IR and ID not accessible through desktop

hello experts,
we recently installed XI server with all the post installation activities done. But we are having one problem. When we attempt to connect to Integration repository or Integration Directory it opens the pop-up asking for username and password.
With entering correct username and password, the integration builder never comes up. If we give wrong username and password it perfectly errors out. The surprising part is when we tried to access the same on the server machine those components work perfectly fine but not from user desktop. The java and web start version is same on server and our desktop.
We thought this might be network issue hence checked every port including HTTP, J2EE and RMI port but all those ports are reachable.
any answers please.thanks in advance.
Regards
Rajeev

Rajeev,
If you enter a wrong pwd it errors out..meaning it can connect and validate...Hence issue is on local machine.
On local machine reinstall j2sdk..so as to have a clean install.
Start java web Start to see if it is good.
retry and let us know..

  • Firefox runs in background (appear in Task Manager Processes Tab) only and does not appear on Desktop

    I have been using Firefox on my Desktop PC with Windows XP for a long time. However, today possibly due to some virus (I attached an infected flash drive to my PC) a suspicious change in homepage (www.delta-homes.com) of my firefox occurred. Simultaneously an error message of "WinZip" appeared on screen. I figured that there must be some software in "C:\Program Files\" which is also causing problem to my firefox. I opened Program Files and removed that folder named WinZip. (Tried to uninstall it but it won't happen so I had to use "Unlocker" to kill processes this folder was associated with and then deleted the folder.)
    From that point onward, My FireFox started to behave weird. Whenever I click on Firefox icon or access firefox.exe from any source (start menu, quick launch, program files, Run Command), it starts but appears only in "Task Manager Processes Tab". In that Processes Tab, firefox.exe is continuously using 50% of CPU but it does not appear on Desktop at all.
    To go a step further, I uninstalled firefox and tried to re-download from Firefox official website but the download fails in the start saying "Download is interrupted". (See attached Image). So I downloaded a previous version of Firefox (v 34.0) from www.filehippo.com and installed it but the same problem is happening with this version too.
    I am confused and surprised what might be causing this problem. Everything else on PC running fine. Kindly help me restore my Firefox so that I may not lose any precious Bookmarks, Settings and other Data. thanks

  • Cloud and songs not purchased through iTunes

    I want to add music from my iTunes library that I did not purchase through iTunes to my cloud storage. Is this possible or am I stuck manually adding songs to my device?

    no
    It is very important to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.

  • Discoverer report accessible through Desktop but not through Viewer

    Does anyone have a hint for me about this problem: we can use a Discoverer report via Discoverer Desktop, but when we try to access the same report through Discoverer Viewer, we get an error message: the page cannot be found.

    It sounds like discoverer viewer may not be correctly configured or the permissions on the database account may not be correct. Can you run any reports through Discoverer viewer as any other user? What version of Discoverer are you running?

  • Dock and finder not accessible after 10.5.8 update

    I updated my aluminum imac through the software update last night, unaware that I had only a few GB free space on the hard drive.
    Right after it restarted, it says the dock has crashed, and gives me the option of Ignore, Report(?), Relaunch. I select Relaunch but it's unresponsive.
    I've tried restarting the machine normally and on safe mode but still the dock and finder/spotlight all crash at the very beginning, or right after I try to access it.
    I've then tried verifying / repairing the disk and disk permissions, it says the volume appears to be OK, but still I encounter the same problems.
    I know I have made several mistakes:
    1. using "software update"
    2. having insufficient hard drive space
    3. no backup
    I'm thinking if I am able to delete some things and free up about 10gb of space, the mac should be able to run?
    Currently I am only able to access / delete things on my desktop, but there are only small files there.
    How can I access other folders? Finder does not work for me... I've also tried just dragging files from the dock to the trash but it crashes the dock. I'm stumped!
    Any help/enlightenment is appreciated!
    P.S. I'd prefer not to bring it to the Genius bar for help because it's very heavy and hard to grab onto.

    Nothing's changed after that. There's a couple of user accounts on the computer, and I tried deleting the com.apple.finder.plist in all of them. I've also restarted in Single User mode, and fsck-ed, put the computer into firewire target disk mode and run disk utility from another machine. No joy.

