  • Is there an update to make Acrobat Pro 6.0 compatible with Windows 7?

I have been using Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 on a Windows XP OS, but as of 4/8/2014 XP is no longer supported. So, I did Easy Transfer from XP to a computer using Windows 7. When I installed my Adobe Acrobat Professional 6.0 software on the Windows 7 computer, I received a message that it was not compatible with Windows 7. Is there an update or work around that will allow me to use the 6.0 version with my Windows 7 computer?  This is software I've used daily for years and need it, but can't afford to buy new version right now. Any help would be appreciated.

I am suggesting you keep the XP computer permanently disconnected, and have your new computer connected to the internet. You can move files between them with a memory stick.
(Worth considering that Windows is not the only thing with security issues which need fixing. By continuing to run an old Acrobat you have been deprived of security patches for many years. Only Acrobat X and XI are in the "currently supported" category. You should consider this carefully for all your apps, the bad guys could attack ANYTHING.)

  • Adobe acrobat 5 is not compatible with windows 7.  Need replacement that will work.

adobe acrobat 5 is not compatible with windows 7.  need a replacement that will work.  any suggestions.

I would recommend Acrobat 10.  You can find more details as well as a trial at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html?promoid=JOLIR.  It should be noted though that Acrobat 5 is too old of a version to qualify for the upgrade price I am sorry.

  • Ts-L633a DVD drive not compatible with Windows 7 64bit upgrade

Ts-L633a DVD drive on my Pavilion Dv7 1232nr is not compatible with Windows 7 64bit upgrade but will work fine if I downgrade back to Vista 64bit so what DVD drive is there other then the TS-L633a drive that I already have that is compatible with the Windows 7 64 upgrade so that I can buy and install on my laptop.

Here's one out of nowhere:  do you have CD/DVD software that includes Sonic DLA or something like it?  I've seen that take over drives and prevent normal operation.
If you right click on the drive and hit properties, are there any suspicious looking tabs?
Total WAG, and about 1% likely, but there you go.

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0 not compatible with windows 7

    Hello,
Some years ago I bought Adobe Acrobat 6.0 which I placed on my old computer. Now I have a new computer with windows 7 and the acrobat 6.0 version apears not compatible with this windows version. Does anyone know a solution?
    Thanks in advance.
    Best wishes,
    Arjen

If you have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate, you can download Windows XP Mode and attempt to install Adobe Acrobat 6 in the virtual environment. Windows XP Mode uses Windows Virtual PC to run a full Windows XP Professional 32 bit environment virtually, and it is a free download. A limitation you may encounter is that the PDF printer will not be accessible from your Windows 7 programs, only from programs which are installed in the Windows XP Mode environment.
This subject has been discussed on several forums, and while Acrobat version 6 does install and work for some users, the PDF printer does not install on Windows 7. Version 9 was the first version which was compatible with Windows 7, so if this is critical to you, you should consider upgrading to the latest version of Acrobat.

  • Premiere Pro 2.0 Compatible with Windows 7?

Can anyone tell me if Premiere Pro 2.0 for Windows is compatible with Windows 7 Home Premium?

    Hi.
I know this question was answered but I have an additional one.
I'm also running Premiere Pro 2.0 on a Windows 7 64 bit machine. All works fine except exporting to DVD. I get the following error: "No DVD burners
detected". I also, get this in Encore. My DVD works fine in everything else. The Adobe tech guys think it's the 64 bit thing and say all I can do is buy the upgrade ($299).
Is there a way to run this in compatibility mode? I have Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. (came loaded on the computer).
I hate to spend additional money if there is a work around or a fix for this issue.
If you would like to email me directly, you can send it to [email protected]
    Thanks for the help.

  • Can acrobat 8 be made compatible with windows 8?

can acrobat 8 be made compatible with windows8?

An upgrade is probably needed. Have you tried to run it. Of course, after installation you would need to install any updates, particularly with a 64-bit system. It may still not work, or it may be that parts do not work. To check the parts you would have to go through various stages of testing. You will likely find some things that work and others that don't. If something does not work, then it would the time to try to find a workaround. You might get lucky, but don't expect miracles.

  • Acrobat 7.0.5 Compatible with Windows XP Pro SP3?

I need to know if Acrobat v7.0.5 is combatible with Windows XP Pro SP3.
    Thank you.

