Is a 2,4MB/sec speed in a wi fi ad-hoc mode normal for G-410m-mm?

Hello!
Is a 2,4MB/sec speed normal for copying a 20gb file from a Vista x64 with Zyxel G-202 EE to G410m-mm through a wi fi in ad-hoc mode? Why is the 2,75MB/sec speed in the oposite direction higher?

Dmitry

  • Is it normal for your download speeds to drop as l...

I'm getting a range of speeds atm as I'm coming up to my first week. Since Friday it's ranged from 8mbps to 37mbps. Is it normal for it to go as low as 8mbps? Also, my ping has ranged from 18ms to 44ms. Is this also normal?

Thanks for the info, btw.. I had a powercut in my area earlier today, so my internet was down for about 2 hours. Now it's back on, does the 10 day period restart? As I remember the engineer telling me that I shouldn't turn the hub/router off during the next 10 days, but obviously this was out of my control.

  • Too low(400Kbyte/sec) speed with USB MSI-6545 (and printer HP-1200, sc

    Hello!
I Use motherboard MSI-6545(i850, with 3 USB 1.1 ports),  printer HP Laserjet-1200 and scanner HP scanjet-5400.  OS Windows Xp pro SP1.
2 cables USB are length 3m.
I have found that speed of downloading from scanner to PC and from PC to printer is about 400Kbytes/sec instead of 1500Kbytes/sec. Very very slow.  Why?
The support of HP  X(  have forwarded me to you…
    Can you help me?

    1) 3 USB 1.1
    2)No
    3) Sorry? no
Understanding why in Windows XP peripheral devices work in some times more slowly, than it is necessary, has encountered the strongest restriction of a bandwidth. That is USB allowed a maximum 400Кбайт/sec instead of 1.5Мбайт/sec. Especially it affects at scanning and a printing of the big graphic files.
Bought expensive firm cabels (according to a kind support HP.ru), has spent a heap of time …
At last, according to the friend has climbed in device manager in properties USB controllers (on mine i850 their two 2 sockets each). Also has been shocked by a phrase:
“ The table below shoes you how much bandwidth each USB controller is using. Each USB controller has a fixed amount of bandwidth, which all attached drivers must show ”. On the first controller – 12 %, on the second-20 %. Also it is not known how to increase them.
Who knows, how these values increase even up to 90 %?

  • New Airport Extreme running at 80kps on 4MB/sec ADSL line

    Hello
I would welcome any suggestions on the following problem. I have recently purchased a new airport extreme to replace an old Dlink 11mbps wireless router attached to an ADSL modem on a 4MB/s line. I have a 6 month old iBook and a new MiniMac both running Tiger and I have the latest drivers and firmware on the computers and the Airport base station.
By introducing the airport extreme I was expecting a small increase in speed (2 x?) but I find the Airport extreme network running more like an old dial up modem (measured at 80kps). I have tried moving the base station around (even standing it next to the mini Mac) I have tried with and without encryption, I have tried all 13 channels and running the airport at 54 and 11 mbps. Replacing the new airport extreme back with the old Dlink unit makes the network run like it always used to before the upgrade.
If anyone can think of some solution I would be most grateful.
    Thanks
    Konrad

Well, after another call with Apple support and the engineers, no success.  After spending over 20 hours trying to debug this, I give up.  Apple was basically fishing for a solution with trial-and-error settings on the iphone.  Then they wanted me to plug in software to log my iphone connections to the router, etc, etc., etc., at which point I decided I no longer wanted to participate in their testing process and will simply return the router.
25 hours of my life I'll never get back.
Big bummer, and frustrating for all the obvious reasons.

These speeds, coupled with a ping time of around 300ms has made my broadband worse than useless!!! The Kids are driving me mad as Xbox live and Call of Duty online is just a mere pipe dream the way it is at the moment
Never thought I would say this, but why did I leave talktalk????
What can I do???? Nothing has changed with my internal wiring and all I have done is change the talktalk router for the home hub.

    Hi Martsamps,
20Meg ADSL2+'s Upload speed is rate adaptive unlike the old 8Meg ADSL connections (Which are capped at 448kbps). Looking at your line attenuation, it looks like it won't get any better im afraid. Hopefully someone can confirm this. It could be that the homehub isn't as good on your line as your old TalkTalk router (It's been known to happen).
    Cheers

  • Is it normal for screen to go blank for a sec. when waking from sleep?

When I leave my MacBook sleep for a while, then wake it up, the screen will display, then go blank for a sec., then display again.
Is this normal? I don't believe it is the flicker, as my screen is solid at other times.

Not sure if it's exactly "normal" but I've notice mine do that once in awhile. I've got a first generation MacBook and it hasn't seemed to have an effect on it yet.
I don't think mine does it all the time (I really don't pay that much attention to it) but I have noticed it.

  • Can I have a "Speed Dial" or "Fast Dial" as my home page for Safari?

