Is a physical gate connection required to produce a gated pulse train?

I am trying to produce a gated pulse train with traditional Ni-DAQ. I am confused about whether the output of one counter needs to be physically connected to the gate of the second counter. If not, what directs the gating pulse train to the gate of the outputting counter? The NI-6036 is being used for this.

Hello, I would like to produce 2 different pulse trains on the CTRo and CTR1 output pins.

(DAQ-CARD E6024 PCMCIA)I have the 2 output pins monitored on my scope, when CTR0 puts out a pulse train, CTR1 goes high. When CTR1 puts out a pulse train CTR0 goes high. Also, the pulses are interleaved with each other. Is there a way to make then start at the same time

I would suggest using the counter gates to synchronize the counters. You will need to externally run a wire from one of the DIO lines you're not using to one of the counters' gates. When the counter gate is high, the pulse train will be generated on each counter. Both counters will need to use the same PFI line as the gate.
There is an example program that ships with LabVIEW 7 called "Gen Dig Pulse Train-Continuous-Pause Trigger" for DAQmx. This demonstrates how to configure the counter to only generate the pulse train when the gate is high.
With this configuration, you could synchronize the counters by writing to the DIO line which is wired to one of the counter gates when you're ready to start the pulse train generation.

DB connect no data found is rfc connection required

Hi Gurus,
I want to retrieve data from oracle database, i have all the table with data in it, but through the source system i.e db connect it does not display any contents of the table, it says no data found, the installation was all done perfecttly fine, i can read the table fields but i am not able to read the data from the table. what could be the problem.
Is an RFC connection required for this db connect to retrieve the data from oracle. or else what is the issue. Can anyone please help me out on this, I already posted long back on this still no reply on it. From the osss notes it allgives information about the intallation but it there is no data found then it does not give any information onthis. Can anyone please help me out on this.

You want to retrieve data from Oracle Database using BW and you are having a problem?
Try isolation technique to solve your problem.
Try to use third party softwares e.g. MS Excel. Retrieve data from Oracle using MSExcel. If MSExcel can retrieve data then you can conclude:
a.) The network connection to Oracle is fine.
b.) Oracle is up and running and is able to serve data from your specified table.
RFC Connection is not required. RFC is only useful for SAP to SAP communication. This connection uses a different technique and uses a different driver to communicate. SAP provided DB Connect Engine. A similar approach as what Microsoft's OLEDB is doing. This to make a transparent connection between various database systems. (whether MSSQL, Oracle, MSACCESS, SYBASE etc.)
As part of isolation technique, are you sure you are accessing the correct table? Try to access other tables. If you can access data of different tables then something is wrong with the table you want to access.
Have you check authorization issues? Are you allowed to extract data?

i have nokia 6220c
Software: 5.15
and i just got my last version of ovi maps and its working very good ..
but the problem is when i use the ( Drive to ) option, it only work for 10 seconds then this massage appear : "online connection required to enter the shop,connect now?"
if i press No , it take me back to the map with canceling the dirictions .. and if i press Yes , it take all my criedts and show only loading.. ,
i thought that service is free ,,but i payed alot on criedts for nothing ..
can anyone help me ??

After Flash 11 install: Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.

Adobe Connect will not run on my XP Pro workstation. Flash (11.1.102.63) has been installed several times, with and without AVG. We get the Flash Successful Installation Screen, try to launch Connect again, and always bounce right into the same message:
Adobe Connect requires Flash Player 10.1 or above.
Its like the system is not recognizing the Flash install. How do we get beyond this? Thanks for your help!

I have tried to invite my sister-in-law to join me in a Connect Now meeting. Every time she tries to respond to the dialogue box that comes up when she clicks on the hyperlink I send her, she gets a message saying that she has to install Flash Player. We have tried doing this on a number of occasions, but always end up with the same response.
I've noted from your advice above that Internet Explorer and Google Chrome require different versions of Flash Player. She tells me she has both browsers on her machine. From the description she has given me, she appears to have downloaded both versions of Flash Player.
Despite the fact that it appears she has now install both versions of Flash Player, however, she is still getting the same request to install Flash Player when she responds to my hyperlink request.
Please help.
As my sister-in-law is not technically minded, a simplified set of instructions would be appreciated.

