How to map the internal employee to vacancy.

Hi Siva,
There is no search specific to internal employees. If the employee has made his/her profile searchable (from their irec account page), they will show up in the list (when searched on usual things like lastname firstname etc) please try and let us know the results.

Second case in the rule file you have to map all the member fileds with the corresponding dimension name and the multiple data columns with the corresponding member names for that dimension.

The URLs mapped as Internal Url of AAM redirects to Public Url while accessing

Hi All,
I have created a web application in Internet Zone with the url "http://new.site.com". Then used that url as public url and mapped 10 internal url to it. The internal urls are like http://new.site1.com,http://new.site2.com,http://new.site3.com,http://new.site4.com,http://new.site5.com,http://new.site6.com
etc.,
The host headers has been added to those URLs in IIS also. When I tried to hit the http://new.site1.com, the address bar shows the url as http://new.site.com. The same case when i tried to hit all the other 9 urls.
But I need the internal urls to be displayed in address bar if the user types it. Kindly help me to resolve this issue.

is what connects Internal URL’s to Public URL’s, many to one.
Internal URL redirects or transforms to a Public URL, from left, to right. The URL on the left, is what you
enter in the address field in your browser, the Public URL on the right is what you will see once there, this goes for visible and invisible links as well.
Internal URL format: Protocol + URL (+non default port)
Public URL is the address of the Web Application for one of the five zones available. The ‘Default’ must be filled out and has some special properties/uses,
the other four are optional. You can only have five Public URL’s per Web Application.
This is the URL that the browser will be redirected to in the end.

Zone is a label representing a Public URL, the zone is used to ‘connect’ an Internal
URL to a Public URL. The zone names has no relation what so ever with the four Internet Explorer security zones (Internet,
Local Intranet, Trusted sites and Restricted sites) and could just as easily been named 1,2,3,4 and 5. A zone can also represent an authentication provider.
Zones: Default, Intranet, Internet, Custom, Extranet
so it clearly says that Internal url will not be shown in browser only public URL will be shown.
So in your case i suppose what you want to try is not possible.

XW 4600 Workstation sound mapped through internal speaker?

Windows XP Professional SP3
This computer is only bout 2 months old, and has had this problem from the beginning:
The sound... that is, the BIOS/POST beeps as well as system sounds, music... *ALL* sound... plays through the internal speaker.
I plugged a set of external speakers into the green jack on the rear, but there was no sound from them at all no matter what settings I tried in eith the windows mixer, or the hp-provided realtek audio manager. I even disabled the'system speaker' in windows hardware manager.
I re-installed both the soundcard driver and the realtek audio manager, and that solved the problem... sound from the external speakers, and only the BIOS/POST beep from the internal speaker.
But about once a week, powering up the computer in the morning will revert to all sound coming only from the internal speaker.
And, re-installing the driver and the realtek audio manager solves the problem.
Keep in mind - no further settings or adjustments need to be made, simply re-installing the driver and audio manger is all it takes.
This week, I went to the HP live support site and described this problem.
Their solution was to have the motherboard replaced.
After the onsite tech completed the replacement, there is now sound out of BOTH the internal speaker as well as the external speakers.
He did not know how to fix this, and couldnt find any software settings that should cause this.
Today, hp live support instructed me to unplug the system speaker from the motherboard... which, of course, stopped the sound from coming out of that speaker.
My question is this: Why would the sound be mapped through this speaker in the first place, and is there some obscure setting somewhere that needs to be disabled?

So a week ago, HP live support told me that this issue has been closed, and then told me that they are still looking for a solution to my problem.
Ummm... Which is it? If it's closed, then how are they still working on it?
I currently have NO sound from the speaker jack, and no sound (obviously) from the system speaker.
Does anyone else know how to resolve this issue?

ESS Address service for international employees.

Hello All,
We recently upgraded from 4.6c to ECC5.0 as part of this we upgraded our portal from ITS to webdynpro. We have ESS for US employees only. There is a employee who moved from Singapore to US. He is unable to update the address to US, So I updated the address in the SAP system from PA30 to US address. But the user when loggin in is still seeing the same error. The error details are as follows. Can anyone please help, this is very urgent!!!! This employee is one of the directors.

Hi ,
i have a problem regarding conversion into existing excel sheet.
I have multiple reports and i have to convert all them into an existing excel sheet.
Any solution for the same?

You can merge different internal table data to a single worksheet in an excel
Or you can keep each internal table data in separate worksheets in a single excel.

Internal sales to employees

Hi,
Our client sells cigarettess. We need to configure a scenario which will cover sales to internal employees of this cigarette company
Can someone guide me on what needs to be done on master data, sales doc type, pricing etc. Will sale to emplyees be charged to cost centre.
Will there be any config required from SAP-HR side ?

As i understood ur chargeing your own internal employees also
Create one internal customer(internal employee) one is enough suppose u have different department consuming daily (create sales regions or any specific selection) and while creating assign it in sales order level.
check with your finance people whether separate cost center is required i think it is required.

