Is Acrobat Standard 7.0.9 compatible with Win 7?

I have Acrobat Standard Read/Write for Windows and also all of the patches since its release, including 7.0.9.  I have been running the software from my XP machine, but recently switched to Windows 7.  I installed Acrobat 7.0 without thinking that it might cause a problem with Win 7 till after the install.  If it has caused a problem it isn't obvious. It seems to work alright If this verion of Acrobat works in Win 7 I would very much like to continue using it.  Should I install the updates and is there a reasonable chance it will work under Win 7?
Wether it works or not, will what I have already done effet Windows 7 negatively?
Thank you

Acrotray is a feature I've never used so perhaps this will not be a problem.
In the preliminary testing I've done, eerything seems to work the way I normally use Acrobat.
Question:
Is it likely that the install of Acrobat 7 will effect Windows 7 negatively?  As of now I can do a" restore point", if need be, to take my system back to how it was prior to the install. But I would guess that it is not possible for the install to effect Win 7 too negatively.  I am being perhaps overly caucious, but I would like to have things, with the install of this new OS, as clean as possible.
Thank you for responding.

  • Acrobat Pro 9 is not compatible with Windows 7

Acrobat Pro 9 is not compatible with Windows 7.  How do I upgrade my version?
    Thanks,
    John

Where did you get that information (other than Win 7 is not listed in the compatibility list)? I have been using AA9 on Windows 7 for several years (it is a 32-bit system). Did you try to install it or some other issue crop up? You may need to be sure you install the updates, but otherwise it should work. Even folks with AA8 have been successful on Win 7 (at least that is what they have reported), though they are likely to have some minor problems at times.
My Win7 came with Acrobat 9 when Win 7 first came out and has worked fine. If you have upgraded OFFICE to 2010 or later, then you would only be able to print, not use PDF Maker.
That being said, it is still a good idea to go ahead and upgrade. AA9 is the oldest version qualifying for the upgrade to AAXI.

  • Is Adobe Story CS6 Compatible with Win 8?

I am about to install Windows 8 Pro and it says that Adobe Story has a "paid" update to win 8.  Is this so?  I have Adobe Master Collection CS6 and Adobe Story is included.  It does state that my "collection" is good.  I am confused about this for sure.
It also says that Adobe Media Player is  not compatible with Win 8.  Will this effect my Master Collection CS6 functionality?
    Thanks in advance.

One of the differences between the Creative Cloud and the Master Collection is that application updates are included. I am unsure about the status of the version of Story included in MSCS6 and the latest one available. Which came with your MSCS6?

  • Sound Card not compatible with WIN 7

I have a Dell 8200 Dimension Desktop (vintage 2002)?that I?ve just upgraded from XP Pro to Win 7. My Turtle Beach sound card no longer works since it is not compatible with Win 7. When I tried to install a non-Dell sound card, I found that the two sockets were not compatible with the Dell cables. I was told that I must have a Dell card since the plugs were proprietory Dell. I was given a Dell part number (38FRH) which supposedly was the card that would work as a replacement, i.e., be compatible with Windows 7. Dell no longer stocks this card since they stop supporting their computers after they are 5 years old.
Can?anyone help me solve my problem?

Which Dell cables? To the speakers? If so, time to change the speakers then.
Also try online such as eBay. Google for "Dell 38FRH". Ignore the Windows 7 drivers links. First few I found were fakes/scams. Scroll down. On the first page there were a couple of sites that carried it.
I would rather change the sound card [get something "modern"] and speakers than continue to use proprietary stuff.
Using Win 7 on an 8 year old system? Yeeesh.

  • Standard and Pro versions compatible with Windows 7

    Hello
I am looking for a list of Adobe Acrobat Standard and Adobe Acrobat Pro that are compatible with Windows 7. We are upgrading over 1000 computers to Windows 7 and we have many different versions of Adobe Acrobat writer Stndard and Pro.
    Thanks

There are also issues with 32 vs 64-bit systems. The latter requires updating your version in general. Generally the initial releases have not worked in the 54-bit environment. There are many driver issues with 64-bit systems and probably should look carefully if 64-bits are needed. The 64-bit system is useful if you are computationally focused, but may not be much of an advantage in standard office environments. Just be careful. If you are installing OFFICE 2010, then you need AAX for PDF Maker compatibility -- prior versions of Acrobat only allow printing from the OFFICE 2010 suite. Some folks have been successful with AA8 on 32-bit Win7 (I have only seen 1 post that would suggest success with 64-bit Win7). Prior versions of Acrobat can be made to work on 32-bit Win7 systems, but require work arounds (i.e., the AcroTray tool that automates the conversion to PDF process fails in Win7). The 64-bit system will probably fail for most of the earlier versions in such cases.
Realize that you may have to deal with Win8 shortly that has it's own issues.

