Is ad hoc at home by Thomas keeller available as. iBook ?

Is there some reason you cannot use iBooks on your iPad to find that out for yourself?
It's Keller, not Keeller.
Yes, it is in the iBookstore.

Homeview major bug: Homeview navigation not available in Common File Dialog Box (i.e. Java, Adobe Photoshop etc)
    Hi
All though provisioning somewhat more flexsible and pointing forward ... things are starting to go wrong here ... i.e. pointing to a very potential lack of success introducing users to the new Home namespace/concept ...
    0) Situation if you do not fix 1 + 2:
You can not release the Homeview feature like this - without fixing 1 + 2.
If not 1 +2 is fixed you might just as well leave the release of the Homeview feature out of the roadmap for Windows 10. I.e. not ready for use ... or promotion in the UI
    1) How come Homeview has not been included - like other namespaces i.e. Libraries into the Common File Dialog Box?
How can such a trivial thing to do be missed? I.e. like forgetting to include Homeview into Explorer (would be absurd).
If not included into the Places Bar of the Common File Dialog Box ... Home View will be unusable - because some very visible applications like Java, Photoshop will not be able to navigate that space easily at all.
    2) Finally, please fix obscure situation in the UI namespace in Explorer
Please fix obscures like having Home view, Favorites and Libraries (side-by-side complexity and confusion obscuring usability) - all similar concepts but on a different evolutionary step. I.e. have Favorites and Libraries
hidden - and add i.e. view control like to small buttons whatever to unhide/show the legacy concepts.
In any case - Home view already seem to migrate/move links from Favorites to the Homeview container.
Additionally, Home view should migrate links from Libraries to Home view - and provide similar and better functionality.
Thus going the evolutionary way from Libraries > Favorites > Home - with the later concept of Home providing links to the cloud. Even better, sync relation ships could then later (extended features for Home) be set up among the pins - i.e. concerning
    cloud/network syncing.
The UI should always reflect the 1 essentional concept - and not under the hood technologies or different evolutionary stages of the same basic/essential concept (technology/implementation free - abstract: "Home with pining of user data space"
    - was previously favorites or libraries (thus obsoleted)). Now the name for that concept is Home. Have it include the technology that replaces Libraries too - i.e. categorization/nesting ... and some whitespace inbetween the nesting (alike some whitespace
already there inbetween the namespaces in the Explorer UI ... provides easy "modular" reading)

    Hi,
    Please clarify the following:
    * "X: is a network drive, but it's actually a network drive on my machine." - Is "X" a mapped drive to one of your shared folder on network?
    * What is the project directory structure with respect to WEB-INF/web.xml? Are you able to see the three pages (from web & pages folder) in NitroX Editor?
    * Does the modified content appear in "Design view" of index.jsp upon restarting NitroX?
    Ex:
    - modify one of the pages in "web" folder > save the file (alert appears)
    - restart NitroX, does index.jsp display the modified content of included page?
    * If possible please send the test case project which exhibits the behavior to [email protected]
    Thanks,

  • I want to buy an iPhone in Shanghai, but when i'm going home will it be available on the European LTE (Denmark)

As you can see i want to buy the new iPhone 5S here in Shanghai, but i'm not sure how it works with all the networks and if it has to be unlocked. So i hope there's a clever head out there who can help me out with this problem. If i should go to the Apple store, what should i ask for and is it even possible to buy a model which is working in China, Denmark/Europe.
If there is anyone who can help me with this, please post a clear answer, because don't got that much knowledge about things like this.
Hope someone can help me figure this out !

No it will NOT work on LTE in Europe
and unless you can buy an unlocked iPhone from Apple (no-one else)it will not work at all

  • As soon as I made gmail my home page my bookmarks available in IE gmail, under 'Bookmarks', disappeasred, and importing bookmarks didn't make them reappear, so where have they got to and how can I get my bookmarks link back??

Please just answer and stop asking more questions.

You can open that smart keyword website via the location bar and click the star to edit that bookmark. That will also give you the folder location of that bookmark. If you add the keyword to the name (keyw) then you can find it more easily.

