IR color picker doesn't use IMAGE_PREFIX

I have an application for which we changed the IMAGE_PREFIX from '/i/' to '/new_path/i/'.
This required some changes in the proxy configuration and in the dads.conf. These are all good since the whole application is working fine, except for 1 thing.
The popup color picker in the interactive report (available in highlighting menu) opens a new color picker in a popup window.
The page is however still refering to the '/i/' directory and not to the '/new_path/i/'.
(We deliberetaly block the '/i/' URLS on the proxy, only the '/new_path/i/' are allowed.)
Is this a bug in APEX ? and if so is there a patch ?

If you have an adjustment layer, make another layer active
and see what happens.
If the layer that is active has a layer mask, click on image
thumbnail to the left of the layer mask and try the color
picker.

Color Picker Doesn't Work

I'm using PSE8 on a PC with Windows7 and something seems to be wrong with my color picker in the Editor. I click on the Foreground icon (lower left of the screen), choose a color, click OK, and it doesn't change the color on the icon. The default colors seem to be only black, white or gray. I am in RGB color mode (under Image) and I have clicked Convert Color Profile to "Convert to Adobe RGB Profile" which is now grayed out. Under Edit>Preferences>General, I have selected Adobe as the Color Picker. Can anyone figure out why I am not getting the color I select for the Foreground color? Thanks for any suggestions at all!

Lightroom 2.7 color picker doesn't work

I have the new Lion OSX. I have Lightroom 2.7. I am having issues with the colour picker. It will not leave the colour palette and let me select from the image. I have tried holding down my mouse key, but it won't leave the palette. This is SOOOO frustrating! HELP ME!! LOL. This is in the adjustment brush... Thanks in advance!

It's supposed to work like this: with the mouse cursor in the palette, hold down the mouse key and drag into the image.
If you're doing that (and it sounds like you are), you may have hit upon a place where Lion and LR 2.7 aren't playing well together.
You can download the 3.6 trial and see if your problem goes away. Adobe aren't likely to fix anything in 2.x.

Can't use mouse to select colors in color picker

When I am in the Color Picker pallet and using my mouse, I can not select colors from the field or use the verticle slider bar. I can use my up/down arrows to move the little round circle, which then changes the RGB numbers. I'm in Photoshop CS2 in Windows. I tried a new document and also restarted but its still not working. Help!

Which "Windows"? There are so many of them and if this is Win 7 vs. your old CS 2, any number of things could be going on from issues with graphics drivers to specifics in the way windows are handled in W7... In any case, as a minor try a different visual theme nad make sure your graphics card configuration and driver aree suitable...

Where is the opacity slider in the color picker?

Where has the opacity slider gone in the color picker? It used to be underneath the color wheel.

Based on some reading of related discussions, and some experimentation on my own system, it looks like the opacity slider only appears in some contexts and programs. For instance, it doesn't show up when I am choosing a font colour in Word 2011 or TextEdit. It does show up when I am choosing a font colour in Omnigraffle.
Some other articles seemed to suggest it was related to whether there was a background behind whatever the colour was being set on - perhaps that makes sense as opacity only affects whether you can see through something, and if there's nothing to see behind it perhaps it is sometimes thought to serve no purpose? Perhaps it only works when the program chooses to support it? Searching Word help for "opacity" returns no results, for instance.

HUD Color Picker

the HUD color picker is pretty useful, but it's buried under a complicated shortcut (shift+alt+ctrl+right button) all held down at the same time. When all buttons are released, the color picker disappears.
Here's my question: when the picker is visible, the saturation and value automatically change as you simply hover the cursor anywhere within the 'square' portion of its window. (The color ring is on the outer edges, and I'll get to that). You don't need to click on the picker to choose a new saturation or value; you only need to hover ontop of the new saturation/value and then release the buttons when you're ontop of the saturation/value that you'd like to select. As you hover within the window, the saturation/value is automatically updating in real time depending on what location your cursor is ontop of within the square portion of the window. But the problem is that when the picker first becomes visible, the cursor is automatically placed directly in the center of its window. So when you hover the cursor to the outer edges where the color ring is (in order to shift the hue), it is also shifting the saturation/value as you pull the cursor from the center of the HUD window over to the ring on the outside. Hope this makes sense.

