Irfrared dongle, MacBook, and Nokia phone

I have Intel core 2 Duo MacBook, Nokia 8210 cell, and Bafo 7030 infrared dongle and I want to access internet with a dialup from Nokia. I have installed the driver for the dongle and the Mac "sees" it in the USB listing in the System Profiler. The question now is: how do I set it all up so that I can dial out and make the connection through the usual "location" settings?

For the phone to appear on the desktop when plugged in via USB you need to use USB Mass Storage mode (or whatever Nokia call it) not Media Transfer.
For iSync you need to download the E71 iSync Plugin from the Nokia web-site:

Place the photos into iPhoto on your Mac.  Then when syncing your iPhone using iTunes, clock on the "Photos" tab behind your iPhone's summary tab and make sure the sync instructions are set correctly.

If they are in an iPod backup, then restore another iPod, iPhone or iPad from that backup

  • Why are there no plans for BlackBerry? How are Android and Nokia phones priority over BlackBerry's? Big mistake no? You're excluding a big sector, please advise

I just want to know whey Mozilla is excluding a big sector of the mobile phone community. There are so many more BlackBerry users at least here in the US than Android and Nokia phone users. Please advise why I have to be excluded from using my favorite browser on my BlackBerrry Torch 9800.

We do have plans to create a BlackBerry version of our iOS app, Firefox Home. For details, see http://blog.mozilla.com/mobile/2010/09/28/firefox-home-looking-to-the-future/

  • Display of Custom Item in Emulator and Nokia Phone are different

I'm creating a Custom Item which will either display text or image depending on the parameter. I tried with both displaying of text and image on the emulator and it looks reasonably well. However, when i install in my Nokia 6210, the display is not the same. The longer text (more than 30 characters including space) appears to be truncated as the Nokia 6210's screen width seems to be smaller. Then, i increased the minimum height in my code and break the texts to 2 lines to be displayed. Again, it's displayed well in the emulator but on the phone, the 2 lines of texts are overlapping.
For image, i can position the image by changing the anchor of the image and x & y in g.drawImage. Again, it's displayed correctly on the emulator but it's not well aligned on the phone and the image looks to be smaller with the background rectangle of the Custom Item.
What i want to achieve is to display the texts or image well aligned horizontally and vertically in various J2ME devices. Can anyone give me some clues like what parameters to change or to take note?

This forum isn't the complaints department, it's a place where users help each other. Obviously a fellow user cannot help you to resolve this.
What you need to do is call nokia care in India and ask for the official complaints address. You will then need to write a polite letter (not an email) detailing your issues. They will respond to you and try to resolve the situation.

  • Continuity Problems between Macbook and iOS devices

When I watch the WWDC 14 live, I was so excited about the new Continuity features. So I bought a Macbook Pro to work with my iPad Air and my iPhone 5s. However now with all my 3 devices on latest system. Mac OS X Yosemite and iOS 8.1, some features just not works for me. First of all,  when I trying to set a instant hotspot for my Macbook. It does't show up. Neither my iPad (Cellular)  or my iPhone. So I have to go to my iPhone or my iPad to set up a personal hotspot. However it works between my iPad and iPhone. I can find my personal hotspot in Setting>Wi-FI Personal hotspot. And of course both of my Macbook, iPad and iPhone are in same Apple ID and both Wi-Fi and bluetooth turned on.
Secondly, I couldn't send SMS from my iPad via my iPhone. Again, they are both in same apple ID and same Wi-Fi condition. Weirdly I can send SMS from my Macbook and making phone call as well.
So really, I have no idea what's going on. Could any one explain?

Well, nevermind. It suddenly decided to start syncing, somehow! Not sure what I did to make it work though.
Anyway, this is still not what I was expecting. The only way to synchronize what I have in iBooks with the iOS devices, is through iTunes, and I need to be in the same network, right?
I thought this would be something more like iTunes Match, where I could have all my ebooks and PDFs up in the Cloud and download them to my devices whenever I needed them.
Do you know if there's any app providing this type of system?
    Thanks a lot.

  • Bluetooth: Cannot pair MacBook Pro 15" (early 2009) and Nokia cell phones

When I try to pair my Nokia cell phone (E65) with my new MacBook Pro 15", the bluetooth assistant hangs after the input of the pairing code. I tried another Nokia cell phone in addition (N70), but had the same issue.
When I initiate the pairing by the phone, then the pairing process seems to be successful, but I still cannot use the bluetooth connection with the phone afterwards (e.g. browsing files on it, 3G internet connection). The connection becomes established for a few seconds, but then the phone is being disconnected.
I never had these problems using my old black MacBook. It still works when I try today. So it must be an issue of the new MBP.
I successfully paired the New MBP with my old MB via Bluetooth - could transfer files for example without any problems. Therefore I think that the Bluetooth hardware (Broadcom) seems to work properly.
The MacBook Pro 15" has the Broadcom chipset, while the old black MacBook has the Cambridge Silicon Radio chipset. Maybe there's an incompatibility between Broadcom and Nokia (?)
    Any ideas? Thanks!

I also have an early 2009 15" MBP and am experiencing bluetooth pairing problems. When I first started this computer, I successfully paired my Sonyericsson HBH-DS980 headphones. While using this connection, I accidently lost the connection by moving out of range. After this, the headphones would not re-connect. I deleted the headphones from the MBP bluetooth configuration and tried unsuccessfully to discover and re-pair. I also have another pair of SE HBH-DS220s. They initially paired and worked properly with my MBP and again after loss of connection, would not re-connect or re-pair. I do not have this problem with my first generation MBP so I know it must be something with the bluetooth system in my new MBP. I don't know anything about Mac operating systems, but I bet there is some log file somewhere that is logging a bluetooth problem and thereby locking out that type of device. I would really appreciate a MAC guru's help.
    Thanks

  • How do I get rid of error code 2001/2006? My phone is in recovery mode. I have tried several different cords, all USB ports, my macbook, and a friends PC. This is the second time my phone has done this, the first time it was an easy fix.

I have an iPhone 4. It is in great condition, always protected. A couple months ago, it randomly went black and wouldn't turn on. I put it in recovery mode, plugged it in to my MacBook Pro and would get error code 2001 then I'd get error code 2006. I read some different forums and many people said to try using a different USB port and different cords. The last cord I tried, worked and my phone was back. Last night, my phone did the same exact thing. So I used the same method I used last time, however nothing has worked. I tried plugging it in to a PC and that didn't work either. This seems like a hopeless problem that's going to continue to happen. Any advice?

Soooooooo.... You obviously need to restore the device
It seems that you have tried several options to restore it. What I would do is leave it plugged it and hold down the Home button AND the Power button together till you see the white apple appears. Then let go of the Power button but continue to hold the home button. You should get the message in iTunes again saying that the iPhone needs to be restored. Hit OK then RESTORE.
    Hope this helps!!

  • I am having trouble transfering music and pics from my old Nokia phone to Iphone 4s

Why won't my iphone 4s recognize my old phone so that I can transfer pics and music through bluetooth? It just keeps telling me it is not paired with the device but I can't figure out how to do so. The Nokia phone recognizes the iphone just fine.

Connect you rdevice to your computer/iTunes.  Go to the Photos tab. Choose to have no photos synced over and then 'Apply' the changes.

Yes it will, just sign out, then sign back in with the correct address.
