Is 64 bit Adobe Reader available?

Hi,
I have a question.  Is 64 bit Adobe Reader available?

Hi kvk1985,
Adobe Reader is a 32 bit Program that works on 64 bit as well.
There's no separate 64 bit Reader available.

Rave

If you mean audio notes, that is not a feature in Reader for the iPad. There is no support for multimedia in Reader for the iPad at this time.

  • Windows 7 64-bit Adobe Reader 9.3 and IE8 - Opening PDF in tab and then closing said tab causes IE8

I've been running Win7 64-bit for quite some time now and only up until a few weeksa go started to have problems with Adobe Reader continuing to ask me how I wanted to read a document and to click here to save the settings and not ask me again.  The check box never worked and it would continue to ask me constantly every time I opened up a new PDF file.
I finally figured out how to get rid of the nagging dialog box but now each and every time I open up a new tab with a PDF file in it and then close the tab, IE8 crashes and tries to recover the tab.  This never happened before.
What is causing this and how do I fix this?  Please advise.
Upgraded to 9.3 this morning and problem remains.  Tried uninstalling all traces of Adobe Reader and reinstalling but still no dice.
Problem also happens at home on a similar computer running Win 7 64-bit and running an older version of Acrobat and Adobe Reader.

    Try this:
Right click on the IE8 icon in the taskbar. A menu pops ups up. Right click again on "Internet Explorer". Then left click on "Run as administrator". I had a different problem with Reader and this solved the problem. The problem I had was I could not save pdf files in IE8. This solved that problem.

  • Adobe Reader availability in the new market places?

    Hi,
Microsoft has recently expanded the marketplace around the world.
Sadly, most developers still don't know they need to update their applications to make them available in those countries.
And the adobe reader is not an exception.. I really need this application and it would be great to get it again.

Thanks, but no luck. Adobe Reader Get Info does not show a Rosetta option. I also downloaded the latest version of Quicktime, at the suggestion of the Adobe knowledgebase. That failed as well.

  • Quicken printing, Vista 64-bit & Adobe Reader 8

Intuit reports that there is a conflict between Quicken and Adobe Reader version 8. Their solution is to degrade to version 6. However, version 6 will not run on Vista 64. I am unable to print anything from Quicken while my printer works fine in every other case.

    Thanks,
I found this reg fix that worked as well. For others, here it is in case they drop it on the other site in the future
    add the following key to your registry;
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Classes\CLSID\{DC6EFB56-9CFA-464D-8880-44885D7DC193}]

  • 64 Bit Adobe Reader

After installing/upgrading to Win& Ultimate, I dcided to use 64-bit....Regretting it. Many programs have a problem, mostly Reader. Tried using a lower version(s) of reader...didn't work. Windows won't let ypu change to 32bit or downgrade explorer?????
Got Word 2013, used as default, but when it works...converts to Word Doc and heavy graphics are misplaced.
    Same with the Buance converter.
What works, most of time, it to have the ,pdf extention defaukt for Chrome..

    1. There are TWO (2) different versions of Internet Explorer in a 64 bit system - One, in Program Files, the other, in Program File s(x86). Unless your OS is really really really screwed up, there should be nothing preventing you from opening either one. Because Reader (AcroRd32.exe) is a 32 bit application it (the plugin) won't work with 64 bit IE.
    2. Word IS NOT and never will be a PDF viewer. PDFs are "printed" and contain "unicode" as data from the "printing" process. Word CANNOT interpret unicode and only reads it as garbled script.
    3. Reader, as a 32 bit app WILL run outside of IE on a 64 bit system through the SYSWOW64 (32 bit compatibility) built in to Windows 64 bit.

