Is 1080psf export possible from Premiere or AME?

I'm exporting individual clips of EX-1 XDcam from a sequence, one clip at a time so I can also apply some level correction to the export. It is 23.967 psf at origin from the camera. I am exporting to ProRes HQ 23.967 1080p as reported by Premiere Pro 5.5.1. The time line is AJA 23.98 1080psf. The problem is that the exports are turning out to be true 1080p, not psf as the original. I'm using the clips in another program that does not create a 1080p timeline, Media 100 Suite 2.1 (latest version, came with the AJA 1080 LHi OEM board I'm using). Bottom line, is there a way to get  Premiere or AME to export a true 1080psf ProRes file? Psf is preferred in many applications. I don't see any mode select for psf, even though I am in a 1080psf timeline.

The project is already started in Media 100 Suite 2.1. It must have been a long time since you've used Media 100. Other than the fact that it won't playback until media is converted to ProRes, I prefer the simple, quick interface to any other. But the biggest reason is stability on the Mac. Media 100 Suite 2.1 is solid as a rock. I have a new Mac Pro with GTX 285 NVidia Card 24 Gb RAM, fast RAID, and I still find unexpected crashes in 5.5.1. That and the fact that 5.5.1 broke Nikon D7000 support, the main reason I wanted to get into Premiere in the first place. There is a lot of D7000 footage in this project, so I am going back and forth between 5.0.4 (which supports it) and 5.5.1 (which doesn't).  But these things are not why I posted. Just wanted to find out why Premiere is taking 1080psf footage from my EX-1 on a 1080psf AJA timeline and exporting it as 1080p. It is giving me problems that I wouldn't have if it stayed in psf. Is there any way to over-ride this behavior and get 23.98 psf out? I see settings in interpret footage. Saw an article in Pro Video Coalition that extolled the fact that it automatically interprets psf as p in 5.5.1. Does this mean I should be doing my exports in 5.0.4 to get more control over interpretation, or is there an interpretation setting I can change in 5.5.1?
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy using Premiere, I love the fact that you don't have to convert to get playback of my EX-1 footage, even though my D7000 doesn't work presently. I intend to use it for all of my titling and color correction. Maybe I'll give the next project when I am not under a lot of time pressure to Premiere. Hopefully they fix Nikon support before I have to pay a third time for 6.0. Media 100 will take the 1080p on the timeline, it just won't playback in the source window on my external monitors when the project setting is psf, and all timelines at 23.98 1080 are psf. I really don't want to edit a 30 minute documentary without source window playback.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

  • 4:3 Export Query from Premiere Cs4

    Hi there.
Im looking for some advice on best export setting from premiere please.
Basically I am making some visuals for a 12x9 screen and the visuals have to fit exactly onto the screen as there is a certian degree of mapping going on. I am editing using the project settings DV PAL 48khz
I'm wondering is it better to export as
    720x576 (D1/DV pal 1.0940)
    or
    768x576 (square pixels 1.0)
I am a bit confused as to which will fit exactly to a 12x9 screen
I will be playing the visuals Directly from my laptop via Vga cable.
    Any advice is welcome thanks!

Sorry I dont understand. Do you mean the resolution of my source media?
It is all of varying sizes and resolutions but I am editing in a 720 x 576 sequence. All of the footage is being scaled up or down (depending on the size) to fit  exactly (hopefully) the 12x9 screen
I Have put in a 4:3 guide frame in the preview window to lay clips on. This leaves a small black border at either side as a I am not editing in a 4:3 sequence I suppose.

  • Problem when exporting audio from Premiere Pro v4.2.1 into wave 5.1 format

    Hello to Adobe experts!
After installing of last updates for Adobe Premiere Pro (v4.2.1) and for Media Encoder (v4.2.0.006) the was a problem:
Now I cannot to export audio from adobe sequence into uncompressed wave format with 5.1 channels settings. Source m2ts video files in sequence are with 5.1 audio.
    What I doing:
    1) in Premiere I execute "File\Export\Media"
    2) Export settings are:
    - format: Windows Waveform
    - audio codec: Ucompressed
    - basic audio settings: 44100Hz, Channels: 5.1, Sample Type 16bit
    3) After OK button it opens Adobe Media Encoder.
    4) After pressing Start Queue in Adobe Media Encoder there is a message "Error compiling movie. Unknown error"
In earlier versions it worked fine.
Can you help me with this problem?
    Alexander

Here are the options, from a sequence with 5.1 master track:
    and with Surcode:
Notice that first one does only give stereo as an option. Nothing more. With Surcode it gives you 5.1 sound.

  • When exporting video from Premiere Pro?