Help menu telling me "Internet connection required"

i'm experiencing a weird and frustrating thing: when i try to consult the Help menu for a topic whose answer is online, the answer i'm looking for appears for about 1/4 of a second before it disappears and is replaced with the following text:
Internet connection required
The help topic you’re opening requires an Internet connection. Choose Apple > System Preferences, and then click Network to check your network settings and, if necessary, connect to the Internet.
thing is, my 'net connection's just fine. it's strong and fast and works for absolutely everything else.

ep, make sure you're looking in the right Library folder. forgive me if you already know this, but there are several Library folders on a normal OS X installation: there's one on the top level of the hard drive, one in the System folder, and one in each user's home folder. birman was talking about the one in your home folder.
just looking over my old threads and saw this one; i don't recall doing anything that successfully fixed the problem, as such, but it seems - knock wood - to have gone away. maybe buying this new Mac Pro was the solution. :P

Unnecessary internet connection requirements

Virtually every time I download an app from OVI on to my phone, I am unable to play it because the game insists of having an active internet connection to work. This has completely put me off using the store. I find it unecessary to have a live internet connection to play simple games such as sudoku. FREE games should not have live internet connection requirements. It's ridiculous. My contract does not have a data allowance and therefore I refuse to be charged a fortune just for playing a simple game.

If you read the details of these FREE games on OVI store.. there is a mention of Data connection requirement... For many games.. just to start it downloads an advert.. and thats the way developers earn money.. In longer run its better to go for a paid game ( .. just pay once..) than a Free one... You may Google for Free games for your phone model.. and may find a few that do not require Internet connection...

Labview doesn't generate a waveform if I try to graph the signal, and my analog input doesn'y recognize that the signal is even pulsing, only that it has a voltage. Some advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Garrett,
It sounds like you want to do Frequency Measurements of a signal that is somewhat digital.
There are two ways you can really do this:
Wire your signal to the counter input and use the Digital Frequency examples (Help > Find Examples > Browse > Hardware Input and Output > DAQmx > Counter Measurements > Digital Frequency)
Continue taking analog measurements and use some sort of logic to determine where you are getting rising and falling edges.
I would recommend doing method #1, but you must determine which one is the best for your system.
If you want to connect to the counter pins then you will find the
terminals located on the side of your SC-2345. If you don't need
to condition your signals then simply wire everything into the proper
pins for your counter (below).

How can I generate pulse trains whenever the value of the gate changes?

I need to generate pulse train both at the rising edge and falling of the gate signal. My DAQ board has only two counters.

As your DAQ board has only two counters available, I'm assuming you are working with either one of the E-series board or SMIO boards.
If that is the case, your board doesn't have the capability of generating triggered pulse trains. And that is what you need.
You will need to use the 660x family instead. Those boards have the trigger pulse train capability. Regarding the second part of your application; none of the DAQ boards has the capability of triggering a pulse train generation at both rising and falling edges of the same trigger pulse. You can configure either as rising or falling edge of the trigger pulse. Then, to accomplish wath you need, you will need to configure two counters, both having the same trigger pulse triggering a pulse train gen
eration, and one configured to trigger the pulse train at the raising edge of the trigger pulse and the other to trigger at the falling edge of the trigger pulse; then have an external OR Gate which the two inputs are the outputs of those two counters.

my customer requires L2 extension across their data centers using Nexus 5596/Nexus 2248. I'm unable to find documentation to confirm my physical connectivity to confirm the logical requirement. Will the diagram below support the requirement to extend their vlans across the two data centers? Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you don't need/want APIC, I would not go for N9k/ACI Version.

As you said, N9K / ACI doesn't support FCoE (its on the roadmap) and definitely not native FC.
No Fabric Path, all is VXlan based.
On the other hand, VXlan (and Fabric Path) support seems to show up on the N7k family (new line card)