E-rec: talent pool integration w/ external vacancy board

Hi,
Our customer is downsizing, which means 6000 employees will lose their jobs in the future. To help these employees find another job, our customer wants their e-recruiting application for internal employees to integrate with an external job postings/vacancies, example MonsterBoard. This way, management and also other employees can search for vacancies outside their business, and give advise/tell on employees what would fit their qualifications. This means that the customers Talent Pool, with all education, work experience and other qualifications, should be open for external job postings/vacancies.
The integration is two-ways and the two parties must share databases. Mapping of qualification and other vacancy specific data is also a must. I also suspect we face a search engine challenge.
Does anyone have experience on an implementation with functionality as described?

DHCP/Subnets/Static Maps setup question

We have a unique teaching environment where we would like both employees (with laptops) and clients to be able to plug into any ethernet port in the building or be wireless. My question is, what is the best way to set things up so that employees always get the same ip and have access to the full range of services (file services, LDAP, Internet) but customers only have access to the Internet but not internal services. I have tried using static maps for employees but for some reason, customers sometimes end up getting one of the static maps intended for employees (and I have verified that all the MAC addresses are entered correctly). I am pretty new to Tiger server so any help is greatly appreciated.

If im not mistaking your DHCP settings are overlapping with the ips you have statically assigned. To fix this reserve say 192.168.1.1-127 for static ips and let dhcp use the remainder.

Mapping multiple Siebel BC's to a single OPA entity

My colleague referred me to this forum, so glad to know there's support for such niched technology.
Wondering if anyone has tried mapping multiple BC's to the same OPA entity using IO? This is not possible via BO Mapping due to user-key constraint on Entity Name. However, thought this may be achievable w/ IO Mapping by defining IO Component user property.
The goal is to create multiple instances of an OPA entity based on different Siebel components. Initial attempts resulted in the last IC processed overwriting previous entity instances collected. Not sure if I missed additional development steps but wanted to verify w/ everyone before seeking alternative solution.

Hi Kevin, welcome to the forums.
With IO mappings you can map different Integration Components (ICs) into the same OPA entity under certain conditions.
The most typcial case of this is when you want to map the attributes of a child (ic) into the same entity that its parent is mapped to. The most important thing here is that there must be only one child otherwise it will not be clear which child to use to populate the attributes.
You can do this by specifying the following User Properities on the Integration Component that you want to merge with its parent
name: OPAEntity value: the OPA Entity that the Integration component should be mapped to
name: OPAParent value: the OPA Entity that will by the parent of the above property. If the entity specified in "OPA Entity" is global this property is not necessary

Example
We have a mapping for the Employee Business object as an IO mapping (I'll use the "Employee Interface" IO). This Integration object has a subcomponent "Personal Address". We want to map both the Employee and Personal Address components to the global entity.
Because Employee is the top level component of the IO, it will be mapped to global by default.
To map Personal Address component to attributes int the global enity, I only need to set the User Property "OPAEntity" to "global". Attributes will be mapped automatically if name matches can be found, otherwise I can specify the attributes using the OPAAttribute property.
Note: this only works when there is one (or none) Personal Addresses for the Employee, if an attempt to load an employee with more than one Personal Address is made, the attributes of Personal Address is unknown.

Best practice on how to handle employees who do not have a last name?

We are a Canadian based company with some International employees. We have recently begun to enter the International employees into the HR module. This has led to some problems for employees from India who do not have both a first name and a last name as many of our downstream systems require both names.
I'm wondering what other companies with International employees have done in this circumstance. Can someone recommend a Best Practice? We want to ensure that whatever we do is not offensive to anyone.

Indian names vary from region to region. Sometimes Names also influence by religion and caste. Different languages spoken in India in different regions. This variety makes confusing differences in names and their styles.
Now come to the point, since you are international company, while entering the names of your international employees - i would like to suggest to consider the employees names as mentioned in their passport (If they hold valid passport). In case of non availability of passports consider their bank information or any other available information so that they didnt face any further problems like visa, banking transactions etc etc.
1. Maddepalli Venkata Ramana Rao
In this case Maddepalli will be his surname, Venkata Ramana can be his first name and Rao can be mentioned as Second / last name.
2. Hardev Singh
In this case you didnt find a surname... Singh will be considered as Surname or his ethinic recognition. In this case you can enter Hardev as First name and Singh as last name.
Make some entry fields are optional depending on the situation. Take help of an Indian origin employees help exists in your office.

How to authenticate external and internal users on different AD

What is the recommended way to authenticate external users as well as internal employees in a customer facing application?
We have external users in an Active Directory in the DMZ and our employees in our internal DMZ. Unfortunately we don't have an identity management system in place and wondering if there is a way we could authenticate user against two active directories without creating a trust between them.
We are implementing EP7.0

You can also use user partitioning. A feature of the UME which allows for having different user persistence options for different users. What you could do in this case have the external user stored in the local db or an LDAP for the external users and the internal users stored in an internal LDAP directory.