I don't know, but you may go to the download page and click the individual links to read the notes for that link
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
BTW - There are several updates after 7.0.5 which you should install, and NOTE that the latest, 7.1.0 is at the bottom of the 7x section

  • Will Acrobat Pro 9 be compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion?

Will Acrobat Pro 9 be be compatible with OS X 10.7 Lion?

Roaring Apps is indeed the source
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table/p/1
The claim on the site is that it was tested on Lion and "does not work properly," which is to say there are major, not minor problems.
I spoke with someone at Adobe today who tells me that version 10.1, or at least a modified version of 10.1 that is Lion compatible will be available when Lion is released.
That leads me to believe neither version 9 nor the current version 10 will run properly under Lion. I do not know the extent of the issues. Since I use Acrobat Pro often, I'm not thrilled with having to upgrade, so I'd love to find out that the Roaring Apps post is incorrect. But there was no indication from my discussion today that the old software would work on the new OS. Quite the opposite.
I did mention that I thought $199 was a steep upgrade cost for making the program work with a Mac OS update that Adobe has had access to for a fair amount of time. Particularly since Apple has made it clear for years that they would be dropping support for coding based on the old Power PC architecture.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8500_A910_231 not compatible with Windows 8 CP

    Hi HP support,
I was just wondering if anyone add a solution to make the
HP OfficeJet Pro 8500_A910_231 work in Windows 8
Consumers Preview yet. Because every time I try to run the
installer it tells me that this printer is not compatible with

    Hello Jason.
Print and scan drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 are already included as part of the Windows 8 Consumer Preview.  You should be able to print and scan by simply connecting your OfficeJet to your pc.
    Have a nice day!

  • Premiere Pro 1.0 compatible with Windows 7?

I have been a Premiere 6.5 user with Windows XP for several years. I just bought a new pc and thought I would install an old copy of Premiere Pro I had lying around. The program has installed fine but I am unable to capture video from my HDV deck & when I scrub the timeline I get no playback through the deck at all, although I can control the deck. I am using the firewire card that came with the PC.
Could this be a compatibility issue with the Windows 7 (64 bit) or perhaps a firewire issue?
I have searched for the answer online but there is very little information about Premiere Pro before CS3. I even thought there may be an upgrade available but so far I have found no solutions.
    PLEASE HELP!!!!
    Many thanks,

Thanks very much for your reply. I did actually spend the whole day yesterday searching the forums for a solution, and found some tips. The main advice was to change the 1394 controller or update the drivers, but as this a brand new pc I don't want to open it up and invalidate the warranty. Also as it's new I was hoping everything would be up to date and working fine!
Do you happen to know if this early version of PRO will support HDV? My deck is a Sony HD and the original footage was shot in HD. It has always worked Ok with Premiere 6.5 on XP so I am sure there should be no conflicts?
I am close to giving up and purchasing CS5, would you advise this, or an older version perhaps? Might I find the same problem occuring?
Thanks again, I really do appreciate your advice.

  • Adobe Type 1 Font is not compatible with Windows 8 64bit?

I found that Adobe Type 1 fonts are not compatible with applications that run on Windows 8 64bit. When used, the appearance of fonts on the screen is not correct. Even worse, the font does not appear at all in the CorelDRAW X6. Strangely, when printed, the fonts were no problems. How can I make these fonts can be used in Windows 8 64bit? For additional information, these fonts appear normally when reviewed through the Windows Fonts folder, but does not display correctly when used in the application.

I believe I have a similar issue. I do have the latest Windows updates.
I'm on a new Win8 system, and I installed my Adobe type collection (bought years ago with ATM) by copying the .pfm and .pfb files to Windows\Fonts (there's no right-click > install for fonts on Win8 it seems; copying the font files to the font directory is what I've read as the install procedure.)
Windows then shows an error about .pfb incompatibility, so I selected "skip" for those files.
The result is that my fonts are installed and usable BUT this really screws up IE10 for certain websites. For example, I get blank pages for sites like wordpress.org and validator.w3.org. There doesn't seem to be any way to fix this other than doing a system restore to a point before the fonts were installed. Removing the font files from the Windows\Font directory doesn't help. I don't use IE10 with any regularity but I need it to work for testing purposes.
Is there a way to install these fonts? Is there a way to uninstall them (other than a system restore) if they affect IE10?
It's really hard to install on a one-by-one basis as need arises because I can't tell what the font names are from the file names. There's no application, like a type viewer, that will show me the fonts if I double click the file. (I just ran into this now... I need to use a Garamond type face but have no idea which one it is by looking at the .pfm and .pfb files.)
I would consider buying Font Folio if this is the answer but it's only available for a minimum of 5 licenses? I'm a freelancer and only need one licence.
Should I just use an online tool to convert my .pfm/.pfb files to an OpenType or similar format?
    Thank you in advance!