  • Dock looks screwy, clock is missing and LMB not working on desktop

    This seems to touch on several parts of the os at once:
    I maintain two iMacs in a retail environment - the accounts are managed and the users can only access some basic functions of the OS plus our POS software. They can't install apps or adjust settings so there's little they can do theoretically. All software is either in the OS or is made for 10.6 (MS Office on one machine, Salon Transcripts on both)
    I first had this problem on one iMac that had 10.5 (the rest were on 10.4) and out of frustration, I upgraded both machines to 10.6 and now the problem happens on both.
    1. Left clicks don't work in dock (3 button mouse. hover works, right mouse button works) or on desktop icons. Can't launch new apps but can cmd tab to active apps. Once in an app, LMB clicks works fine.
    2. An open app might leave a copy of itself on the desktop (like a buffer not refreshing) except that I can launch the app over that image and the image will remain. It's very confusing to the users who don't know how to tell the difference.
    3. The dock looses it's background graphic. The dock's mirror effect ends up mirroring everything in the lower part of the screen - apps, desktop, dock icons, etc. so the bottom inch of the screen is just a mirror of the inch of screen just above it.
    4. The top bar clock and all icons on the right half of the bar are missing.
    A reboot fixes all of the above for a short while and the problems return. This is really frustrating and debilitating during retail hours. Suggestions or fixes are welcome.
    hardware: both are iMac 17" core 2 duo MA590LL/A, 1Gb ram, 160GB drives that are mostly unused.

    Unlike SideStepSociety, I've never +wiped an HD and reinstalled from scratch+, finding it to be total waste of time. I've beta-tested every OS upgrade from Panther through Snow Leopard and always just upgrade them, ensuring that I have tested bootable backups/clones to revert back to. The only time I install the OS onto an empty volume is to test that the setup assistant does its magic by migrating from the previously good OS. Once I ensure that the procedure works, I wipe the HD, put a clone onto it, and upgrade it.
    As for your query, if the original is mucked up, so will be the backup/clone. I use Carbon Copy Cloner instead of SuperDuper!, but both are viable.

  • Data recovery options if drive not accessible through Target Disk Mode

    I have the classic data recovery question: my computer seems to have failed, and I'd like to save some data. Thanks in advance for any advice.
    Details:
    - Most recent backup was about a month ago to Time Machine (unfortunately, this laptop went off on a long trip and didn't have access to the destination disk, and then when it came home was running very slowly and my wife halted the TM backup thinking it was slowing the computer down). Some documents have been backed up more recently via Dropbox and/or Mozy, but not a couple important ones
    - When booted in Target Disk Mode, no drive shows up on the computer to which I connect it
    - When I boot from an OS X CD, a drive appears in Disk Utility with no volumes on it, and the options to 'repair disk' and 'verify disk' are greyed out.
    - When I try to just start the computer up, it gets to the grey screen with the apple and just spins.
    Questions:
    - Should I attempt anything else myself? I've never learned about Lion's Recovery Mode; can it be used to copy some data off, in the unlikely case that this computer would boot into that Mode? Would any further attempts to boot, etc. potentially reduce the chances of a professional company recovering data?
    - I'm planning to take this to an Apple Store today to confirm that this is indeed a hard drive problem and not a failed mother board or something; is there a way for me to do this myself? In the past I've used Hardware Test CDs from Apple and stuff; I don't know if those still work on modern computers.
    Thanks again for any help!

    I know I used to have a copy of Disk Warrior, but can't find it and it's probably out of date. I downloaded the Data Rescue demo, but it only got partway through scanning the disk and then failed. It told me to 'clone' the disk, but after about three days of trying still wasn't making much progress on it, so I gave up.
    However, I was able to recover the few important files I needed simply by removing the drive, putting it in an enclosure, and connecting it via USB. After 10 or 20 minutes, Finder gave me a message that said something like, "this disk cannot be repaired, and is probably damaged. You can still access the disk, but copy everything off ASAP because it will probably fail soon." Some files indeed couldn't be copied, but I could copy the things I needed.
    I assume that this is a hardware problem. To confirm, I assume that I can check it without having DiskWarrior simply by trying to reformat it? If it can't be reformatted, I assume there's no chance that it is a functioning drive. Is that right?

  • External hard drive asks for password and does not mount on desktop

    Hello all,
    I bought a portable FireWire external hard drive to connect to my iMac G4. When connecting via FireWire, a message window appears telling me that the external disk is password protected and prompts me to type a password. Neither typing my administrator password nor activating the checkbox "Temporarily remove protection" and clicking the Unlock button is successfull: the hard drive does not appear on the desktop but it is listed in the System Profiler under Fire Wire Bus. I tried the external drive on an iMac G5 where it works without any problem. So what shall I do? Does anybody know an issue to this? I will be glad for every answer.

    Have you written any data to the external drive? If not, perhaps you could add some data.
    Are you using filevault?
    You could reformat it in disk utilities.
    Here is the path...
    Macintosh-HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility
    It may be a problem with accessing the drive from different users, I could not recreate the problem with different users on my machine. I have only one machine with firewire.

  • IPhone music not accessible through iTunes

    My phone is recognized on iTunes as a device, but all of the sudden there are no music tabs or playlist tabs--the main device tab is the only thing I can click on.  And I can't manage my music through iTunes anymore.  I just updated my iTunes and my iPhone software is up to date, but it did not fix the problem.  Any clues?