  • Adobe Reader embedded in 64 bit web browser

    Hi
I'm to develop an application in which PDF files are displayed in an embedded webbrowser on a Windows Form. It is a requirement that no external applications open when a PDF is displayed, and that the application is a 64 bit Windows application. What this mean is, that the embedded Internet Explorer webbrowser control will also be 64 bit. The current Adobe Reader Internet Explorer plugin, as I understand it, cannot run in a 64 bit environment, but rather launches the stand-alone 32 bit Adobe Reader program. In keeping with the requirements I have, is there any way (now or in the foreseeable future) to get Adobe Reader to show PDFs embedded in a 64 bit Internet Explorer?
    Kind regards,
    Thomas

Do you really use the Adobe Reader plugin, or Chrome's own PDF viewer?  See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html

  • FDF file not opening in IE 8 with Adobe reader 9 or Adobe pro 9

    Hi
I have a fdf file that is  working fine with IE 7 when I am using adode reader 9 or pro. But the  same fdf is not working fine if my browser is IE 8 . The target element   for the fdf is a file that is there in our web server. The same FDF is also working fine in IE 8 if the version is reader used is 8 or lower
can any one help me to fix  this.
    Thanks in Advance
    RAVISH G

I will add a "Me too" onto this thread. I have to use a third-party site which sends an FDF document (over Internet Explorer), however Adobe Reader doesn't load inside this browser window, but rather launches itself *outside* of this browser window (in standalone mode, more or less)...
In fact, when Adobe Reader is loading outside the browser window the only thing I have here is the original PDF document where the data should be added on. The PDF file is actually a form but I have it displayed "blank", that is without any user-provided data. On Internet Explorer's point of view, I only have the "PDF File" icon in the center of my window, but nothing else (all white)
    Here are the specs:
    Toshiba Satellite laptop
Windows Vista Home Premium, all patched
Latest Adobe Reader available when typing this reply (9.3)
    I have:
Uninstalled, reinstalled Adobe Reader, but nothing better happens (Adobe Reader just pops out of the browser to display the original PDF file)
Upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 (as I was running IE7 on this PC), also added the URL of the intranet site in question in my "trusted sites" in IESpeaking of Internet Explorer, I also did a "reset to default values" many times over this process
Double-checked the values in the Windows Registry in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT to see that both FDF and PDFs are gonna be executed on Adobe Reader (I have no other PDF readers or writers installed anyway)
Double-checked that the Activex control that is needed to be run so Adobe Reader can start is actually whitelisted in Microsoft's IE registry, more on this here
Ensured that Edit, Preferences, Internet, "Display in the browser" is in fact checked. I did the extra mile here: I unchecked, pressed OK, left Adobe Reader then came back to enable it again just in case something doesnt get written accordingly to those settings in the UI.
    Now i'm out of clues
For what its worth, only internet explorer gives me this problem, Firefox and Chrome just opens Adobe Reader inside the browser with the FDF provided.

  • There is an internal Adobe Reader error while copying to the Clipboard.

Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64 bits
    Adobe Reader Vesion: XI
That error is very easy to reproduce: select two or more lines of a pdf document and press "cntl + C" several times in repetition. Frequently 4 ou 5 followed repetitions trigger that issue. A curious thing happens when "cntl + C" starts to fail: the copying process through "Edit > Copy" menu still works. But if you try repeated times to copying through "Edit > Copy" menu, then this method also starts to fail too, but at the same time of this failure, "cntrl + c" starts to work again (it is like a seesaw).
My computer has no skype plugin installed, so the skype plugin + Internet Explorer is not the root cause of that issue.
This problem occurs even if I am running only Adobe Reader XI application, i. e., without start Internet Explorer, or any office application, or windows live messenger, or skype, etc.