  • My Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with Windows 7 / 64bit

I have downloaded the newest version of Adobe flash, and it installs like normal...and I think it is working fine....but on some sites (even You Tube) and some software programs, I get this message:
Your version of Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with this version of Windows.
I am tired of wasting so much time with this...I read on the net that some people compiled their computer to 86...whatever that means....but no one explained how to do it.
I have a Flash professional in ADOBE MASTER COLLECTION C6 / but all programs and sites default to the normal Flash player (that constantly gets updated,

I have a similar problem, Win 7 64-bit, I did a clean install*, downloaded latests (Adobe - Install Adobe Flash Player), and after restarting my computer, Win7 64-bit Action Center popped up: "Your version of Macromedia Flash ActiveX Control isn't compatible with this version of Windows" with no error codes to look up knowledge base. Like seriously, no one from Adobe answered this in 9 months?! And the steps in Common problems | Flash Player sound like I need to purchase support before I file a report?
Currently, my Firefox plugins only show Shockwave Flash 13 not Adobe Flash. Do I need to install Flash plugin for Firefox? (http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/support/install_flash_player.exe)
    Thanks!
    * as per How do I do a clean install of Flash Player?:
    1. Add or Remove programs ... Flash ... uninstall,
    2. deleted all files & folders in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash, C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash, %appdata%\Adobe\Flash Player, %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player),
    3.  verified that the files “FlashPlayerCPLApp.cpl”, "FlashPlayerApp.exe", and "FlashPlayerInstaller.exe" in C:\Windows\system32\ (for 32-bit systems) or C:\Windows\SysWOW64\ (64-bit system) were deleted,
    4. prepared to use Unlocker http://www.emptyloop.com/unlocker/ if any files couldn't be deleted,

  • What Royalty Free Music is compatible with Windows 7 64bit

I just loaded CS4 on a Windows 7 64bit computer. I was using SonicFire 5 for my background music in Premiere CS4. Windows 7 has a limited list of software that's compatible and SonicFire Pro 5 is not on it. I would like to know what everyone is using for Royalty free music and Windows 64.
    Thanks,
    Art

My guess is that if Sonicfire Pro 5 will not run on Win7-64, that Smartsound will soon have an update. It should run in auto 32-bit mode, but I do not know this for a fact. Have you tried Sonicfire Pro 5, on Win7-64, regardless of what the compatibility chart shows? What happened?
Also, Smartsound has a great customer/technical support program, and will be glad to help you. If there needs to be an update for Sonicfire Pro 5, they can tell you the status of that.
As far as the actual sound files, there should be no issue, as they are just media files, .WAV, or similar.

  • Is iTunes 11.0.1 compatible with windows 8 64bit

I'm sure there's something wrong here, either with iTunes 11.0.1, or its compatibility with window 8.
iTunes became a nightmare, nothing is organized, it do not save modifications, it can not remember what's watched what's not from movies or tv shows, even with the new files I just added.
    Even music.
It is not even streaming or synching properly to apple tv (the latest version), it keep on disconnecting.
I tried this is 3 devices, with different brands, two of them with windows 8/iTunes 11.0.1, all the same, but the 3rd is with Windows 7/iTunes 10.7.0.12, it is working great, very smooth, all is well, in all fields.
Plus, All my devices are 64bit, when i install iTunes 11.0.1's iTunes64setup.exe, downloaded from apple.com/download, in my windows 8 64bit, then i run iTunes i got iTunes (32bit) "knowing that from task manager"
    what's going on??????
    It's a total mess.
I wish i can use another program, rather than iTunes, but I'm stuck, because all my devices are from apple.
    please help

Most likely not, but there is a good chance that it will run under Windows XP Compatibility Mode.