Is there anyway to do this?
I would really like to be able to have Safari set up with some type of Speed dial.
For those of you who dont know, its basically a home page with about 9 different thumbnails that are constantly logged into their own sites.
    Its very quick and efficient.

I think he's talking about something like the Fast Dial extension for Firefox (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/5721) but for safari. I use it on firefox and would like to see it on Safari too

  • Is it normal for my DL speeds to drop in half while streaming video off media server with E4200v2?

I am on a 3MB plan and i noticed DL speeds drop quite a bit while the streaming from the media server?  is this normal?
Also my Linsys ATA is on a static IP and when I review in Devices it will show offline though someone could be talking on the phone.  What would be causing this?
Kind of new at all this stuff. Thanks in advance.

There's a whole bunch of articles on the internet on DSL PPPoE MTU.  If you google "DSL MTU 1492", you'll probably find a lot better explanations than what I can give you.......
If you want to run the test in the link below, you'll find that 1464 is the mtu without fragmentation.  Then you add 28......and you'll get 1492.

  • Speed Less Than Ten Percent of What I Pay For.

I live in Denver and I have a Blast! package, which from what I've read should give me anywhere from 50 to 100mbps down, depending on where you read. Supposedly it was initially 50mbps but was upgraded by comcast in this area over the winter. My actual connection, according to speed tests (including comcast's own disengenious one) maxes out between 7 and 9 mbps down. That's it. Seriously. The actual speed is closer to between 300kbps and 1mbps down. It's been like this for months now and lately even getting that has been extremely spotty with near-constant signal interruptions daily. The modem I'm using is a motorala sb6121. According to the blue lights signal bonding should be working. I'm not exactly sure how to read the signal page but I don't see anything alarming.  I've tried calling but don't seem to have gotten any closer to finding the problem and getting it fixed and at this point am desperate for help.

  • My audiobook speed has halved to slow speed, but my ipod classic is fine and normal speed. How can I restore this speed to normal again and why has it done this?

what is it with altering the speed of play of audiobooks and voice recordings?
Why only the iphone affected and not the ipod classic?

I've just discovered the answer, tap the screen below the top play bar in a seemingly blank area then another set of controls appears which were previously hidden and on the right is a little box which controls the speed. Mine was at half speed.  It is so not obvious..........I ahd to find this in the downloadable instructions online.

  • Do sth for 5 sec. or 5 min.? How does Java wait for some time ?

How can I show a text in a label for 5 sec. and then make it disappear ?
How can I make my app wait for some time ?
    What's the command ?
    thanx!

The above is correct, but since painting is done in a separate thread, the likely result would be a blank space for 5 seconds, followed by a brief flash of text. You need to look at methods like invokeLater in SwingUtilities. You could also try forcing a paint(Graphics g) rather than a repaint before you wait.

  • I have iTunes (11.1.4) and OSX (10.9.1).  itunes becomes unresponsive immediately upon booting up with the pinwheel.  If I open the app in safe mode it appears to be working normally for about 60 secs. and then the pinwheel shows up again.

    I have restart all devices.

    Hey Von2,
Thanks for the question, and great troubleshooting so far. Usually with issues like this, I would recommend starting iTunes in Safe mode - but you have already done that! Great job.
The next step is to isolate the issue further by using another user account:

  • Speeding compilation on Solaris 8, Forte compiler 4.2 for C/C++

    Hi,
The source code I'm compiling is a sequential compilation. The source code and binaries reside on internal disk.
The machine is a 4 CPU SUNV 440, 8GB RAM.
But still it takes 2..3 hours for compilation.
Any advise on improving the time factor will help.
Some parallel make option is not recommended here in the company :(
    Thanks!
    -Vikrant

since we have only internal disk, we have not copied the remote env & resources to the local disk
Will that matter?Depends. When it comes to performance problems its better to solve them one at a time. If you suspect your compilation system (compiler/make/build config) then you better take out network contention out of the equation.
-xjobsAny pointers?go to docs.sun.com and search for -xjobs, or just download the latest C++ User Guide.
Anyway -xjobs option first appears in C++ in Sun Studio 8, so C++ 4.2 does not have it yet.
You'll have to get a newer one (I do recommend to try FREE Sun Studio 11).
Would the current makefiles work as they are or there is a porting checklist? It depends on how you organize your build. IF all the dependencies are explicitly written in your makefiles then dmake will do a good job of handling it appropriately.
However if there are some implicit dependencies that are satisfied by a sequential order of your build then you can get a problem. It is easy to resolve though as soon as you realize where is the problem. You can always force a sequential order by using .NO_PARALLEL in your rule.
No other problems as far as I know.
As a bottom point - it seems strange that your compilation does not scale. You need to experiment with your build system to figure out what is the bottleneck.
    regards,
    Fedor.

    Hello Howard.
It's possible that you are having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] (don't forget to select ''Disable all add-ons'' when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+plugins this one] for plugins.
If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.
If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there.