    in windows 7
    start-control panel-uninstall programs
uninstall the "Skype Click to Call", this will uninstall addins from ie, firefox, you dont have to uninstall skype.
in ie and firefox you can disable addons but can not uninstall them using ie or firefox interface, when you uninstall Skype Click to Call, it will remove it from all added browsers.
    This works me now.
    Edit 1:
Unfortunately skype trick does not work.
I recently switched to windows 8 and reliazed that there is no copy error any more.
    Edit2:
This error maybe caused by Babylon dictionary which has an Adobe Acrobat or Reader addon which captures the text from pdf documnet when ctrl+right mouse click. This feature is enabled when it is copied to" C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\plug_ins " or  "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 9.0\Reader\plug_ins " directory, so if it is copied such copying error appeared, if not copied it does not appear. Baylon dictionary addin is installed when you install babylon dictionary software, and it is here " C:\Program Files (x86)\Babylon\Babylon-Pro\Utils ", its name is " BabylonRPI.api "
    Edit3:06-April-2013
My experience is that Babylon Dictionary was causing this error. With babylon version 10 acrobat does not give that kind of error anymore, on windows 7 x64, but previous version leftover files may cause this error again even if you remove previous versions and install version 10. With a clean install of windows 7 x64 with babylon dictionary version 10 there is no error anymore.

  • Adobe Reader V 9.3.4, V 9.4.0 or V 10?

How soon can we expect a full version of Adobe Reader (in .msi form) available for download.that is the most current version?  From this forum, it already looks like Reader 9.3.3 is having multiple problems. There is a running joke at work that patching Adobe Reader is more time consuming than patching Microsoft operating systems. We have over 10.000 machines that have to be patched and I know of no other software that is as buggy as Adobe Reader, although there are several other Adobe products that seem to require a lot of patching.. I know this seems very negative, but it is very frustrating to always be behind in updates because there are so many of them and Adobe does not create a rational path to patching for enterprise environments. Give us a break out here. Good customer service is always appreciated.

    Hi Sandy,
The latest Full Adobe Reader available for download is Reader 9.3.3 available as an EXE whilst Full Reader available as an MSI is 9.3.0.
The 9.3.0 MSI can be combined with the subsequent patches/updates, in form of an AIP and then pushed across your network via GPO. The patches releases till date are 9.3.2, 9.3.3 and 9.3.4.
AIP creation can be accomplished using the instructions provided at: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/acrobat/pdfs/gpo_ad_9.pdf
I have been using Adobe Reader 9.3.4 in my network setup (albeit a smaller one than yours ), and its working without any issues. And it certainly doesnt take as much time as a Windows Update as well..
Hope it works for you as well.!!

  • Adobe Reader Will not open any Type of PDF

I resent days I have had to deal with my Adobe Reader X not wanting to open and show any type of PDF's whether it is from a downloaded file to a PDF that is being opened on the web.  It will give me a blank black screen and tells me that adobe reader is unavailable and should be restarted and when I do this is still does not want to open anything.  I have uninstalled and reinstalled every adobe format on my computer and it still will not open a PDF and not I am left to wonder what is going on.  If there anyone else that is having his problem at this time?

My system is windows 7 32-bit

  • Process of Adobe Reader XI, is running in the Background, after closing.

    Hi,
when I close the Adobe Reader XI, the Process is still running in the Background of my System. The Process needs a lot of CPU an after some moment my System is slowing down rapidly.
    Windows 8 (64-bit)
    Adobe Reader 11.
    What's to do?
    Greetings

Same exact same situation happened to me with Windows 8 64 bit, Adobe XI .
the CPOU is slowing down and is heated. the fans s running all the time. the only solution was for me to end the processes from the taks bars (one process per adobe file open !!!)
somethign is definitely wrong; but don't know if it is Windows 8 or Adobe; I thing it is Adobe issue.

  • Problem mit öffnen mehrerer PDF's in Adobe Reader X

    Hallo Adobe Community

  • Adobe Reader X 10.1.1: PDF does not display in browser

    Hello,
If I click on a link to a PDF-file, this PDF-file does not display in browser eventhough I have checked "Display PDF in browser" (Preferences ==> Internet ==> Web Browser Options) but instead Adobe Reader X opens the PDF-file outside browser. What is wrong?
    Thank you for your help.

I solved the problem. I used Internet Explorer, 64-bit. If I use Internet Explorer 32-bit the PDF-file displays in browser. If I use Internet Explorer 64-bit Adobe Reader X opens the PDF-file outside browser.