  • Acrobat Reader 5.0 not compatible with windows vista sp1. What can I do?

I just got a camcoder that uses Acrobat Reader 5.0 and can view the stillshots but can't view the motion shots. It says it's not compatible with windows vista sp1. What can I do to make them compatible?

Upgrade to the latest version of Reader through here: http://www.adobe.com/go/EN_US-H-GET-READER
Also, this is not the Reader forum, but the Acrobat forum.

  • Acrobat Standard 6 won't work with OSX Lion

I just downloaded OSX Lion and my Acrobat Standard 6 no longer works.  What to do now?  I hadn't upgraded along the way, so how can I know get an application to create pdf files on my Mac?

Acrobat 6 Standard or deluxe are PowerPC Programs. They've been runing in an emulation mode called Rosetta since OSX.6  OSX.7 Lion is pure Intel only. and Rosetta has been discontinued.
If you need PowerPC applications You are either going to have to revert back to Snow Leopard. Or buy you an external Drive install OSX 6 or lower on it and run your PowerPC apps from there.
You may discover many of the applications you depend upon if you haven't kept them upgraded have quit work as well. You can do about the same thing with standard in The Mac Directly. Standard didn't have Forms capability.
Just go to Print Menu click on PDF and choose desired PDF.  I would suggest though If you seriously want to have PDF and Forms Capability to Upgrade to AcrobatX. There is so much more you can do with PDF's than with 6 Standard.

  • Acrobat 8 Pro not compatible with Win 7 Pro 64

When I changed from Win XP Pro to Win 7 Pro I could not transfer Acrobat 8 Pro. Adobe Support just informed me that Acrobat 8 Pro was not designed for Win 7 and that's it. This was pretty frustrating and gave me the opportunity to search the market. I am going to switch to PDF Suite that is coequal to Acrobat but hundreds of times favorable in price!

Support gave you the correct answer. The new underpinnings of Windows 7 makes it impossible for Acrobat 8 to function properly. It should not surprise you that new OSs require new software. Acrobat 9 is very nice software, you can get an special upgrade price from 8 to 9. Acrobat 10 is likely to be available real soon now. There are many programs available to create pdfs. Office can do so natively. If that is all you need then Acrobat may not be for you. However, for some there is nothing quite like Acrobat.

  • P6210f compatible with Win 8?

I have a pavillion p6210f which I purchased in 2010.  I ran the compatibility of it through Microsoft for Win 8.  It said fine.  I purchased the upgrade and got the message from HP essentially saying I was doing it at my own risk.  I stopped and sent it back to Microsoft for a refund.  I do not have a touch screen at this time, but I still wonder if I could have put 8 on.   Is this just a general warning or is Microsoft saying compatible when it isn't?  Is it worth having 8 without a new monitor as well?
    Thanks.
    CarolJoy

    Hello CarolFreed,
If the unit passed the upgrade compatibility from Microsoft the it should be compatible.
The message you received from HP is a message that generally displays when you do the upgrade. It is compatible with your computer even though you don't  have touchscreen.
It is not necessary to have touch screen to use the features in Windows 8.
One suggestion i would make before doing an upgrade is making sure you have recovery discs for your computer that will return it to Windows 7. This is in case you need to revert back to Windows 7 for any reason.
Here is a link showing you how to create the discs if you already haven't.
Let me know if you have other questions.

This series is listed on the Toshiba European driver page and ALL XP drivers are available
So you ask if all drivers are needed???
Well, of course you dont need to install everything from the page, but if you want to use all notebook features then all drivers and tools would be necessary!!!
Never fear ;) you will be able to install the XP on this notebook and it should run trouble free too ;)