  • Ad hoc issue

    Hey
Setting up an ad hoc network on my mb is no problem at all. Getting my itouch (gen 2.0, firmware 3.0) connected to the ad hoc is not a problem either. However, when I try to surf on the net with my itouch I get this message
    "Cannot Open Page
Safari cannot open the page because it is not connected to the Internet."
Help is extremely appreciated. I really want to be able surfing on my itouch, through ad hoc, at home.

What form of Internet connection do you have for your MB. You can only SHARE a wired connection.

  • Ad-Hoc conference using TC GUI

I have several TC 7.3 endpoints that are registered to CUCM 10.5 and are able to initiate ad-hoc conferences, using Conductor, by pressing the "Add" button on the Touch 10.  My question is, is it possible to do this though the endpoint GUI?  Adding a second call in the GUI doesn't seem to do the same thing. I'm assuming because CUCM needs the "Add" button pressed to initiate the ad-hoc escalation to conductor.  Thanks  Mike

    Hi Java,
    Thanks for information!
I have the CUCM 7.1.3, only with the MCU and CUCM can enable this functionality?

    Hi,
I wonder how is possible using an ad hoc videoconference showing in my ip phones and softphones all participants simultaneously in reduced size. I've seen this feature enabled, but I wonder how to enable, wanted to know if I need any additional application.
    Thank you!

  • Home sharing not working in iOS 6

Using ipad 3. I've tried everything including rebooting and resetting my settings and Apple ID. Cannot get it to work, it recognizes that a home shared library is available but will not download it, get "cannot turn on home sharing" in music and just stalls with a 2/3 shadowed circle in videos. Yet, all works fine on the iPhone 4's, iPad 2 and iPad 1 on same wifi network.
I've had no problem to my knowledge with wifi.
There are a few other issues too, but I'm hoping Apple will have a quick solution for all???

    Mate,
I have more or less the same problem. Trouble is I updated both my iPhone 4 and the iPad 3 to IOS 6 (wish I'd only done one of them). Basically, both initially had trouble getting into the home sharing on my iTunes. Seems to work after a couple of goes or killing the music app and relaunching. But doing some strange things once running. Same as you, the artists tab is not correct, it pulls a few of them in but I'd say 90% are missing! Playlists and songs seem ok. iPad 3 prob behaves worse than the iPhone 4, sometimes you see the music tracks when in a playlist changing at the top like (hard to explain) but killing the music app and relaunching tends to fix this.
And don't get me started on the videos home sharing. So hit and miss with the album artwork, sometimes they show correctly but often there are lots of incorrect ones and random stuff shown. In my TV shows shared library it even came up on the iPad with album artwork for some of my songs. Bizarre.
So I think IOS 6 has made a bit of a mess of home sharing. Going in the opposite direction and using the 'remote app' to browse my iTunes library seems to display normally.
Bit dissapointed with IOS 6. No more streetview in maps, erratic home sharing. Seems more of a downgrade than an upgrade to me. I know Apple are very big on new features etc but I'd rather see them trying to fix the bugs on their exisiting features than doing this. I mean did we really need an IOS 6? IOS 5 seemed to be ticking along ok, bugs still existed so why not focus on these.
    Cheers
    Wayne

  • ITunes sharing among iPhones with different Apple ID's one computer WITHOUT home sharing, shared folder, etc...

I feel like I am losing my mind, here. A few things I want to clear up before you read my question:
No, I am not new to Apple. Yes, I understand that Home Sharing works for any group of devices authrized with my Apple ID. Home Sharing is not my issue.
    1. My wife and I have different iPhones with different Apple IDs.
    2. We only have one computer, on which iTunes is running under my Apple ID.
    3. My iTunes library is far too large to paste into a shared folder. I keep my source folder on a 1TB external hard drive (not enough space on my iMac).
I just want her to be able to plug in and copy music onto her phone from iTunes. Home sharing is great while she's at home on the wifi, but not when she leaves. I created her own user name on my computer, set her iTunes (under her Apple ID) to pull from my library source file, and she can play everything fine, except that she cannot click and drag files onto her phone.
    Any assistance would be appreciated.

