Ipw-4965 wireless error

Hello, I am trying to get the wireless working on my laptop with the (ipw-4965) driver. i followed the guide here at
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Wir … 000-series
and i have tried enabling the interface manually (sudo ifconfig wlan0) and it just keeps timing out, i also tried adding it int the module section of rc.conf and rebooted, still with no success. I also tried fetching a new ip with dhclient and dhcpcd and again nothing.
here are some logs that hopefully are of some use.
here is my kernel.log
http://pastebin.com/69xJmZnR
dmesg.log
http://pastebin.com/XE9DvPkE
and my (uname -r)
2.6.33-ARCH
I also read something about a kernel compilation upgrade, but im not quite sure if that is needed so I just wanted to make sure, before I go and making a bigger mess of things.
Thank you in advance for all the help.
if there is any information more I could provide let me know
Thank You

With the printer ON, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer for 30 seconds.  Plug back in and turn on.
Try again.

I do not use wireless, but get wireless errors, why?

    Hi Clarence,
I'm using an i Mac O sx 10.6.8  Even though I'm using wired ethernet access, I can turn airport on and let it run while using the wired connection.  I suppose that condition may cause the errors you're getting.  Is it at all possible that you have your Airport wireless in your Mac Pro turned ON?

  • Mac Book Pro crashes wirelessly - Error Report Enclosed

I have a brand spankin' new Mac Book Pro. When I attempt to surf it wirelessly it crashes whether I'm surfing the web or even doing Software Update. It doesn't crash when I'm using the ethernet cable (at least I don't think I haven't tested it for hours upon hours that way.)
I am using Safari and I've seen some posts that Safari isn't working wirelessly. However, my computer crashes even when I'm doing Software Update and not just Safari.
I'm using a Belkin Wireless Router however I have a G5 tower with an Airport card installed and another Powerbook G4 with Airport card installed. They have no problems at all. It's only my MacBook Pro.
I can surf wirelessly for 5-10 minutes and then the screen fades to black and I get an error message that says you must Shut Down your computer or hit the Restart Button. (Where is the restart button by the way?)
When I shut down the computer and reboot I get a prompt that shows me this error message.

  • Re: Satellite Pro C870 - No Wireless, Error code 43

Have two new Satellite Pro C870's where the wireless was being disabled every second startup. Wireless NIC in device manager had an exclamation mark and was showing "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"
After performing a system restore as advised by support the issue was still there.
Just before sending the two laptops off for repair I undid a setting called "fast boot" in the bios (otherwise set using a Toshiba utility).
Issue seems to have cleared after this.

    Hi
You are using Win 8. Right?
    > Have two new Satellite Pro C870's where the wireless was being disabled every second startup
First of all you should know that Windows 8 does not perform a real shutdown.
It goes just in hybrid mode.
Maybe the error 43 is related to the fact the Win 8 and notebook did not shut down as you expected from a system like Win 7.
If you would search for error code 43 using google, you will get a lot of hits and mostly its system / driver issue.
So first of all I recommend disabling the hybrid mode and performing complete shut down:
    +Perform a complete shutdown in Windows 8+
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2B03EY0002R01.htm
secondly try the WLan driver update.
    Regarding the other issue
    >Also had an issue with the function of turning on when the panel is opened: this would cause the laptop to turn back on immediately after shutting down.
This is also an Windows 8 feature which can be disabled:

  • Printer won't work wirelessly - error 30886

I just moved to a new apartment and am using my roommate's router. I connected the printer wirelessly to the internet and am able to print a test page and get info about the printer like ink levels, etc. I have a mac, went into system pref ->add a printer with the + sign and selected default printer as mine. It won't let me click add until i select a driver and when i do, it says error 30886. What does this mean? And how can I get my printer to print? I know it's connected!

    Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
    Restart your Mac.
    Reset the printing system:
    - Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
    - Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
    - Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and then next to the "Use" pulldown, select the printer model (not AirPrint). Wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.

  • Installing HP Deskjet 3510 Wireless Error Message

I just purchased my HP Deskjet 3510 Wireless Printer today and I'm trying to install it on my Macbook so it will print wirelessly without the USB. I'm getting the follwing error messege and wondering how I can fix this? Any help?

The only way around it is to use Wireless Direct, but you will have to switch among the different wireless networks with your Mac.
Follow steps one below to enable Wireless Direct for the printer (which will act like a router):
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03382115&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en &product=5157483&tmp_track_link=ot_search
Next click the Wifi icon on your Mac, select Show Networks,
Click on Joind other network and connect to the wireless direct connection,
    Hope that may help,

    Hi Tzetz,
You can try booting from LiveCD of Ubuntu, assuming that Ubuntu identifies the device, if it does but the card reader wouldn't work, then it would possibly be hardware issue.
Also, have you run a full diagnostic test on the system via ThinkVantage Toolbox?
I know, reinstalling Windows can be pain in the neck, however it would help in determining if this is software problem or hardware's fault.
    Hope this helps.

Cannot get carrage to stop to take out cartridges, and printer will not reset to print.  Error message just keeps on coming up.  Also, solution center printer is disconnected.  Tried to reset the wireless connection, but it won't let me.  Error message keeps showing up.  Tried unplugging and sit for a couple of minutes, but still won't work?

