Jetpack 5510L needed for Polycom video conference - is this possible - has progress been made?
We've has a successful connection when a static IP was available and we can at least connect to a bridge and see the template and the image of our own classroom in the top right corner, but we can not see or hear the far end and the far end cannot see or hear us.
How should we approach this when the bridge is our only IP option to connect to? What is required to make this connection complete on both ends?I would actually contact PolyCom since they are the video conference vendor that own the software you are attempting to use. PolyCom most likely has experience dealing with VZW network connections and should be able to help you identify why their application is not working.
If you truly have a static and public IP address assigned to your Jetpack then the port forwarding options will be available to you. You may have to customize the ports to get all of the video conferencing communication lines opened.
If you can find a specific limitation from PolyCom then come back to us and let us know what it is. We may be able to provide you with steps or suggestions on how to customize your Jetpack to work around them. For now, the problem could be anything so VZW and the community really cant help you. -
MXE 3500 Integration with DMS VMware
Can MXE 3500 integrates with Show and Share 5.3.0 Vmware setup?
Is there any chalanges for integration?Hi Nicolas,
Thanks for the update..
We are trying to integrate TCS and SNS with MXE.
We are refering the below document from SNS with MXE..
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/mxe/3500/sw/3_x/3_3/integration/note/integ_mxe33_sns.html
and the below document for TCS with MXE.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/video/mxe/3500/sw/3_x/3_4/cxs_solution/configuration/guide/cxs_config_guide.html
We have tried to upload one video in SNS and its went to MXE for convertion, MXE has converted this video successfully and sent this video to SNS. This is working without any issues.
But we are trying with TCS, there we are facing one issue.
TCS is recording video and sending it to MXE, we can see this particular video in Job status monitor in MXE but its not converting succesfully, the job status is showing "fail" as a status.
What will be the issue and how we should troubleshoot?

Video Conference Solution Needed
I'm trying to set up 3 way video conferencing between:
1) G4/1.67 Powerbook
2) G4/800 PB
3) PC running Windows XP
Disappointed to learn that not only can the 1.67 PB not host, but even with ecamm's Powerboost it won't work with the PC since it's not running iChat.
If anyone has any suggestions on how to get this working, even with alternate software or service, it would be very much appreciated.Hi Glenn,

Configuring QoS on Cisco 3845 router for Polycom Video Conferecing
Dear All,
We have implemented a Polycom Video Conferecing solution at our Head Office. Using this we communicate with other branch offices through WAN (2mbps, MPLS).
The problem is that this WAN link is also used for data. When the traffic is high on the link, the voice and the video quality goes down drastically and we experience connection drops.
At the moment we have configured our Polycom box to communicate at 512kbps speed and we would like to reserve it in our WAN link. In case, video conferencing is not happening we would like it to be utilised by other traffic.
Can we configure QoS on our Cisco 3845 router to do this? I'm not a Cisco expert and have pressures from Management to correct this before the next conference.
I have already googled a fair bit but couldn't find something for me.
Could someone please tell me the exact commands that need to be given on our router to achieve this.
I'll be very thankful for this help.
Best Regards.Hi,
You can use something like the following to guarantee 5122k of bandwidth to your video-conferencing bandwidth but to allow that bandwidth to be used by other traffic when it is not being used for video-conferencing:
class-map VDOConf
match ip dscp af41
policy-map WANPolicy
class VDOConf
bandwidth 512
interface
service-policy output WANPolicy
Note that the above assumes that your video conferencing traffic is being marked to AF41. If that is not the case, you can always match on the IP address of your polycom device using an ACL:
class-map VDOConf
match access-group 101
access-list 101 permit ip .....
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.

Can't initiate video conference in iChatAV (using airport express)
I have a variation of a problem with starting video conference in iChat via airport express - did read previous posts to the subject but did not find a solution yet.
The problem is: I can't initiate the video conference with my new intel core duo iMac - but I can have one, when the user on the other side initiates it.
I assume this has to do with port forwarding on airport express, since I also have an older iMac G4 which until now was connected to the internet via Siemens ADSL modem C010-I(ethernet) and it worked just fine.
My firewall is off.
I tried to forward ports 4099, 5190 and 5193 (as suggested by www.portforward.com) but that didn't seem to solve the issue. Any other ideas, please?Hi Reed,
If the modem routes then there is a chance it is doing DHCP as default if you have not changed it.
You can check by connection direct to the modem with your computer and then doing this:
Go to System Preferences > Network.
Select Built in Ethernet in the second drop down.
Select the TCP/IP tab
If the IP listed below the Using DHCP drop down appears the same as when you go here then the modem is in Bridge mode. If it appears to be in one of these groups:
192.168.xxx.xxx
10.xxx.xxx.xxx
or 172.16.xxx.xxx through 172.32.xxx.xxx then the modem is routing.
The Airport does DHCP by default as well.
You do not want two DHCP servers.
This can be turned off in Airport Admin Utility found in Applications/Utilities
Log in to the Airport in the samll window and then go to the Network tab
Deselect Distributing Addresses if the modem is routing.