iTunes Match is associated with one, and only one, iTunes Store Apple ID and country-specific store. The service cannot be shared between Apple IDs.
    Indy Apple Guy wrote:
If we sign up for iTunes with the one account with the majority of the songs, is Home Sharing no longer available to the other two accounts?
Of course it is. iTunes Match has no affect on Home Sharing.
    Indy Apple Guy wrote:
    A.  What happens to the songs on the other two libraries?  Can we never use them?
It is possible to consolidate the tracks from the other iTunes libraries into one and use that for iTunes Match. Make sure the one computer that hosts the library is authorized to play any protected content.
    Indy Apple Guy wrote:
    C.  If we purchase songs/albums while in iTunes Match, and then decide not to use Match in the future, do we lose all our music?
Of course not. Any purchases go to the purchase history for the Apple ID that bought them and as long as the tracks are downloaded and backedup you'll have them as long as you maintain them. Keep in mind that iTunes Match is a service; you don't do anything "in" iTunes Match. It simply "is" in the background.
    Indy Apple Guy wrote:
    D.  If we associate our child's iTouch, will it still keep the parental controls in place so it won't play certain songs that are not appropriate f
Yes, parental controls should continue to work as they have. Although I do not use them, perhaps someone else with experience will weigh in.

  • Portable Home Directories in 10.8 Server?

I have a Mac mini Server running 10.6.8. Now that 10.8 is out, Apple will probably stop supporting 10.6 (as is their policy) and that means either slowly eroding security or moving to 10.8. I have been looking at the documentation and it seems underneath it all is still by an large the same basic unix-stuff like postfix, dovecot, a dns system, etc. Giving the lack of support for GUI-managing the more complex setups, I'll probably be doing it command-line (stuff like multiple virtual mail domains, multiple web domains, etc.). Not fun (and a business opportunity for some enterprising software engineer).
But what I haven't been able to see in the documentation or anywhere else is Portable Home Directories. In my current setup, I have a 10.6.8 Server and 10.7 clients. On these clients is a single local administrator acocunt and the rest are 'managed mobile accounts'. These are local acocunts. They work when away form the network on which the server is, but when in range of the server, the server may push settings and stuff. And on login/logout and when connected to the LAN and during work, the home directory of the user is constantly synchronized with a copy of the user's home directory on the server. This means my users can take any computer and get their own account and a synchronized copy of their home directory. They can also take a laptop off line for a while and when they return to my LAN (either physically or by VPN), any changes will be synced. This is a sweet setup and it works with 10.7 clients and 10.6.8 server.
But what I haven't been able to find if this will still work with 10.8 Server. I have looked at teh 10.8 Server documentation and haven't found anything about it. Will it still work somehow and if not, is there a good alternative?