When exporting a video from Premiere Pro it makes a .m4v file instead of .mp4, even though it saids in the Premiere Pro that it will make a mp4 file - and I can't use them afterwards. It has been there after I have updated last time.

Also, make sure that you check the box marked "Export Audio" if you want a MP4 extension.

  • Question: Exporting .aaf from Premiere Pro CC v8

I want to export an aaf from Premiere to be color corrected in Davinci Resolve. My export fails because some of the clips in my timeline have effects (horizontal flip, gaussian blur, volume). I get a pop-up saying "Translation Issue". What am I doing wrong?

I mean a .aaf file. I've read that it is compatible with Davinci Resolve, and I can round trip my sequence from Premiere to Resolve using .aaf. I've tried exporting it a Final Cut Pro xml as well. Both times almost immediately the export stops and a warning pops up listing all of the issues:
    Translation issue:
Sequence <Feature_Color> at 00:02:38:07, video track 7: Effect <Horizontal Flip> on Clip <JT_20131128_INTSmallMnt03.MOV> not translated.

    Translation issue:

  • Export m4v from Premiere CS5 on mac

    Hi,
I am trying to output a .m4v (one single file that has video and audio together) from Premiere Pro CS5 on mac.
    Settings I have tired are:
    h.264
    h.264-bluray
    Apple TV
The file will be used on iphone and ipad devices; however, Premiere can only output the file in two tracks (audio and video seperately).
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++
    Method I also tried is:
    Export my video to .mov
Open .mov at Quick Time Pro
Use Quick Time Pro Save As - Apple TV format.
However, it only provide as large as 960x480 size.
I need a Setting to control my video dimension as well.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++
    Anyone can help?
    -thanks ahead,
    sl

MP4 is the correct container for a file that contains video and audio, yes.
I should clarify that the use of "MP4" vs "M4V" is nearly only a semantics issue.  I only brought it up to clarify your question.  You could just as easily substitute something nonsensical, like "ZZZ" and it wouldn't change the content of the file, though it might cause some applications trouble recognizing the file.
    > why is it that I can use Quicktime Pro (Save As > Apple TV format) to render my .mov to .m4v  that contain the audio?
See my comment above about semantics for the real reason.  However, the QuickTime application plays fast and loose with a lot of rules.  I would never hold it up as an example of what other video applications should or shouldn't do.
Here are Apple's specification pages for iPad, iPad 2, and some models of iPhones.  You can see here that H.264 video is accepted in M4V, MP4, and MOV containers.

  • Blu Ray dvd writing export possible from LR 4.2 ?

    Hello,
I would like to know if it is possible to write to a blu ray dvd writer with photo files from the export module of LR 4.2. I would think that this is possible but I have found that blu ray writing is not supported by a competitor product, which I do use, and so I decided to ask in this forum.
I am contemplating purchase of a Blu ray dvd writer for this purpose.
I would appreciate any first hand experience of performing this task above in LR 4.2. (I am using Windows 7 with LR 4.2 and have not purchased a blu ray writer yet).
    Thank you,
    Debra Gillilan

    Hi John
During import turn off Opimalization video option in import dialog  window (iMovie, of course).
Don't use any optimization function during editing.
Very important is how did you export data from iMovie. Don't use "Export to iDVD" function!!!!
Always make an Export to QuickTime!
Setup an export using following parameters:
H.264 Codec, Compressor quality: high, Size: 1920 x 1080 (I assume, you source is HD)
Similar, in iPhoto use "Export" function, then choose Slideshows (or Photos, it depends, what do you want to export), and then "Own Export", and then similar parameters as in iMovie (H.264, .....)
After export you have HD movie, in .mov container. Probably in best possible quality available in iMovie.
And now try to import to iDVD. Don't forget iDVD creates DVD, what means SD (not HD).
I use Toast 10 with HD plug in (is neccessary to create Blue Ray DVD)
I had the similar error (-18771). In my case there was problem with source - ask on Roxio forum site.
    Good luck

  • Poor quality on movie after exporting it from Premiere Pro CS5.5

    Hi!
As a part of my bachelor thesis in industrial engineering, I am making an animation that shows how different types of water turbines work.
The animation it self,  I've created in a program called Autodesk Inventor. From Inventor I get an uncompressed video. This video is usually not possible to open directly, but when I convert this with FreeMake video converter, it works
    Conversion in FreeMake:
    From:
    RAWVIDEO
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    663,554 Kbps
    30 fps
    To:
    . Avi, mpeg4
    1280 * 720
    16:9
    3283Kbps
    30fps
The video looks great now, but now when i have finished editing the film in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 and exported it, the lines are very blurred and bad. I've attached a picture showing what I mean. I have tried many different settings in Premiere, but i cannot get it any better.
The picture on the left is after exporting, the image on the right is after converting it in FreeMake Video Converter.
Have tried with the flicker removal, but with poor results.
Does anyone have any tips on what I can do?