well, I've managed to re-map the entire process since starting this thread (using AutoHotKey). Here's what I do now:
hold down 'b' on the keyboard (hold it down, not press+release) and the standard photoshop color picker window appears. I can now choose my color, hue, and saturation (as normal). No worrying about values or saturations shifting; this is the default color picker window.
then, release 'b' and the color picker window disappears. This is essentially *identical* to the HUD color picker function, except that there are 2 improvements:
-you no longer need to press 4 keys to get it to appear (shift+ctrl+alt+right button) - you only need to hold down 'b' on the keyboard
-when you release 'b', the color picker window disappears, exactly the same way the the HUD color picker does.
The only drawback I would suppose, is that's it's a fraction slower - not *quite* as fast as the HUD color picker, but that would be nitpicking. Still works fast, and great.
But with the HUD color picker, I would still like to know if there's a way to keep the same sat/value while only shifting the hue... i find it hard to believe that Adobe implemented this HUD color wheel with such a major flaw... I'm thinking it's got to be something I'm doing wrong

Color picker does not pick correct colors

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 with pre-installed PS Touch. Has anyone else noticed how the color picker doesn't always pick correct colors? In my case, it picks a slightly darker color than the source color. I wanted to upgrade to version 1.3 to resolve this, but cannot find any upgrade option anywhere. Please help!

This screenshot is of a normal layer at opacity 100%. I first did a uniform color fill, then sampled the color. Every area of color, therefore, ought to be exactly the same, without any slight variation whatsoever.
The two brushstrokes to the left are done with the brush hardness set at 20%, with no pressure related controls, the left-most one set at 20%opacity, and the one to the right of it set to 100% opacity.
The two brushmarks in the middle are done with brush hardness set to 100%, again, no pressure related controls, the leftward one set at 20% opacity, the right at 100 %.
The two to the right are again done with 100% brush hardness, but this time, pressure related opacity control has been enabled. The left is at 20% opacity, the right at 100%.
As you can see, the center of each brushstroke seems to have thecorrect color. So I agree with georg_maximus. It appears that this issue is an opacity related one, rather than a color picker problem.

The color of the color picker changes to black and white because adjustment layers have masks and they only operate with black, white, and grays in between.

Book Module Lightroom 4 -- can I use a color picker to pick a color from a photo to use as the backg

I am trying to match a background color for a page in a Blurb book using the Lightroom 4 Book Module. Is there any way I can use the color picker to pick a color from the photo to use as the color for the background and as the type color? I see the color box for these situations, but the color picker only seems to work with the color array that pops up and doesn't go to the photo. Any suggestions? Am I overlooking something very obvious?

It works for me.
The usual Lightroom way: click the eyedropper onto the color palette first, then hold and drag to your photo to sample color.

CS5 Quick-Access Color Picker....anyone found out how to actually use it properly?

