Is a Dell latitude 610 laptop compatible with a ipod touch 4th gen?
My sons 610 won't recognize or charge his new gen 4 touch when you plug it in to laptop, He previously owned a touch 2nd gen and it worked fine with computer, trying to find out if this ipod isn't compatible. Have already checked service pack is correct, it has a 2.0 usb port, and itunes has been updated.Also the Ipod read and works fine in my computer which is a inspiron 1525 so the ipod works fine. Does the computer have iTunes version 10.7 or higher?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.
Have you tried another cable?

You can only sync with one computer. I would backup to one computer and then restore from backup.

Can't connect to the internet with my iPod touch 4th gen.
So I have an iPod touch 4th gen. and have been able to get wifi from my computer with no problem but now it's not working. When I choose the network I've always used I see the 3 lines on top of the screen that show when it's connected to the internet but when I try to open iTunes, the App Store, etc. it says, "cannot connect to iTunes" or whatever it is that I'm trying to open.
I'm so frustrated! I already restarted both my iPod & laptop, connected then disconnected the modem, and resetted the network settings but it still doesn't work.
When i open troubleshoot problems, it says that the wireless network connection doesn't have a valid IP configuration, sorry if I'm too stupid but what's an IP configuration? How can I fix this?

Need help with my ipod touch 4th gen
My name is whitney last year i bought a ipod touch 4th gen . And everything was working fine until i had recently updated it to ios 5.0.1 . Ihave internet connection and can view the browser but when i try to view the app store it either keeps loading the page, or it says cannot connect to itunes store or the browser has timed out . I am getting very frustrated about this as last month my ipod was working fine with everything until i had updated it and had to restore it and the problem still persists. And it wont let me verify my icloud account either it also times out and says verfification failed . If anyone out there can help me out i would appreciate it .
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes." -
Issues With My iPod Touch 4th Gen
I just returned my iPod Touch 4th Gen to the nearest authorized Apple service center. Im just worried about my iPod touch if it will be indeed replaced or just repaired.
The first issue is the light leak on the left side, its huge! i can insert my fingernail between the gap of the metal case and the glass. This hasn't really bothered me since i used a silicon casing.
the second issue is i noticed a bubble under the glass. its like a trapped dirt or something. take a look

still, im still being patient, and i did not bother to return it.
but yesterday, boom, i saw a stuck pixel just around the top left of the screen. it was white all the time. i said to my self, this is not good.
i went to the service center immediately, it will take about 4 days before Apple can confirm if my iPod will be replaced or repaired.
Im just sad because I've owned every Apple product (old and latest) except the Apple TV, and this is the first time it happened, in a product (iPod Touch) with so many issues.
I just want it replaced, not repaired, as it has not even turned 1 month old with me. The store where I bought this only offers 7 days outright replacement, that's why im stuck waiting for 4 days confirmation :(((When you get it back, and if you still are not happy, call Apple and asked to get transferred to Customer Relations. Calmly explain the situation and they will do what it takes to make you a happy customer.

Some bad problems with my ipod touch 4th gen
My ipod touch 4th generation is slow, sometimes unresponsive, unable to sync to my computer, and the apps crash all the time. is there anything i can do to get this fixed? all these problems have started after i updated my ipod touch to the ios6 update..could all these problems be fixed if apple came out with a better update?

What is wrong with the ipod touch 4th gen battery?
I have an 8gb 4th gen ipod touch that I purchased in December 2011. I charged it completely last night after doing a full reset, and by morning the battery was only at half charge. I've turned off all unnecessary services, no apps were running, no music/video play, just in sleep mode. Still the battery drained down at least 50%.
Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Have you found a way to extend the battery charge?Try this:

You did not say if the iPod was in airplane mode. That helps a lot. With iOD 5, the battery does drain faster than before. -

I set up an wireless ad-hoc network with my windows vista computer with WPA-2 Personal security type, however, while trying to connect it from the iTouch, it keep saying incorrect password.
When I tried setting up another wireless ad-hoc network with WEP security type, and shared the internet through it, I can input my password successfully on the iTouch and get connect to the network, however, when I trying loading a page on Safari, it does not load, and say it is not connected to the internet. It seems most games over 100 meg will boot through the developers segway and then flash back to the home screen. Has anyone else experienced this?
IT also seems to have slowed down considerately!

How do I change my phone number on my Apple ID account? Not the number for billing. I got a new Ipod touch and when I was setting it up my emails where correct but the phone number was wrong. The gentlemen at the Apple Store told me just to go on my account on my computer and change it but i cant find where. Only part i know how to change is the billing number. Thanks.

If you can't remember their answers and you have a rescue email address (which is not the same thing as an alternate email address) set up on your account then you can try going to https://appleid.apple.com/ and click 'Manage your Apple ID' on the right-hand side of that page and log into your account. Then click on 'Password and Security' on the left-hand side of that page and on the right-hand side you might see an option to send security question reset info to your rescue email address.