Thank you for the warm welcome
Yes, the video from autodesk is uncompressed avi. These files are impossible to import in Premiere, and i cant open them in either VLC or WMPlayer.
After a conversion with FreeMake VideoConverter they are possible to import, and they look very good in VLC.
    My Sequence settings are:
    Editing mode: HDV 720p
    Timebase: 29.97 frames/second
    Video:
    Frame size: 1280*720
Pixel Aspect ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
    Fields: No fields (progressive scan)
    Display format: 30fps Drop-Frame Timecode
    Audio:
    Sample Rate 48000Hz
    Display format: Audio samples
    Video Previews
Preview File format: I-Frame Only MPEG
    Codec: MPEG I-frame
    With: 1280
    Height: 720
Maximum bit depth and Maximum render quality is checked.
I have tried with a variety of export settings, but my current ones are:
    Output:
    Format: Quicktime
    Video Codec: H.264
    1280*720, 29,97 fps, Progressive, Quality 100, 48000Hz, Stereo, H.264
    Aspect: Square Pixels
    Render at maximum depth
    Depth: 24bit
    Use maximum render quality.
One thing I find quite strange is that i have to short clips at the beginning, which both seem fine.

  • Exporting video from Premiere 2 Encore... change video in Premiere... Encore does not reflect change

    Hi everyone,
I have a good question, hopefully it's a Premiere question, but it's also an Encore question.
First off, I have my video project, simple segments of video, that I've added to my timeline, and I've added a simple
title to the whole thing ( entire length of videos )
    So far so good.
So what I did was export the project to Encore, where it loaded fine, and in Encore I worked on making a simple DVD menu for the movie.
I did about 2 hours on the DVD menu, and then saved the Encore project.
.... then I realized that the video project in Premiere needed some tweeking, so I went back and did that.  I saved the Premiere project
and now I'm stumped as what to do next.
After I saved the newly tweeked Premiere project, I exported it to Encore, and of course, as I knew it would happen, Encore opened up
a new project with none of my menu system I had made for the DVD.  Argh, now I'm very disappointed..... HOW would I go about getting
the DVD menu to work with the newly tweeked Premiere project ?
I'm guessing I'm doing something wrong, and that there is indeed a way to fix this.  I'm really really hoping so.
Thanks for any help you can offer.
    Dave.

Hi Dave, To be honest Colin's way is the correct way to do it and it has worked so you should probably do it that way. I just like to
take the full control back so if I do make changes I like to give it another version number and then match that version number in my
new saved Encore project taken from the original. It is also the very last thing I do as well so I just find that workflow means I
control every asset and version but no doubt about it Colin's way is the correct method and the one that allows all
changes within Adobe to reflect through. Cheers, Steve.

  • Can't import audio or export video from Premiere Pro

because nobody can solve the problem if I call by phone are busy, if chatting not know resolve, if I send email no answer, this version of Premier is the worst of all, since they did Membership is pure waste time with your program ... I work my projects and then when I want to export do not leave me, if re start the pc asks me to put my membership, then we are not the files and when put to find them and not be imported or imported without audio ... because if they are good for cobar each month's installment, do not fix this problem because it makes me lose time and dinero..y the strangest part is that everyone with the pirate Premier not have this problem.

import from SD Card ...insert the SD slot on the PC.....
I put them on an external drive as protection and another file in the pc and except the two projects, when Premiere me not recognize the files try to bring them to the external disk, some occasions works, another only brings the video without audio and most of the occasions not recognize any file, so it's double work and perdidad time, and technicians Premiere in an occasion made a partition the hard disk of the PC for it to work, but only work well for a few days, as the machine will re start the same thing happens again ... now the premier technical atman only to tell me that specialized agents atenderan me, but it never happened, because I hang chat .... and tel is the same .. .but when charging if they are very punctual, I pay them for service suite.asi that they no longer do and made the comment pirates users because it's true ... they do not struggle with their cracks, I am Premier User pirate ever paying for more than 10 years ago, but since started membership, this has been an ongoing problem.

  • Some footage exports jittery from Premiere CS5

This is an issue I'm getting rather inconsistently. I will export series of videos and there are times that just one of them the footage just goes nuts on. I can't really find a rhyme or reason, as I export them all with the same settings in a series. I've tried re exporting, making export adjustments, and restarting both the program and my computer, but the same episodes end up the same way, and the source footage is from the same batch as the rest. Before I thought maybe I had to many adjustments going on in one episode, but this is not happening in basic stuff I do quite often, I can't figure it out at all.
Heres a sample of whats going on.

    Thanks for your time.

How does one change the bitrate?