I'm a digital artist and use Photoshop for the majority of my work. One feature that PS CS5 brought on that i was initially really looking foward to was the new way to select the color i wanted in real time, rather than having to go and click on the color and then select it... minor difference i know, but it really helps speed things up not having to do that and adobe have finally implimented this due to that reason... aprantly...
However, first off, i've noticed there seems to be absolutly nothing in Photoshop that tells you the shortcut command to show this new feature, which made me have to look online for it, and then the command is rather odd itself and the panel it brings up seems pretty unusable for me. The command is Shift+Alt+Right Click. This for me is quite difficult to actually do on an intuos 4 graphics tablet althogh thats more wacoms fault with odd feeling buttons, but then, Photoshop seems to offer no way to change this shortcut command to help me out there. Also with the panel itself, both the wheel and slider, i have 2 problems:
1. I know alot of people don't work this way but there seems to be no reason it can't be changed in the preferences when you choose the wheel or slider, but i work in the "b" of LAB color, so the right bar controls the tempreture of the color and the left box of has all the colors in it...you can't set up the quick entry slider like this.
2. It takes a while to actually get the quick entry color picker to get the color you want. The only reason this is, is because the way it acts is like you are always holding down a button so its constantly selecting the colors as you go over the menu. The problem here is, say i want a dark red.... i set the main strip to red, then in the saturation part try to get the color i want by stil holding these buttons and dragging out to that part of the menu. this will work. However, more likely than not i want to change the color just a *bit* more (say, to make it look like a colder red*, well then you loose the color you just found found because as soon as you move the cursor it selects all the colors back upto the hue strip...
Now, logically i'm guessing this menu is working by figuring out when the user clicks and lets go as to when it shoud come up and dissapear. Hense requires the right click in the shortcut, and also why it is constantly selecting a color. This i imagine is also probably why it doesn't seem to be changable because it has to be like that perhaps? But i seriously would urge adobe to improve this vastly in how it works ad user control for cs6 at least. Its very uncomfortable to use and turns out being faster to do it the old way for the most part...
So in the end, i'm just checking here, that there is in fact no way to change its keyboard shortcut, what color selection method to choose from, and to see if anyone else if experiencing similar problems with trying to use it.

Some partial answers to some of my questions:
They were conveniently all in one menu, and it's very easy to tell someone, "Go to the menu bar and choose Advanced > Print Production > Output Preview."
But in Acrobat X, by default these choices aren't visible. It appears necessary to click Tools, which dramatically reduces the document width available), Print Production, and then choose from the Panel.
Since this user interface isn't standard, it's harder to describe to new users, and keeping Tools open wastes a lot of screen space.
It doesn't address the real estate issue, but at least one can describe to users they should View > Tools > Print Production and then deal with the subsequent tools pane that appears and therein click Output Preview.
Another concern is the new interface seems to have destroyed the discoverability of keyboard shortcuts. For instance, in Acrobat 9, Document > Delete Pages was clearly bound to Command-Shift-D.But in Acrobat 10, how are you supposed to find the keybinding? It is not even in the tooltip
In fact, it doesn't seem to be in the help under Keyboard shortcuts, or anywhere else in the help that I could find!

in the "Page Thumbnails" "Navigation Pane" (formerly"Pages"; still F4) the right-click context menu has these shortcuts. As does what I guess is the "options" menu (analagous to a "flyout" menu but its in the upper-left of the pane rather than the upper-right). This isn't all that great since every icon leading to a functino should show the same keyboard binding, but it's nice to know it is somewhere...

How do I get elements 12 to honor the new calibrated settings?

I don't know that these are the errors , but they're the things which don't look right ...
Throughout the shut down there is a recurring line ;

Help making a panel w/ ability to use color picker/eyedrop

First off I have no programing skills what so ever.
I'm a tradition artist. And I'm trying to bring a little of that in to my work flow. I like working with a minimal color pallet. So I made a jpeg of one of my many color wheels that I made with watercolors based off of Michael Wilcox book "Blue and Yellow don't make Green" Great book.
I also know you can get the color picker panel from http://www.anastasiy.com/
But like I mentioned. I like working with minimal color pallet.
O.K So I put the jpeg into a swf/image loader. With a couple of buttons. I use a wacom. So I was going to hook that panel up to a button on my wacom pen. so I could pop it open and close it with a push of the button. I was hoping to be able to go to the color in the panel. Click and that be my for ground color. But that didn't work. I then tried the alt. button in brush mode and clicking in the panel. that doesn't work either. I know you can click in the image and drag to the panel to select a color. But thats just not a good work flow. I want to pop the panel open and closed when I want it.
I just want to be able to pop it open the panel. float over to the color I want. Pick it. Close the panel and keep painting. Like the swatch panel. But I like working with a color wheel. and I have way to many color wheels to make custom swatch pallets in a circular format.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
