servers I use, one with Solaris 9 and the other with the latest Solaris 10. The ssh session works normally, but the DISPLAY variable does not get set and the following error pops up in the console:
Aug 26 13:58:46 sunserver sshd[2251]: [ID 800047 auth.error] error: Failed to allocate internet-domain X11 display socket. Both servers were patched with the latest security and recommended patches. Tried by connecting from a MacOS X 10.5 portable (using the included X11 server), a Knoppix 5.3.1 host and an OpenSolaris host, all with the same failed results. However, on an older Solaris 9 server that has not been recently patched, the tunnelling works as usual, so it seems to be a server-side problem. And, like I mentioned, this all used to work on the failing servers, before the patching orgy this summer.
Since the tunnelling no longer works, the only way to run graphical apps is by manually doing the insecure xhost +client / DISPLAY=server:0.0; export DISPLAY routine.
Has anyone run across this problem and know which patch messed things up? Is there a solution or, at least, a workaround?
    TIA for your help.
    J. Courcoul

There was a posted six hour service window for this web site yesterday. Your initial posting should have happened just
before the service windows opened and after the service windows expired half of the world was still asleep and then you
complain the next morning about the dearth of responses. Talk about underwhelming.Guess my anxiety due to user pressure was showing... :D HOWEVER, I did get a perfectly good response on comp.sys.sun.admin about four hours after posting, even though slashdot and others have been crowing about the death of Usenet.
Usually X forwarding breaks when there is nothing to connect back to but your messages seems to suggest that a patch
has caused the problems. For the life of me I can't figure out why adding an IPv6 loopback address would fix this but
an actually Sun employee would know better than I.Precisely why I don't want to mark the question as answered yet. Heck, when I read the trick, it made me think that I had completely misunderstood how the tunnelling mechanism works.
You might try going through the list of patches that were applied and see if any of them contain files related somehow
to SSH and then file a bug report against that patch to Sun so it can be fixed, again.Yes, cause there was an ssh/sshd patch that came out in the June/July timeframe which may have a bearing. However, I recall there was at least one or maybe two patches for tcp that may also have been a cause. Time to put on the Sherlock Holmes cap...

  • IOS 12.2(33)SXI2a ipv6 nd prefix command

    Hi!
I've encountered a problem trying to configure something like this in a Sup720 with IOS 12.2(33)SXI2a:
    router(config-if)#ipv6 address 2001:DB8:CAFE:CAFE::1/56
    router(config-if)#ipv6 nd prefix 2001:DB8:CAFE:CAFE::/64
so the idea is to have a routed /56 for an interface, but a /64 for autoconfiguration of host interfaces. I've tried this first in a 12.2(31)SGA1, and it worked, but int the sup720 it renders an error:
%VlanXX: Error: 2001:DB8:CAFE:CAFE::/64 is overlapping with 2001:DB8:CAFE:CAFE::1/56. This error didn't appear in the 12.2(31)SGA1, and, in fact, we could route with any of the addresses in the range /56 configured in a server's interface, but at the same time, get one from autoconfig with a /64.
So, am I doing anything wrong, or is this the normal behaviour of the nd prefix command? If so, what's then its purpouse?
    Thanks in advance,

Well, maybe I didn't explain it very well. In fact, it's the opposite that you comment: what we want is the servers to get an auto /64 address from the same /64. Then each customer can assign statically any address they want to their server from a different /64 for each customer. All these /64 belonging to the same /56 that we configure in the vlan interface, dynamically routed through OSPF. This way, we have not to configure any static address.
I admit that for this to be secured we need something like RA Guard and IPv6 PACL in the access switches, which the Cat2960 we use for the servers doesn't have available yet. We trust someday they will get the funtionality.
This is an example of the configs:
    interface Vlan59
    ipv6 address 2A02:BE8:2:1000::2/56
    ipv6 enable
    ipv6 traffic-filter PRUEBAS-IPV6 out
    ipv6 nd prefix 2A02:BE8:2:1000::/64
    ipv6 ospf 1 area 0
    In the server:
    eth0      Link encap:Ethernet  HWaddr 00:1e:c9:bb:ca:36
              inet6 addr: 2a02:be8:2:1001::65/64 Scope:Global ----> manual