  • Airport Wireless error message,

I keep getting this error message: "Invalid Password" I just bought the new macbook and this is my first macbook. So I don't know what I am doing wrong or if I should be doing something different? Thanks~

You will need to provide more information. Whose wireless network are trying to connect to? What type of security does the network use? Have you even entered a password? What type of wireless router is used by this network? Have you configured the Network preferences for your Airport wireless port?
Before posting answers first check your computer's user manual for any information on how to set up for a wireless network. Next select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "wireless" and "airport" which should return several help articles you can read that may help you with the problem. Then round up answers for all of my questions and be sure to post the answers for each.

  • WRT 600N and the Intel 4965 Wireless AGN

I have a version 1 WRT 600N with the latest firmware. I have a Dell Precision that has a Intel 4965 AGN wirless adapter. I can connect a G speeds just fine, but cannot connect at N speeds. When I search for wirless networks near me I see my WRT 600N and it announces it as an N access point but will only connect as a G network.

I too am in a similar bind...
I have a hp6500t with a 4965 agn and a linksys 600n router. i have vista premium, and i wouldnt be supprised if that was the issue
    1) i can get 130 kbps, and if i am right ontop of the router, i can get a 270- i read to switch the settings at 5ghz to wide, 40 mhz.
    the questions i have are:
    1) we are suppoed to be able to get "dual connection," from what i understand- i.e. that the laptop connects twice to the same internet connection-  i think i was able to do this when i first set everything up. I used to see, (under network center in vista) two simultanious wireless connections to the same network- how do i do that?
(it may have worked better before i installed thenew driver on the 4965 card)
    - has anyone been able to use the intel wirelesspro software connection application- appartntly it doesnt install with vista.
    2) why does my radio identify "n" networks as "a"- even when i make the router only broadcast as "n" my laptop identifies it as "a"
    3) maybe its an issue of antennas installed in the laptop???
    4) is there a setting in the router to allow this?
    am i making any sence?

  • Officejet 6500 Wireless -- Error status

I have a one-month-old Officejet 6500 wireless printer.  It was successfully installed wirelessly and working well.  But... I've upgraded my router to an N-router, and now cannot get the wireless printing to work.
-- running Windows Vista on my laptop computer, and computer shows 6500 printer in "error" status
-- Printer sees my wireless network, and the Wireless Network Test Report shows no warnings or problems.
-- Troubleshooting menu on the printer screen tells me "There is no computer connection".
    Any tips???

First, did you keep the same SSID and password type and key from your old router?  If not, you will have to tell the printer about the new setup.
Second, does your new router operate in both 802.11n AND 802.11g mode?  If not, you will have to turn on 'g' mode somehow (usually a dual g/n mode is available) because the printer only has a 'g' radio.
If all above is OK, you may have to re-install the printer manually:
Verify that you can browse to the printer's internal web page by its IP address.
    1. Click "Start" button --> Printers.
    2. Under Printer Tasks, click "Add Printer".
    3. Click "Next" button on the Add Printer Wizard window.
    4. Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Deselect "Automatically detect and install My Plug and play printer". Click "Next".
    5. Under Select a Printer Port option, select "Create a new port" and select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click "Next" button.
    6. In the "Welcome to the Add Standard TCP/IP printer port wizard" make sure that the printer is turned on and connected to same network that your computer is connected to. Click "Next" button.
    7. Under "Add Standard TCP/IP Printer Port" enter the printer's IP address. Click "Next" then click "Finish".
    8. Now, select HP from the list of manufacturers, select your printer from the list of Printer models and click 'Next' button.
    9. If you can't find your printer, you'll need to find the install CD and use the "Have Disk" option to select one of the hp*.ini files. Alternatively, you can select another HP printer model from the same type.
    10. Add the print spooler name and click "Next".
    11. Click "Next"
    12. Click "Next" and then "Finish"
There are more things that could be wrong, but lets start here.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Can't get wireless working

so i setup arch on a dell 640m laptop last night to use as an encoding box so as not to slow down my main system. i usually have 2 desktops, but one is down at the moment due to a flood in this area. hence i needed a second system, so i set this thing up.
now, i've setup arch a million times, and every time i have to go through the wiki to jog my memory on the configurations. anyway, i swapped an intel 4965 wireless card in this laptop a while ago, this one usually runs windows and the card works.
i installed the 4965 modules, and wicd. and this is where the problem starts. i followed the steps for the configurations. and i can't seem to get wicd to find any networks. if i run lsmod, the modules are loaded. and if i run ifconfig -a the card is there. iwlist gives me no results.
now im looking at the wifi LED above the keyboard, and its off, so i think the problem is that i can;t get the card turned on to use it. so that seems to be where i need to start. anyone know anything about these things, since i need some help here? this is the only real problem i've had, so far i got everything else working great, except i find hdd and cdrom speeds to be rather on the slow side, but thats another thing

got a solution, not my ideal solution for power management though. but i disabled the hotkey in the bios, so the wireless stays on now
