Is a Steinberg C1 audio interface compatible with Garageband if not what is the best product

Is a Steinberg C1 audio interface compatible with Garage band? The unit does not show up in the audio devices window even though it is connected to the computer and all software downloads have been completed.

I have tried the driver(s) from Steinberg.net, and tried yet again yesterday. It actually worked for some reason. I have noticed the device ony ‘fires’ when restarting if you have it connected, and after the latest driver install, Garageband actually recognized it. Don’t know why though.

Audio interface problems with garageband 08

Hi I've been trying to hook up this presonus audiobox usb interface with garage band 08 for a few hours now.
i know the interface works because sound comes out of the monitors when i speak into it. but when i turned it on while in garageband something popped up and said change to audiobox driver so i said yes, it changed it for input and output. then when i select new track and choose a intrument track, nothing gets picked up, no audio , no recording, or signal on the mixers bars. also no sound comes from the song when getting played through the monitors. so i went to systems preferences to the sound folder portion and changed the out and ins from to the interface aswell. what else am i missing.

there is no single answer. compressors are often used, but you have to be careful not to push too far or it'll 5uck the life out of your recording. duplicating the track and its regions are anotehr method. also making sure the mix is correct, bringing other tracks down and then bringing up the master volume

I've had it with Motion 5. What's the best way to reinstall Motion 4?

Not exactly sure why I paid £30 for Motion 5 when it's basically a downgrade from 4. It crashes all the time especially when I open the font list and also when I go to export a movie. Doesn't remember the right fonts for saved projects! Won't let you create your own custom layout. Vector images keep being cropped in a project I'm doing at the moment even though I've unchecked the fixed resolution box and they are all in 3D layers?
So, what is the best way of reinstalling Motion 4?

You should never have uninstalled Motion 4. They'll both live on the same system. In fact, Motion 5's install puts all of your Final Cut Studio apps into a folder called "Final Cut Studio", it doesn't delete or overwrite it.
If you're having those problems, there's issues with your system, not Motion. Run Disk Utility and Repair all disks. May need to run Disk Warrior and rebuild the directories of all of your disks.
Verify your graphics card supports Motion 5, you have plenty of RAM, and your drives are fast enough.

I think tables will be more of an issue/concern than what version of Indesign you use.

I am not suggesting this cannot be accomplished, however it may require a lot structing, formatting, modifying and testing.

New version of firefox not compatible with my OS? what are the risks?

When I was prompted to update my firefox browser, I was subsequently told my Macbook OS 10.5.8 didn't support the new firefox and that I would therefore be subject to cyber attacks from now on, or something similar to that. I don't actually remember the exact phrasing. It did sound ominous. What do you suggest I do? Can I keep on using the outdated version of Firefox that I currently have? or should I switch to a different browser altogether?

You could turn on the Mac OS firewall, and get an antivirus. I am running Firefox 3.6.28 on my laptop with Mac OS 10.4.11, and have not run into any problems so far, being behind a router, with the firewall on and with an antivirus installed.

My computer no longer supports PC applications and so I cannot open all the documents I have made with Microsoft Word. What is the best way to deal with this?

I have tried to use "Pages" and find it difficult. However, I have not taken the time to go through the tutorials. I'm used to Word and don't really want to take the time to learn another word processing program unless it is superior to Word. Should I download Microsoft Word or should I learn how to use "Pages". (To learn "Pages" will take me twice as long as it will take someone under 50). What say you?

Office 2004 Applications Won't Work in Lion
You must have Office 2004 which is a PPC-only suite and will not work in Lion. You need to upgrade to Office 2011 - Mactopia - or you can try the freeware suite, Libre Office, that is functionally similar to Office 2007 for Windows except it works on Lion.

SAP ECC -> SAP PI -> SERVICEBUS -> CRM
ABAP PROXY TO SOAP (ASSYNC/ SYNC)
Symptom
When the IP receives a response from the service consumed an error HTTP500 flow is terminated, but without being able to treat. For example, reading the payload attached to the error and returned the same to the ECC
Doubts
Is it possible manipulate the contents of the exception received from the service consumed (http500)?
I made some attempts, but without much success!

I just launched a trial of creative cloud and I use a lot if unique fonts via suitcase fusion. Honestly, I do have problems often enough with suitcase fusion. What is the best way to administer fonts!!!!!???!!!