  • PCS no longer working with contacts and 6086

I have applied the latest release of PC Suite 6.84.10.3.
Previously the installed level was 6.83.14.1
The send/read/write message still doesn't work but hangs the Windows Explorer for a while (this hang didn't occur previously)
But now, the contact facility no longer works. It is no longer possible to edit a contact, to store it locally or to send it to the phone even a message says everything is OK
(translate it from french: The contact has been well recorded into the phone)
Folder browsing still works correctly, either the phone folder or the memory card folder
Need a fix or a way to install the previous version, at least for the contacts...
This is a really negative feedback!
    Phil

I guess what I learned is that sometimes the best solution is to do nothing and wait for the problem to solve itself! Funny, this has never worked for me before.
WOT is now working for me but often for only the first few rows of images. That's cool that it is also working with bing images.
Boudica, thanks for understanding. I am new contributor/ question-asker here on mozilla and may not understand how things are done. I was just frustrated, getting an email saying that my question was answered, logging in to find that it wasn't.
Now we have the functionality that we wanted, right?

  • Brand new IPOD Touch Apps no longer work after upgrading software

I got a Ipod touch for my wife Today at Wal-Mart. I brought it home, connected to wifi and downloaded some apps and also payed for some. They all worked fine. Then I connected to computer to transfer songs. It told me to upgrade the Ipod software so i Did. After it restarted none of the downloaded apps work anymore. I have read MANY MANY MANY discussions on this and there is no fix. I am not wiping out all the songs and reload everything all over again. It will take forever. My wifes BD is Friday and this is making me so mad after I just dropped $300 on this thing. APPLE!!! Where is the fix? I deleted the apps and reinstalled they still don't work. Anybody got this figured out? I am getting ready to get my money back and tell everyone to avoid buying ipod until they get this upgrade bug fixed.
Message was edited by: 2009 IPOD TOUCH

I have the same problem. Brand new two days ago. I synched the touch with Itunes but wasn't hooked up to the internet at the time so didn't do the software upgrade right away. Then I downloaded about a dozen apps (free and paid) with wifi directly to the touch. They all worked fine. Then I plugged it back in to Itunes and had it upgrade it to 3.1.2. It locked up Itunes several times since then and the downloaded apps no longer work (they start to open then disappear).
The problem is, no one is listening to this problem (including Anna above)! Everyone says "just do a hard reboot, or restore to factory settings, reload the apps, etc." I've tried all the standard troubleshooting but none of it fixes this. It sure seems to me this is a problem with 3.1.2 but Apple isn't helping out here. Where are you APPLE? Use some of those outrageous profits you're making to fix the problem you have created. Here's $300 of my hard earned dollars pretty much down the drain.

  • Link to A folder View in a PDF Portfolio - feature no longer working - please advise

Hi, I am no longer able to link to a Folder View of a PDF Portfolio:
Within a PDF portfolio i need to link from a PDF to a folder view in the Portfolio. I am using Link Action - Go to Page View.
This used to work for me - very important feature that no longer works. Please advise a workaround.
    Steps:
    1. Start a PDF Portfolio that contains files and folders
    2. Open a PDF in the Portfolio
    3. in the opened PDF click Add or Edit Link
    4. Define a link area and set it to Go To A Page Vies
    5. In the past i have been able to target a Folder View in the Portfolio - ie. direct a user not to a file, but instead to a folder view that contains relevant files. I would do this by setting the Target Page View to my desired folder view
    6. This used to work in bringing a user to the folder view i specify. Now it does nothing. If i go back to the PDF and EDIT the Link i see this. File: Parent Document Page 1. This in fact does nothing.
Please advise, am i doing this wrong, it used to work. I have tried several workarounds, with no luck.

There's an extension or two, or a combination of extensions which seem to be causing that in Firefox 6.0.2. One that has been mentioned is TabMix Plus.
    http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
You need to figure out what is causing it, and disable that extension/s until they are fixed by their developer.