    Thanks for your response.  I have turned on iTunes Match in the Settings>Music.  I cannot find Setting>iTunes & App Stores.  I do see Settings>Store and within that setting Automatic Downloads Music and Apps which I have turned on.  I don't see anywhere else that iTunes Match is mentioned except Settings>Music.  Am I mising something?

  • Workbook not accessible through Analyser

    Hi sdn,
    I have the following issue:
    User has been accessing a workbook until yesterday. However today he isn't longer able to access it through Analyser.
    He is able to access the underlying queries of the workbook rightly so there is no authorization issue. Only the workbook itself isn't accessible.
    I've checked the table RSRWBINDEXT and it indicates that the workbook is active in the system.
    Does anyone know how to make the workbook available again to the user?
    Any hint is welcome.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    Does it shows any information like this workbook is locked by user and things like that.
    Is that prompts any messages on opening that particular workbook.You can check the messages under menu BEx Analyzer->Display Messages.
    Also try to Search for that workbook in Open workbook dialog->Find.Does it say "No Objects Found"?

  • Documents and Data not accessible in iCloud: SOLVED!

    I've posted this one more to advise on a potentially very frustrating problem, which has taken me a while to resolve;
    Just a couple of weeks ago, my iMac (running fully up to date Mavericks and all the associated iApps) started failing to access data and documents stored on my iCloud. If I open any application that has capability of using iCloud storage, I get the default open document/file window with the  'on my mac' pane opening up just fine. If I select the 'iCloud' pane what I get is a repeat of the 'on my mac' pane, but with the sidebar removed. No dark grey iCloud pane, nothing. Equally, I was unable to save or move any documents to the cloud. I could access everything as normal via my other devices, but could not get the iCloud access working on my Mac. This may affect others out there, hence this post.
    After a week or two of to-ing and fro-ing with Apple Support and getting nowhere, they have suggested escalating this up to the software engineering tech guys in Cupertino. We tried signing in and out of iCloud, deleting the iCloud files in the ~/Library/Application Support, with no joy. Every time, the same issue... we had established that it must be something to do with the user settings, because if I logged in from a different account, I had normal iCloud access.
    HOWEVER...
    I have solved it, by doing the following:
    Setting up a new user account with Admin rights;
    Deleting the old user account, but keeping the original HOME folder;
    Rebuilding the home folder in the new account, following this advice: http://www.cnet.com/uk/how-to/how-to-rebuild-a-user-account-in-os-x/
    Going into iCloud from Safari, and do a reset of iCloud, following this advice: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5824
    Rebooting all computers and devices that use this iCloud account
    And LO! it works again!
    I hope that this works for anyone else who encounters this problem. I have no idea why it worked, but it did!
    Cheers,
    Simon

    Thanks for taking the time to share your solution.

  • Local variable's VariableElement not accessible through treepath

    Hi,
    I'm extending TreePathScanner visitor to localize and handle certain annotations associated with variables of any kind (field, parameters and local variables).
    To do so I overrode the visitVariable method that, as far I understand, should be able to obtain the corresponding javax.lang.model's VariableElement for any variable (whatever its kind) based on the current three path, see code bellow.
    It does work well with fields and parameter, however with local variables Trees.getElement simply returns a null. All the information is in fact in the code tree VariableTree node and I could retrieve what I needed from it but rather refrain from using com.sun. ... API if not really necessary and of course implement the processing twice.
    Perhaps the javax.lang.model.... object tree is not built for elements within a method body? or is this a bug? com.sun.source.util.Trees#getElement javadoc only says that a null is returned if the element is not "available".
    Thanks in advance.
    import javax.lang.model.element.VariableElement;
    import com.sun.source.util.TreePathScanner;
    import com.sun.source.util.Trees;
    import com.sun.source.tree.VariableTree;
    import com.sun.source.util.TreePath;
    public class MyVisitor extends TreePathScanner<Object,Trees> {
         @Override
         public Object visitVariable(VariableTree node, Trees trees) {
              TreePath path = getCurrentPath();
              VariableElement ve = (VariableElement) trees.getElement(path);
              if (ve != null) {
                            // The case for parameters and fields.
                            process(ve);
              else {  // Funnily getElement return null for local variables
                            process(node);
              return super.visitVariable(node, trees);
    }

    I had a similar problem where trees.getElement(TreePath) was returning null. In my case it had to do with the fact that symbol resolution wasn't done yet. I was trying to invoke my TreePathScanner after calling javacTask.parse() but I had to switch to after calling javacTask.analyze() otherwise trees.getElement(TreePath) always returned null. My issues was with a TreePath for a method though.
