Is Acrobat X pro compatible with Explorer 9?
I just installed Acrobat X in my computer runing Windows 7. The adobe toolbar does not appear on my explorer browser. What may be the problem? What do I need to do to make the adobe toolbar on the Explorer 9 browser?
Thank you.
You are running Acrobt and and not the free Adobe Reader?
Update Acrobat to version 10.1.1.33.
Check Acrobat's prefences to display PDF in I.
Check IE to make sure Acrobat's addins are enabled.

I want to be able to use distributed forms (created in Acrobat XI Pro) that I have received back through email with Acrobat X Pro. That is, I want to be able to import the form information that is being sent back to me into a response form in Acrobat X Pro. Is this kind of "forward-compatible" issue possible?
Or, since I created the distributed forms in Acrobat XI Pro, can I only import data from those forms in an appropriate response from in Acrobat XI Pro?
Thanks! The distribution technique for email, network folder, or internal server haven't changed between Acrobat X and XI so you should be able to do this; however, it won't be managed through Tracker because you're distributing the form through different programs.

How can I make Acrobat 6 Pro compatible with Windows 7?
When I load Acrobat 6 Pro on my Windows 7 laptop I get a message stating it isn't compatible. Is there a fix for this issue?
If you were able to install it with Acrobat and Distiller opening if selected, there is a chance. However, it is a work around. The problem is typically the print driver and Acrotray. The work around (if these two basic programs run) is to install a color PS printer (may be one of the HP printers or even a PS printer from Adobe), rename it to Adobe PDF, and set the port to FILE. To print or use PDF Maker, you print to this Adobe PDF printer that you have created. Then open the file created in Distiller to obtain a PDF. I have done this with AA7 on a WIn7, 64-bit, and with AA5 (naming the printer Acrobat Distiller) on Win7, 32-bit, for testing.
Also, be sure to install the updates to Acrobat. You will likely have to download them from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and install them in order. -
"Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater"
Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro requires Internet Explorer 6.0 or greater is the error that jumps up when I try installing it. Currently this system is running Internet Explorer 7 which is installed at it's default location. Any clues what can have gone wrong?
Version 7.0.5730.13
Build 75730
Program path C:\Program\Internet Explorer (Swedish computer)
Language Engelska (USA)I came upon this post after receiving this error message when trying to install Acrobat 9. In my case, we deploy Acrobat from an Administrative Installation Point (AIP) using Group Policy. I believe the user at this computer pulled the plug while the group policy deployment was taking place. I got the error when trying to install the program manually afterwards.
I was able to rectify the issue by running msiexec.exe against the MSI in the AIP with the /x switch, performing an uninstall:
msiexec /x \\server\deploy\AcrobatStandard9\acrostan.msi
(The program was not showing up in Add/Remove programs, otherwise I would have tried uninstalling from there.) After that, the install proceeded successfully.
Hope this helps someone. -

My instituion purchased Adobe Acrobat XI pro. With a recent software upgrade, I have lost all access.
Hi Dawn,
We might want to have a look at the install logs to determine the cause.
Please try the following basic steps :
> Enable the hidden Admin Account on Windows 7 ( Ref : http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-wi ndows-vista/ )
> Disable all Non-Microsoft Startup Services. (Ref : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/disable-startup-items-services-windows.html )
> Disable all the Antivirus softwares like CA, Norton,Mc Afee etc. temporarily from the computer.
Reboot and try installing in the new enabled Admin user account and check.

Is music created in logic pro compatible with the logic pro x ? for instance if you have created something in logic pro and want to add or tweak it, is that possible? I suppose you would need the original logic folder?
Yes it is more or less compatible, except the use of 32 bit plugins, which is prohibited from now on. So although you're able to open Logic projects as far as down to v5 I believe, it is advisable to remain for 'adding and tweaking' in your pre LPX environment.

RoboHelp 9/Acrobat X Pro Integration with Outlook 2010
Is anyone aware of any issues with RoboHelp 9 and/or Acrobat X Pro integrating with Outlook 2010? When I create a PDF for review using RoboHelp and then try to send it for shared review, I keep getting an error message when I try to add people to the To and CC lists in the Send for Shared Review dialog. Clicking either button brings up my Address Book from Outlook, and I can select people without any problems, but whenever I click OK, I get a Check Names dialog book that says:
Microsoft Outlook does not recognize"/O=Company Name", Select the address to use:
(No Suggestions)
At this point, all I can do is go back to the Address Book and try to add people again, but this leads to the same error. In Outlook, go to File/Options/Add-Ins, and select Manage Com Add-ins, and click Go...
Then make sure the PDFMaker Office COM Addin is checked, select OK, restart, and it should be available. -

Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion?
Is my mac pro compatible with mountain lion/ 2 x 2.66 Ghz Dual core processors?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
WilliamAnd FBDIMMs which use to cost $300+ for 8GB can now be had for... 2 x $34.
I paid $300 2 x 512MB August 2006,, then 2 x 1GB $400 March '07
So as long as you only need 16GB you are safe, it is when you need 4GB, or the rare 8GB FBDIMM and 32GB or more, that yes, time to part ways and get a system that supports cheaper DDR3.
Except, right now, 10.8.2 'broke' support for more than 64GB and there were people depending on and using 96GB. Or that more than 48GB also 'broke' the Apple Pro RAID card; a card that still does not support 3TB drives. 10.8.2 does though provide support for more current Nvidia cards (10.7.4 also showed support just not for GTX 6xx series). 3rd party graphic support has always been a weakness, until now.
Apple Mac Pro is a workstation. Except when it is not. It is still not clear how they missed these things.
What 32-bit EFI won't get you is 64-bit kernel mode and abilty to fully use more powerful graphic cards or memory addresses for a single process beyond 4GB or graphic card support with more than 2GB (and 2GB use to always fail in OS X in the past). -
Video recorded in QT Pro-compatible with FCP?
Is a video recorded in QT Pro compatible with FCP?
I was getting errors earlier today importing QT video clips recorded in QT Pro.
FCP said "unknown file type" and wouldn't import it.
I tried different decks, different footage, all to no avail.
Drag and drop, file>Import, neither worked.
I never tried this before and was surprised.
It's not that it needed rendering, it just wouldn't import.
QT was set to use the native format of the recording device.
FCP was set to DV NTSC easy set up.
OS 10.4.7, QT 7.1.2, FCP 5.0.4.
Thanks,
RichardNow this is strange.
I just downloaded Live Capture Plus to try it out.
It captures the same tape from the same deck with the same settings as I tried in QT.
Imports perfectly into FCP 5.1.1 No problems whatsoever.
Both clips have identical settings in the info pane of QT Pro:
DV/DVCPRO - NTSC, 720 x 480 (640 x 480), Millions
16-bit Integer (Big Endian), Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz
29.97
640 x 480 pixels
Yet the QT clip will not import into FCP with an "unknown file" error.
Why?
Thanks

Acrobat 11 Pro - problem with right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" output folder
I'm migrating from one machine running Windows XP Pro with Acrobat 8 Pro to Windows 7 Pro with Acrobat 11 Pro.
On the XP machine, when I right-click on a document and select "convert to Adobe PDF" the process works just fine - it always outputs the file to the target destination I have set in the Adobe PDF printer definition.
On the Windows 7 Pro/Acrobat 11 Pro machine, the exact same settings are ignored: the PDF will always end up in the same folder as the source file.
Both the source folder and the destination folder are on one of my office's networked drives.
Under the Printing Preferences, I have the output folder address set the same on both machines, so it *should* go to the right location on the new machine.
Oddly enough, on the Acrobat 11 Pro machine, if I select Adobe PDF as the default printer and do a test print, it *does* print to the correct folder!
This has got me stumped!
Thoughts?
(update from later in the day)
If Adobe PDF is selected as the default printer, I *can* select a bunch of documents, right-click, select "print", and Word will open up, and they'll print to the correct target folder.
So, it's "just" the right-click "Convert to Adobe PDF" that doesn't work correctly. The reinstall is typically the last ditch effort to do. The first step is Help>Repair and Help>Updates. As far as Office 2013, the PDF Maker of AA X is not compatible and you can only print. In your list of errors it showed a problem with AcroTray.exe. As a first step, go to the print and select print-to-file. The file will be a PS file (maybe with a PRN extension). Once the printer if finished, open the file in Distiller to complete the process. If that is successful, then the problem is with AcroTray. Check your running tasks to be sure AcroTray is indeed running. If not, that is likely the problem. If it is, then restart it (it is located in the Acrobat folder). AcroTray provides the interface between the PS creation and Distiller to automate the process of creating the PDF.

Does Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro work with Windows 7?
I'm having a printing from Word to .PDF issue using Acrobat Pro 8 on a Windows 7 Pro OS. It's not working. It starts as though it's going to work and then nothing. The printer icon in the system tray only states printer error and then I have to cancel the print job. I'm using Word 2013 also.
Hi Greggory Bowles,
Acrobat 8 pro is not compatible with MS Office 2013. You might prefer buying a newer version of Acrobat with Latest Features and Security Updates (Buying guide | Adobe Acrobat XI Pro).

Acrobat X Pro crashing with IOS X 10.10
Does anyone know if Adobe Acrobat Pro X is incopatible with IOS X 10.10. The program stopped working the other day and advised to uninstall and reinstall. Now when I tried to reinstall Acrobat X Pro, I receive this error message:
Do you mean OS X.10.x? I have no problem with Acrobat XI with OS X.10.2. But it was already installed. I do not know if it is compatible with Acrobat X. It is not unusual for new versions of OSs to require software upgrades.