Skypes suitability for video conference meetings
Hi
I would like to know if skype is suitable for a video conference meeting - my impression of skype is that is designed more for 1 to 1 video calls? I've read about the multi call feature and while this is a nice feature each person needs to join seperately with their own computer which is not what I need. What about the situation where we have 10 people in a meeting room and 10 people in another meeting room who would like to have a video conference between the two? My understanding is that skype is not really suitable for this? Can anyone advise differently?
Thank you
DanHello!
I have to set up a conference room with some sort of video conference solution. I really like google hangouts since our users are now migrating over to gmail with a personal domain but i'm also open to Skype.
I need ideas as far as equiment for this. I'd like to leave something set up so that we dont have to depend on someones computer to make the video call.
any recomendations of any equipment I could use? something small maybe like an android PC thats what ive heard. I'd like to use a camara and a microphone for better picture and audio quality on the side but again i'd like to have something small and not clutter.

IPM 11g integration with oracle applications R12
Hi,
We are in process of setting up first IPM instance for AP invoice processing. I installed all required software and got IPM server up and running. I was following installation guide for integration with applications R12 but it is not detailed enough so opened oracle SR and now analyst himself is saying documentation is not enough and you need to use solution accelarator kit. Oracle's product manger is not giving kit before giving training and there is no training in near future so we are just at full stop at this time. Has anybody done successful install and end to end integration with 11g version without solution kit? Can anybody point me to good detailed documentation?
I would appreciate any help I can get on this.
Thanks,
JigishaHi
AP Invoice end to end processing would need to have IPM , EBS , ODC , OFR (if needing to include forms recoginition functionality as well ) .
This is the outline of the architecture that need to be set up for end to end AP processing .
Let me look around if there is any documentation which gives further details on this topic .
Thanks

SPA 122 with Polycom Equipment
I have a number of these devices, SPA 122's, set up at various customer sites with Polycom analog conference units running on a hosted telephony platform. They are all running the latest firmware. They all work great except for one problem.
A standard functionality of Polycom equipment is the ability to intercom other phones on the PBX using (* + 1 + Extension #). However, the problem that I am running into is that the IRV default access is also done by selecting (*) from the analog device. Is there a setting that I can change that would allow me to avoid this conflict? I understand I may loose the ability to configure the ATA using the IVR and will neeed to use the web management. This is fine.
Can anyone provide assistance with this?Try the following.
Update the 'dial plan' (line tab) and the 'feature dial services codes' (regional tab).
In the dial plan, remove the *xx and put in *1xx. if you plan to dial *1 and 2 or more digits afterward.
In the feature dial services codes, put in the same *1xx.
Remove the default settings for Secure call in the Vertical Service Activation Codes, since those * codes start with *1. -
Hi,
Can somebody help me design the best way to configure qos in the following scenario? and where to apply the qos policy?
Central office:
2600xm router and Polycom video conference device
Remotes:
2600xm router and Polycom
Note: The remotes are connected using a ipsec tunnel from pix to pix and the 2600xm is in the inside doing GRE to the main router which is a 3660 which is connected via a ptop t1 to the location where the other 2600xm is.(2600>pix>pix>3660>2600).
Thanks very much,
Uriel.I think this documents give a good idea about the QoS requirement in a video deployment .

Integration of Video Conference with calendar
hello,
Do we have facility of dialing the video conference from the calendar component?
Thanks
SharmilaYou would need a video-capable adhoc conference resource. Examples include the TelePresence Server (recommended), which can now be virtualized, or PVDM3s configured to support video. Either way you it gets added as a Conference Bridge in CUCM and included in your MRG/MRGL. CUCM will invoke a video-capable bridge whenever there are two or more conference participants that have video in their SDP.

Third party Video conference device conferencing with Cisco SX80
Hi ALL,
We have Cisco BE6K (Call Manager 10.5), CTS-SX80-IPST60-K9, DX650, 7861, 8861 IP phone, Cisco 2901 Voice Getaway, 3750 Switch and ASA. internet was connected on ASA. SIP connectivity (For DID) connected to Cisco 2901 Voice Getaway.
I need to know cisco best practice and implementation guide on below question:-
1. How Third party Video conferencing units (LIFESIZE and Polycom) can conference and call with Call Manager IP Phones and SX80. Third party device will not register on MY CUCM.
2. We have two site. On Sit-1 has own Call Manager 10.5 and Site-2 has own Call Manager 8.X both are reachable. Now How they make a call?
Thanks
Gazi Afzalur RahmanHI Ayodeji,
Thank you for valuable update.
1. On B2B solution :-
a) Are Third party device needs to register on CUCM or not. What the B2B solution says because that device not register on CUCM?
b) Which connectivity i need Internet and SIP or Only Internet?
c) On other site are they need SIP connectivity or Internet ?
2. Sip trunk between the two clusters are we need SIP connectivity on both site or need only reachability? On this scenario are we need VOICE RT because we have different data connectivity router for both site.
Can You refer any CVD guide of implementation ..
Thanks In Advance

Integrate CP7937G with IP Webcam for Video Conference.
Hi guys,
Currently i am using a CP-7937G for my conference room. We thought of implementing a video conference.
And in a cheap way just the 'i see you-you see me' concept.
So, if i were to buy a IP webcam how do i do it and integrate it with my Soundpoint CP-7937G??
I hope you guys can guide me.So basically my new CP7937G is not supporting any video conferencing and even my desk ip phone the 7942G.
Hmmm what are the options left...? Hmmm maybe an integration with Live Meeting? But i guess i must register myself to Microsoft forum then.
CISCO VT Advantage only supports....
•Cisco IP Phone 7940G
•Cisco IP Phone 7960G
•Cisco IP Phone 7970G
And is this the only video conferencing solution CISCO currently have?
