Is 7200 RPM HDD a problem for the MAc Mini?

I need to replace my Mac-mini HDD. I purchased a Travelstar 500Gb Drive.
It is 7200 RPM.
Will I have any problems? I understand most mac mini 2.26Ghz HDDs are 5200 RPMs.

I put one of those into my 2010 Mac Mini almost a year ago and it kicks butt on the 5400 RPM HDD.

The simplest way is to drag it across wirelessly using the 'Airdrop' application once both computers are near one another. 'Airdrop' can be found near the top, on the left hand side menu, within 'Finder'.

I'm sorry, I should have said thru Bluetooth, not Wi-Fi. I want to use the mini as a base station and the iPad like a laptop that I can sync when I'm home and carry with me when I travel. Spotify is a problem for the Mac OSX update Yosemite 10.10

When i downloaded the new update for the Mac: OSX Yosemite 10.10 - my macbook could'nt be shut down anymore.
I've called the Apple helpdesk and we both tried to figure out what was causing this problem. After some tests it seemed that Spotify was the problem of all this. (Something that is called Spotify manager? was failing with the start up of my Mac).
So i hope this problem can be fixed, because i had to delete Spotify for that my Macbook could work normally again.
And it's ashame, because i can't use Spotify anymore now.
I hope that this will be fixed, so i can enjoy music again.

Same here, tried to install first time on 10.10.4, gets a black screen and can't quit app. Looks like this app is not compatible with OSX 10.10 That's awesome, how do you expect Mac users to stick with your company when there is an alternative for the same price. Even more so when your app does not even run properly on OSX updates. Get it fixed, fast or I'm leaving. I'm a premium user, not a freebee.

4GB of RAM is supported for the Mac mini not 2GB

Its my first post and this is by no means the first one on this topic or with this finding, so your patience is appreciated.
I just wanted to tell everyone how happy I am that I put 4GB of DDR2 PC5300 RAM in my brand new Mac Mini and it works great. Apple say it only supports 2GB, why? The mac mini is not the easiest thing to upgrade I must admit. If you don't know your way around a PC then get a service centre to do it. But there is plenty on youtube etc to help you out.
Lots of people are only going up to 2GB as they do not want to risk paying for 2 x 2GB and it turns out not to work. It just so happened my Acer laptop had 4GB of the exact same RAM so I tried it out and it worked perfectly.
4GB in an Mac Mini is great as it means a fully functional mac for under £600 (inc RAM upgrade). I almost spent over twice that much on mac book pro and for my needs the mac mini matches it (any extra capacity the mac book pro has would go unused).
So I made the jump from PC to Mac and I am really happy. Macs are great esp for my creative needs. But they are generally tools and toys for rich people which is why I avoided them for so long.
Lets not forget guys if Apple supported the fact that 4GB works then why would you go out and spend all that money on a Mac that other than having a great screen (iMac) only offers 0.2-0.6Ghz more in power than a Mac mini that costs less than half the price.
iMacs are great as are mac books pros, but my Mac mini other than its graphics card offers me the same and looks great!!

The mini is a steal and one of Apples best products I think. Design is great, value for money is great, features are great. It is a Mac for under £500! I have just purchased a RAID 1 based 800GB firewire drive for £130 from Amazon to make up for the small disk on this baby so my setup is even better. I have spent less than £700 and I am over the moon with my purchase. Find me another Mac or PC for that matter that provides me with so much for so little.
Oh and it also work great as a music player too. Comes with a remote for Front Row so when you are not using it as a computer it works amazing as a hi fi. It is amazing.
2.0ghz is more than enough juice for many things. I am running my Logic Studio and it is working very well and such an application requires above average juice. So for the average user who needs to pay twice as much for the extra .2 or .4 ghz.
I am going to get over this soon guys. Just happy thats all.

The best monitor for the mac mini?

I am interested in getting the Mac Mini 2012 with 2.5GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and 4 GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory and Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB. But I'm struggling trying to figure out what monitor will suit me best.
I'm looking for a monitor that's between 23' and 26' and I'm looking to use it by connecting the HDMI into my future Mac Mini and be getting 1080p with it. I'm mainly looking at a Dell or a Samsung monitor. I could really use some help and get some advice from comments on what monitor will make it run very smoothly!

What's the best mount for the Mac Mini?

I'm toying with the idea of mounting my Mac Mini under my desk and was wondering if anyone had any experience with any of the available brackets?
I'd also like input for a bracket that would allow me to mount an external hard drive that has the same profile as the Mac Mini.

What is the best wireless mouse/keyboard combo for the Mac mini.

Right now I'm using a Logitech k360 keyboard/mouse combo that works great on my pc but it's horrible on my Mac mini. I'm even debating whether I should return the Mac mini because I think something may be wrong with it. Also, my Mac mini is inside of my entertainment center which has a glass door on it, could this be part of the problem?

This should be no issue whatsoever. I have a very similar setup
with the Mini inside and enternainment center w/glass doors.
Just make sure there is enough room to have sufficient air flow
around it.

What exatly do you mean by working horrible? Just what is
actually going on when you use them. As I see on the website
Logitech only specs Windows OSes, it could be a driver issue.
Also, if this is the new Mini, do you have external USB3.0 drives
connected to it? There have been issues with Bluetooth, however
the Logitech specs do not state that it is Bluetooth but could
still be affected.

Video card problem for 2013 Mac Mini.

I downloaded a game and when I try to shoot it up it says critical error. It says to update the video card driver and is hard to find which one to download.

What game...? Check the game spec's.
The integrated Intel HD Graphics 4000 in the Mac Mini may not support that game.

You don't have to install OSX on the new hard drive if you have an external enclosure to put he new hard drive in. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to mirror my internal 60GB to the 200GB external and then swapped the drives out. The reason Apple doesn't offer the 7200rpm drives in the MacBook is to differentiate product lines. Nothing more. Some drives are thicker than others though. I'm not sure if the new MacBook has the same or more internal space for a replacement drive.

I am going to start editing raw footage in premiere pro. I would like to update my laptop to help with rendering times. Tommorow I will be installing 16GB of RAM. Which will be better for storage a 7200rpm HDD or and SDD drive? I am seeing conflicting views on the web. I figured that this will be the best place to ask, since I am upgrading primarily for this program. I appreciate the help.

No clue what would be conflicting between the two. Both the internal operating speed of data handling and the i/o to the system over any sustained period of time are so vastly higher for a modern and large-ish SSD compared to any HDD that it is a total no-brainer. In fact, on the tweaker's page, they point out that for a really monster system, set up RAID's of multiple SSD's. Lacking that, RAID's of four or five linked fast LARGE HDD's which will be noticeably slower than the SSD option but typically better than single HDD's, even using one for each part of the process.
For both the processing of data to present a view on the monitor during editing and during rendering, it's not the "burst" speed numbers that count ... it's the sustained long-term data transfer counts that matter. Which are different from what many think they are ...

After 1/2 an hour of trying to make a "VIP folder for someone," I got the right info from googling and handled the situation in one second! Once again, I have come to the conclusion that I should google any Apple problem, rather than staying within the confines of Apple Help, etc.

I have a Mac Mini - here, in the States.
I may have the opportunity to spend time in England and would love to bring the computer with me. Did Apple make a power converter for it? Would DC power hurt the MINI? Anyone have any suggestions?