    Gerben Wierda wrote:
Or: you create the users anew in the network directory, you replace their home directories with the content of what is on the MacBook (TDM is your friend) and do the chmod. Easier still.
That way, I suggest the migration in that way; because, you can test everything out before the data gets moved over. There's nothing like something going wrong in the setup/migration, and you have to do it all over again.
Kirk, you can always put the Home directories/folder on an external. But if you do, you'll probably want to run this command in Terminal:
sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool YES
That sets the system-wide setting to mount external HDs on startup. The default behavior  in OS X, probably around 10.3 onward (but Apple may have flip-flopped on this), is to mount externals on user GUI-login, not on startup like internal HDs. The default behavior is a huge problem with network users, whose home directories reside on the external, since the external on GUI login often mounts "too late" and new "phantom" home directories are created (along with warning messages that the home directory can't be found) and you sometimes get duplicate mount points. In short, the default behavior creates a bit of mess. To spare you some frustration, run that command, which will mount the externals on startup, so the home folders are always available.
It's also handy if you plan on creating other shares on the external; it prevents some flaky behavior.
Gerben's "general description" can be applied to Lion and Mountain Lion, although with Mountain Lion you have fewer tools, and you'll often be working in Server.app rather than some of the older tools like Server Admin.
    Again, basically you need to:
    (1) Setup file sharing, where you designate a directory/folder as a share to hold the network home directories. On the default install, Apple makes /Users a share, and you could (similar to what Gerben did) use that to hold not only local accounts' but also the network accounts' home directories. In that setup all users' home directories reside in the same place. All you have to do then is check the box "Make available for home directories over" and leave "AFP". See below; note the very last checkbox; that needs to be checked:
I preferred to keep the local and network users separate, so I actually use a different share for the network users, and not /Users. If you go that route, pay attention to the permissions, it's somewhat easy to get them wrong. I think I cheated and used Carbon Copy Cloner to clone the /Users directory to another HD, then just renamed the directory. FYI you're actually not seeing this in these screen shots, since I'm using a "fresh install" virtual machine to make the screen shots.
Also if you don't need it, I'd probably uncheck "Share with Windows clients (SMB).
    2. You need to setup Open Directory, so you can manage Network Users. Since you want portable home directories, then you might consider using Profile Manager (introduced in Lion Server), which is Apple's latest tool for that. You can also download separate Workgroup Manager as well. Not sure which is better, or exactly why there are both. I think the documention indicated for older pre-Lion OSes, Workgroup Manager is still around.
2a - If you go straight to Profile Manager, and set it up, it will first make you setup Open Directory, then the rest of the setup for Profile Manager itself.
2b - Or you can always "two-step", first setup Open Directory, then later if you want "Profile Manager".
    3. Once you have OD (step 2), and the share setup for network home directories (step), you use Server.app to create the network users, and assign their home directory to the share not local. Note the entry "Home Folder"; use the pull-down menu to select your share. See below.
If you forget to set the Home Folder, you can always "edit" the user and change the Home Folder to the share, and not Local Only.
    4. To get portable Home directories, I'm pretty sure you're going to have to setup and activate Profile Manager or use Workgroup Manager. Sorry not much details I can provide there, I've only played with it a bit, and was planning on upgrading my MacBook Pro to Mountain Lion before giving it a go again.

  • No home phone service for more than two months

I am sending this note on behalf of my mother.  She has been waiting for technical services to her home phone for more than two months.  She has received dates where a technician would come out to repair her services in which she has left work early or stayed home on weekends no avail.  My mom is not in best health and has a child with disabilities living in the home and it is imperative that her services are working.  It is frustrating to her to pay for a service she's not receiving.  This is the worst customer service experience from Verizon.
I am asking for immediate resolve to this issue and to work with us to assure payment for time where phone has not worked Will not be charged to her account.  Please contact me {edited for privacy}.

  • Itunes 11.1.1.11 home sharing doesnt work on Windows 7 - whats the latest work around??

Hi all, i know there is lots of stuff going around about this but the fixes i want to try dont work. I have changed to compatibility mode and restarted the computer and itunes and started home sharing to no avail. We have an ATV2, ATV3, ipad mini, Ipad 2, ipad3, 3 x iphone 4 and 1 x iphone 5 that all worked perfect before the latest round of updates. The ATV's, itunes and all the IOS devices have the latest versions and thats when it all stopped.
I dont want to delete every trace of itunes from the computer like some have suggested.
    Now What??
Thanks for anythin you can suggest.

Doing a bonjour repair using "uninstall program" on windows 7 resolved this for me, the AirPlay icon came back in iTunes and Home sharing showed up on my Apple Tv 3 again. :-)

  • How to select Oracle Home

Probably an embarrasingly simple question but nevertheless it has me stuck. I just installed Oracle 11gR1 on a windows server 2008 box and now have both Oracle 10gR2 and Oracle 11gR1 installed. The Oracle Home Selector is no longer available from the start menu and the installation guide suggests using the Universal Installer to choose between homes. I am unable to figure out how to do this. Please guide me. Thanks.
    Bill Wagman

The HomeSelector has now been folded into OUI. The following steps would help in accomplishing this task:
Bring up the Oracle 10g Installer and Click on Installed Products. Then go to the Environment tab.
Here you can find the HomeSelector which uses the OUI inventory to list the homes. The old Home Selector used the registry entries to look at the installed homes. But in Oracle 10g the registry entries use the KEY_ format.
Hence the old Home Selector will not be able to see Oracle 10g homes in the list. If you want to switch between 8i, 9i and 10g Homes, use the Home Selector which is available inside the 10g installer.
