Is a Internet Plan Possible?

Hi...
I’m thinking about getting the “touch” and I’m not clear if it’s possible to get an internet service for the “touch” specifically or is it only capable of using hot spots and wireless routers...
Comments, suggestions and opinions are appreciated....

As already stated, you can only access the Internet when you can connect to a WiFi Hotspot. If you want anywhere access then the iPhone is a better choice of device.
In the UK 'The Cloud' offers an iPod touch WiFi plan which gives unlimited access to their >7,000 hotspots for £3.99pm. I've not seen similar plans over your side of the world though.

On the Torch model yes, you can use the WiFi connected Hotspot browser for internet surfing and a few other applications, but very few BlackBerry data applications.

I am not too thrilled about friends asking me if i got there pic text and then telling them no i havent, could you send it to me email because my IPHONE CANT comprehend a simple picture text. BUT thats all we can do for now huh. So my real question is how can my friend who doesnt have an iphone, and has a phone with no internet plan, send me an email picture??????????? When the viewmymessage.com site worked they could send me pictures with no problem, and i didnt have to ask them to do anything speacial for me because i have an iphone. I hope someone can give me an answer that will allow my friend with a no internet cell phone to send me an MMS via email.........goodluck

Hi there,
When I get sent a picture message, I get a text message from o2 saying I have received it and to go to their website to see it. I logon using Safari (I've added the page as a web link on my home screen) and I can see the picture message. It's not ideal, but it's good enough until Apple build MMS capability into the software (that's what I love about my iPhone, the ability to change the device by simply updating the software).
Does your Service Provider offer a similar facility? Might be worth contacting them.

Blackberry Internet Plan

I have recently got a 6 month BB internet plan, this was 2 months ago and today it has just stopped working, I try sending text's and it says 'Network out of order' and also my Internet has been cut off; it is fine with Wifi but any solutions?

Contact your provider...consider, you paid them for 6 months of service, and today they cut you off at only 2. But it is they that you need to raise this with (assuming, of course, you haven't changed any settings or anything on your BB that is).

I understand that all the airport's do not need an internet plan, is just connect to a AC adapter and you have free wi-fi or not?

Sorry, but your understanding is not correct.
If you want the AirPort to have Internet capability, you will need to provide a broadband Ethernet Internet connection from a service provider to the AirPort.

You can share your "cellular data" with the computer and other devices through "personal hotspot". You may use USB cable, Bluetooth or Wifi for sharing.
Reverse tethering (sharing internet connection of your computer with iPhone) is not supported.
Call your carrier and activate the cellular data/3G plan on your package. Note that "personal hotspot/internet tethering" is operator dependent feature. Confirm with your carrier or go through this article to see if your carrier is listed and offers this service.

FiOS Internet Plan 20/20

I live in Hampton Roads, VA and I've subscribed to the FiOS 20/20 plan but my NIC is a 10/100 card. Am I paying for something I can never get with my installed NIC? Does the 10/100 NIC mean I can only upload 10MEG per second and download 100 MEG per second? Secondary to this is Verizon doesn't offer Verizon Triple Freedom with Extreme HD TV lineup with the 20/20 Internet plan. Thanks in advance for any help on this matter.

Your NIC speed rating is symetrical, which means it can support what the number says in both directions.
In your case, when it says 10/100, it mean it can support a network that support 10Mbps up and down AND a network that supports 100Mbps up and down. All this is autosensing, so when your computer detects the router it will automatically switch to the correct network speed. You can manually change it, but I wouldn't recommend.

I've been having the same problem since iCloud appeared and complicated an otherwise trouble-free system. Doubling frustrating is that iCloud duplicates my .Mac account so I get two of everything in my Inbox. I turned off iCloud and now mail at least goes out but I can't delete the duplicate account.

If you are on the special double data offer getting 30GB for $130, you can't change data plan without losing your $130 deal. In this case it may be best to absorb overages
if you just have 30 GB at regular price, you can go online and go to the next data level and retrospectively apply it to the first day of your plan.

Internet plan exceeded limit way too fast

Hi,So my internet plan is currently set to 500gb a month, and is used throughout the household, mainly for browsing, some downloading or basic tasks, however, yesterday our usage amount was depleted. Apparantly, 336 gb was downloaded, which exceeded the limit. Furthermore, 50gb was also apparently downloaded, even though capped speeds would have been enforced. No one in the household has downloaded anything near that amount. Ever. It is quite ridiculous. Generally our days go by with 2-5 gb downloaded a day, so this is why this ungodly amount seems so unlikely. If anyone could provide help towards this issue, and why it may have occured, that would be great. -Thanks.

Upgrade my Internet plan.

As of right now I am paying 19.99 a month for a internet plan from verizon that gets me 700 download and 100 upload. I have been using this plan for a while, and I feel it is just not fast enough. Checking back in with new plans, I realized that as of right now for 19.99 I can get 1mb download and 300 upload, but it only says for new customers. I was wondering if it would cost the same for me to "switch" to this same priced plan with better internet, or if I had to pay to upgrade what would that cost and how would it work

Internet plans abroad?

I am going on holiday to Spain in a few weeks I want to take my ipad2 with me. If I put a 3g monthly Internet plan on it before I go will it work over there?

I just returned from Europe. You can purchase a pre-paid sim once you arrive. They're available in airports and other places especially in tourist areas. Be careful to compare costs and what's included related to the sim that you're purchasing. I found, however, that I rarely needed to use 3G. Wi-Fi was readily available even at a hotel in rather obscure area. Skyping home was very inexpensive. I barely used cellular and probably won't bother with it next time.