There are a few PDF documents about the Workflow Java API. Try to locate "Oracle Workflow and Java Technical White Paper" for 2.6.2 version.
However, please note that Workflow PL/SQL API is far richer and more flexible that its JAVA equivalent.
Also, take into account the different ways workflow engine executes an activity, if the underyling code is written in Java or PL/SQL. If you select the Java API to implement workflow activities, then 2 scripts must be running at all times so that workflows proceed. These are the Java Function Activity Agent and the Workflow Background Engine. Details are included in the above document.
Our experience has shown that:
1) Implementation of workflow activities via Java API is slower and more complex than PL/SQL API, because java classes are considered as external prcoedures.
2) Not all PL/SQL procedures are included in Java API.
3) For workflows with high throughput, the Java Function Activity Agent becomes a bottleneck.
Please note that Oracle has announced several months ago the OW4J (Oracle Workflow for Java). Check a beta version at OTN, together with some features and specs. However, a final version is still pending.

Audio interface issues with Maverick

I just got a new IMac and have found that four different audio interfaces won't work with it. Most of these work with my old IMac. I've tried the Apoge Duet, Saffire Pro 24, Presonus Audiobox USB and a new Mackie mixer with USB output. The two of these that have software had lots of crashing issues. Garage band and Itunes are crashing. All of them work intermittently, but then fail with digital distortion or even Mac bluescreen (the little spinning rainbow thing).
I imagine this means I just need to return the computer, but wondered if maybe I just picked four audio interfaces that all just happen not to work with the new IMac and new OS 10.9.1

Scott, I have a 2009 Macpro runing cubase 5.0 with a Mackie Onyx firewire audio interface that has run without major flaw for almost 5 years. I upgraded to Cubase 7.5 which required that I upgrade my OS, so I upgraded to Mavericks. I am now experiencing an unlimited number of dropouts, studders, clicks, and pops That make my$25,000+ studio virtually useless. I called Mackie, because my version does not have a driver as it is the older (non 1640i) version. They said that this version runs through Apple's core audio driver and there was really nothing they could do to resolve the issue (probably why the new 1640i has its own independant drivers). While with troubleshooting, the problem could still be a Cubase based problem, the forums I have read have shown problems like this occouring across a wide swath of different DAWS and audio interfaces. I believe the problem to be on apple's end, and specifically in some failure in Mavericks itself. I tried to call Apple about this problem, but apparently because my macpro is out of warranty they wanted to charge me $20 for my phone call (my Mackie is older than my studio computer, and though they couldn't solver my problem, they took the time to field my call free of charge). I believe what is going on is that they are using the free version of Mavericks to BETA test their OS, and will correct the issues as the complaints roll out. I am going to try and Install Mountain Lion on my computer and see if that solves the problem. It's only $20, and that is the cost of the support phonecall anyways. I'll tell you how it works out.

I have been loyal to apple for over a decade. I currently own a 2009 Macpro, a 2011 macbook pro 17", a 2013 macbook pro 15", and a plethora of your gadgets. I have spent over $30,000 on apple products, and to charge me $20 for a phonecall for a issue that is most likely internal, and probably has a relatively simple solution is infuriating... Needless to say, the next time I spend $5-$10K on a studio computer, it will most likely not be an apple unless you resolve these issues. Thank you.

What is the best audio interface to buy to record drums?

What is the best audio interface to buy to record drums? Looking for something with 8 inputs to mic my drum kit. Don't want to go past $1,000. Been looking at the Presonus Firestudio and M-Audio Profire 2626, for example. This is my first time setting up a home studio so any suggestions would be appreciated!

The MOTU interfaces are a good value, and as Pancenter notes, they have rock-solid drivers. I've had good experiences with the Traveler, although I'd bypass the mic pres if possible.
And if you're able to spend a bit more, the Metric Halo 2882 also has excellent drivers and noticeably-better sound--it's my fave in the <$2k range. If you can find a used Apogee Ensemble, that's another great-sounding interface, although it can't match the latency performance of the MOTU or Metric Halo. So, for software instruments, the Ensemble is not a good choice, but for recording acoustic drums, a used one for $1300-1500 would be excellent.
